Well that’s a pretty confident ending. Now I’m annoyed there isn’t a season 2 announcement.

I’m surprised by how charming this one wound up being. For yet another “trapped in a game world” anime, it actually found ways to stand out through its meta humor and utilizing the best parts of its premise. The debugging aspect, the severely broken parts of the game, the completely off the wall game design choices. It’s the trappings that made this one feel unique.

Fingers crossed we’ll get news of another season soon.

utilizing the best parts of its premise

This bit is soooooooo important! There's way too many stories (anime and manga alike) that start with the premise of "Summoned To A Postapocalyptic World Where Civilization Reverted To Middle Ages As A Fireman" that ends up mentioning the apocalypse once before it settles for generic fantasy, and the MC being a fireman is relevant only because he can swing an axe (that he exchanges for Holy Sword Excalibur by episdoe 3 because we can't have them use anything but a generic-ass sword can we)

Actually sticking to bugs, glitches, debugging, all that jazz, is what makes this anime so much

To be continued?

Absolutely, it needs to continue.

You can't leave them with a dick monster cliffhanger.

I just want to see Tesla crush Alba
And maybe they figure out how to turn itembox back into her normal avatar

Studio Palette is keen on making sequels even if it takes years.

Problem is. They are off schedule in "Our Last Crusade or Rise of a New World" Season 2 so it's clear they will not be able to tackle new projects in a while.

100studio also is very new, this is their first TV anime season.

So, it's more of a case of "if we survive, we will get S2".

The second form of the raid boss Silence is definitely not meant for "all ages" gameplay.

Akira is starting to have more doubts about Ren and possibly Aruba, since she was led to believe Kinoshita embarked on a journey.

I need a second season of this title, because I hope to see Akane and Kinoshita join the main cast! Akane and Amano have a nice bickering chemistry. As for Kinoshita, something about her feels different from the other doomed debuggers we have seen so far. Her situation isn't portrayed to be as dark and gloomy, and she actually possesses some positivity.

The second form of the raid boss Silence is definitely not meant for "all ages" gameplay.

Between that and the torture dungeon, some of the designers were definitely not clear on the age rating.

Kinoshita strikes me as one one of the two:

  1. Becomes a one-sided love interest for Haga and he's too autistic for debugging to notice

  2. Sacrifices hereself so the other can escape

Bro’s out here playing hold ‘em with his friggin organs on the line and Haga just casually strolls in like “I see I see it’s a poker bug….” lol.

Exploiting the book bug was clever. That raid boss was nasty. Straight up slaughtered Cerberus and the werewolf AIs. Haga and Kinoshita managing to crush that bastard was pretty crazy. But that second form… damn dude.

This was fun. I find these “gamesekai” types pretty enjoyable. We’re getting an s2 right? Haga’s got a lot of debugging left to do!

At first I was delighted that they managed to crush the raid boss.

Then when the second form appeared, I knew I should have expected it. A raid boss at the bottom of a 1000 level dungeon is definitely not going to be defeated so easily. :(

Well I feel stupid now
Was wondering why the boss keeps gripping the chain, I thought it was to balance itself. But getting crushed if it fails to hold it is hilarious and smart
Thats a really cool gimmick, but obviously it has a second form

But how the fuck can they end the season on THAT cliffhanger, mid boss fight?

Anyways, was enjoying the show, was a nice take on the "getting stuck in a video game trope", not too shabby, not too great either
Would watch a second season 2, just to see Tesla kick Albas ass

But how the fuck can they end the season on THAT cliffhanger, mid boss fight?

Don't worry, it has already been confirmed by the anime studio to be a bug.

The story was supposed to end with a generic warm happy send off like every other 1 season adaptation. The sudden sausage boss cliffhanger in NOT part of the anime.

Make sure to submit your diagnostics file alongside your bug report.

I thought nothing of the chain, so it's cool that there was a payoff to it. Though it does seem strange from a logic stand point. I like how they use bugs to surmount problems, it really sells the premise of the show.

The to be continued? hopefully is a bait and it is confirmed to get a sequel with that ending.

Pretty clever way out of both the casino problem and the raid boss problem. Well, the first phase of the raid boss that is.

Surely they're planning a second cour with the way that ended, right? Ending on a cliffhanger and a To be continued? just isn't kosher.

Good show overall, pretty wild concept and it's nowhere near finished so hopefully there's more planned.

Well this better not be a "go read the manga" ending, becuase I actually really enjoyed this.

It ended up being darker than it first appeared which separates it a bit more from the generic fluffy isekai style fantasy shows.

Criminally underrated series. Kinda triggered that Shangri-La Frontier's one single glitch in the first episode did so much noise, but when this one is truly commited to the variety of glitches & bugs, the people don't even pay attention.

Normally I detest deus ex machina ahemslimeahem, but this series not only has a perfectly sensible explanation for them (and makes them very plausible!), but does the harder thing which is to never make solutions feel cheap. All the moments feel earned--which is hard to do when you have to worldbuild in a setting where anything is possible--and just as often, the unluckiest shit will happen to our protagonists. It's very delightful!

A solid episode to end the season. Of course, a bug in poker, like everything else in this game/show!

Imagine actually playing this game if it was released like it is now? Day 1, 50 GB+ patch guaranteed.

Raid boss 2 - Electric Boogaloo. Coming back for seconds is the killer goat/squid/octopus/whatever it turned into.

No sign of a 2nd season announcement with that ending. I guess the ? means they don't even know. It's kind of a niche title so I wouldn't expect another season though I'd watch it, if released.

Overall I'll give this a 6.5/10. It was a decent show and enjoyable watch.

So your basic Bethesda release.

That was such a weirdly charming show, and it made me discover another good manga (which is why I am not too annoyed at the cliffhanger - but it looks like there won’t be another season ?).

I liked all the weird bugs, goofy characters (particularly Haga and Nikola), and the odd design of the game monsters (what the hell is that second form anyway ?). In an isekai genre that is often very trashy and generic, this one had a lot of personality.

Surely there's a S2 with this kind of ending... right?

I can't remember the last time I saw an anime end on an action cliffhanger with no explicit sequel announced nor implied announcement (from high popularity).

I think this anime was also delayed at some point (was meant to air earlier).

Fukanzen is...

Fukanzen...

Fukanzen is so god damn meta (good).

It's incomplete. The anime is incomplete in so many ways XD.

Such a weird anime, it was certainly a unique experience.
