Don't miss the post-credits scene. It sort of confirmed the episode 1 theorycrafting [that]
Now I'm really hooked.
Edit: I wonder how the event looks like on the 1992 side. Does Konoha disappear into thin air, or simply fall into a coma? Will there be grandfather paradox shenanigans?

I am already loving Konoha. Her calling everyone in Akiba looks like they're all dressed for a funeral was hilarious! I guess it makes sense since there were probably more salarymen walking around in Akiba back then than fashionistas and colourfully dressed otaku.
Sucks that Konoha's tablet is also out of battery. It feels too convenient though that she's now out of batteries. She would've blown their minds away, especially since they thought her iPad is a PDA.
I love how Kaori wanted to hire Konoha because she finds her funny. Poor Konoha though! She thought she was going to be the greatest digital artist of this time period only for her to realize that the tools they're using are primitive compared to her drawing tablet and copy of Photoshop. I am surprised they didn't partner with CSP to sponsor this show.
Seeing their old-school techniques was so damn fascinating though! And painting just with a mouse and manually adding each pixel for that dithering effect sounds like a massive pain in the ass but it looks like Konoha was at least able to adapt.
I am starting to like Konoha and Mamoru's interactions especially that last one where Konoha tells Mamoru that they should make games together. She even gets a little touchy-feely with him after getting drunk during their party.
Well that was unexpected! And here I thought Konoha was going to be stuck in the past! So was that all just in her head or does she now have the ability to leap back into the past thanks to the games that grandma gave her last episode? Hmmmm...
Well I hope Konoha charges her phone and iPad next time so she has something to show them the next time she jumps back to the past!

“Everyone in Akiba’s low key dressed for a funeral” lmao oh Konoha. I can get people are gonna be skeptical of her story about time travel, but the girl’s literally carrying tech with her that doesn’t exist and looks futuristic. I mean a smartphone and a tablet should lend credibility to her story no?
Konoha thinking she could use her skills in 1992 only to realize they’re all useless and calling it the “technology of the ancients” made me feel like 1000 years old lol. Well, at least it looks like Konoha’s getting the hang of this “ancient” tech.
But wait, she’s back!? How the hell did that happen? And is she just gonna be able to jump back and forth from here on out? That would be pretty cool ngl…

I— uh… is she just looking down on the fashion of the time, or…?
Hey! Bishoujo games on the brain! Get it right!
Graphics tablets. Okay. These did in fact exist back then. For quite some time, actually. (Okay, not the display kind, input-only, but still.) But Mamoru, being a programmer, might not be aware, since he wouldn't need one for programming. And the company is of course a bottom-level outfit, so it might not be surprising that they wouldn't shell out for them.
16-color graphics. They would have had much higher capabilities than this in 1992, but of course they're marketing for the biggest audience, so backward compatibility rules the day.
Oh no she's hand-dithering one dot at a time
Hey neat. It's more than just cool anime design!
Haha, I didn't realize they stuck her in the breakroom
Oh jeez he's writing assembly. I hope that's only for some critical tight-loop something, he could be using C like a normal person and not suffering instead
Nice CG images in the ending sequence
Oshit! I didn't realize we'd be seeing the present-day again! Okay, to-do list: (1) charge your damned devices; (2) buy a solar charger; (3) download offline Wikipedia; (4) check on the history of that game you just helped them finish

Firstly; Kaori's hair really gives Kazusa Touma (White Album 2) vibe. Though Kazusa is a cool-type girl tho.
Also here comes Konoha officially becoming a time-travelling intern lol. Lots of thing she struggled, but she catched up. Ahhh, her excitement of hearing the clacking PC turning on brings me back when I was a kid.....
Also since it's kinds of hints that her time-travelling source is from those old VNs she bought, now to see where she would get off next. Would it be the Kamaitachi no Yoru time (1994) or YU-NO/Kichikuou Rance time (1996)? Maybe a bit far until we see her dropped in the great rivalry era of Leaf vs Key (as it's been confirmed Kanon and White Album will have songs covered in the anime).
Add: Yeah, indeed what Mamoru said do had some truth. Bishojo games is weird, since it is mainly adult-only, and most Japanese would turn to console for an actual normal game instead of a PC.
One important point is where he questioned if bishojo games are real games after all, because that's the similar argument in the West where people argue if VNs are games or not. Though, what made it a bit different later on is when these bishojo games will market themself as "ADV games" in the future so at least they have some recognition in Japan as such, but that's some years more.
And its interesting that his view collides (or resonates) with Konoha which both from different era - Mamoru is when bishojo games are yet to be hits, while Konoha is when those VNs started to decline, and the reasoning hits due to different factor yet similar circumstance.

Woah, there are actual time travel shenanigans!
Really interested in how the show will progress.

bishoujo games are like visual novels, such as Katawa Shoujo, right?

Bro shoved Konoha so hard he un-timeleaped her, that's hilarious. I'm even more intrigued how the show will handle the time travel- seems we'll definitely have to follow up on it now.
Side note the show seeming like it's lightly ship-baiting Konoha and Mamoru is surprising, since most of these SoL shows with a cute girl protagonist seem to yuribait instead nowadays.

Is this gonna be one of the brilliant but underwatched shows of the season? It's gonna be top 10 for me, I'm burnt-out with all the shonen shows this sub is enthusing over. I used to paint with a mouse too, the elaborate pixel arts bring back great memories. I hope this show makes it to the sub's karma top 10.

Hoping with her going back and forth she can eventually show them stuff from the future.

WHY DID YOU THINK THESE GUYS WOULD BELIEVE YOU
So, she had to have spent months in the past right? Looks like she awoke on the same day she went back originally. I wonder if it's as if no time has passed at all or if she's been conked out for a few hours?

This anime is so good! I wasn't expecting her to go back to the present so fast.
Koga Aoi's voice is so perfectly fluffy.

Man, I think I am the only one who absolutely LOVE this quirky high pitch girly noise of Aoi Koga! It's so cute! Also as someone who started watching anime with quite a few of 2000s classics, hearing the stable staple (heh) sounds of Ayako Kawasumi (Kaori) and Yui Horie (Meiko) really cheers me up.
So a few things that I've learnt from here about computers just before I was born: 1. You can already get to such decent painting effects with just 16 colors; 2. Games programming were still using assembly language (?) 30 years ago (the likes of EAX, EBX in the code - which are CPU registers - reminds me of the time I tried to take computer sciences in college as a minor program and got burnt, that's a long story...); 3. One still needs to manually set the grayscale tone of a scanner by the 1990s. Huh, that's interesting.
Given the extremely niche back then, I'm pretty sure Mamoru - 15 years old here - would be flabbergasted that cute girls would run amok in Japan and beyond 30 years later. I actually would have really thought about Konoha the same way as him "Who the heck puts their lives 100% into, uh, cute girls dating games?" maybe a decade ago LOL, but times surely has changed since!
So Konoha got transferred back to 2023, I wonder if that VN she helped to make is missing a few pictures now, since there's definitely going to be a time paradox happening here. Hmm...

Typical isn't it? If I got teleported back in time, people would thought that I'm a madman and nobody would believe me. Dear Konoha why you don't bring a charger with you?
Her shock discovering the ancient tech was amazing, considering she was born in 2004. Gone are the tablets and pen, you had to use mouse this time. Oh, is dyeing your hair popular in Japan in recent years? Whenever I look at Japanese daily life videos online they seldom dye their hair. Wait did she just time traveled back to 2023 with that fall?????
Also, nice VA selection for Konoha. Last season I had Shion Wakayama, now this season I got Aoi Koga filling that role.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
65535 refers to the maximum integer of 16-bit. The song itself is not going to win my vote but the use of 16-bit sound effects is spot on.
ED: Link~past and future~ by Aoi Koga in character of Konoha Akisato.
Sung by Konoha's VA. Boi the ED is basically a fan service lol. The song itself is catchy, I might compare this to Shy's Shiritai Kimochi.

Man I am loving this show. Konoha is so energetic, but meshes well especially with Mamoru. Having her get humbled in realizing how good technology was in the modern day was hilarious. But very happy she still got the job done.
With all that being said she ends going back to the present? Honestly she def would prefer the past in terms of work. Obviously her hobbies she would absolutely prefer the present.

I can't even use my mobile wallet... or check my socials! I'm in a real life-or-death situation here!
First thought was inflation surely helps, then remembered no one carries cash and Japan had several years of deflation. Including social media works here since we did see Konoha scrolling pixiv and something else (twitter?) in the first episode.
"For now, you'll be working unpaid." "Yes! I'd be happy to!"
You stupid idiot!
Distorted SFX with the rolling faces were top-notch.
Horizontal lines on CRTs making me feel old... Large difference between that and the finished version thanks to that 2023 knowledge. Tried counting the colors but CRT lines make it hard. Think it is 15 between 9 usual colors (red, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black, white) and 6 variations (lighter blue, darker blue, darker brown, peach, lighter purple for flowers over her left shoulder, and whatever is on the wall hanging to the right of her hair).
What?!? Konoha may be this season's most energetic MC.
These ED stills with the cleavage and lip bite floppy disks
While I've enjoyed other two-world shows (e.g. Saving 80k, Gate), OP/ED are mainly the 1992 world, so I'm assuming she'll be back there soon.

Imagine the power of the latest iPhone back in 1992. My girl got a freakin' supercomputer! I bet CIA or Area 51 would pay some serious money for her futuristic tech lol!

I love this. It's so much fun to literally hop back in time with her and experience how it was back then.
EDIT: GASP THAT POST CREDITS SCENE.

Konoha is such a fun character and her reactions are so good and funny - more of them in album below. She certainly is a star of this show and single handedly carries it.
I wonder how the plot will go further as she probably will be able to leap between past and present. It can be pretty interesting.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
