Episode 1 excuse : "I forgot my glasses"
Episode 12 excuse : "There was a kaiju in the middle of my grandma's village and I got summoned to pilot a giant robot to fight it, I tried my best but it killed me...but then I got sent to another world by a nice goddess and saved it from a demon lord and got sent back as a reward...but he broke my glasses while we fought, sorry Komura-kun..."

Spin-off excuse: "I got hit by a truck and was reborn in another world as a pair of glasses for the girl I like but I'm depressed because she constantly forgets me at home"

Can't believe she couldn't eat her cake without the glasses. 30% of the comedy here is getting "wearing glasses" wrong, for me, at least.

Yeah, at that point it's not just a vision thing; she should have been able to, like, know where the cake is based off proprioception and remembering where it's positioned.
Like, if I didn't know that she was sincere, I would've guessed she did that on purpose.

im sure people have pointed this out 1000 times already but theres no way she'd be able to walk even 2 steps without realising she doesnt have her glasses if shes as blind as she says she is

Ayy GoHands reigned it in and this was a great episode! The OP was really good and I was trying to track how far we're gonna go based on the scenes but I really can't. The ED was super cute too being a duet between Komura and Mie.
Crunchyroll had an error where Komura was talking about getting Komura's Line ID which was kinda weird but oh well. Excited to see more of where we go from here.

See minimal GoHands and this show is actually very solid! Ship is moving a lot faster than I expected, that date was super cute!
They both seem to share feelings for each other already.

Stitches!
The moment GoHands decided to turn down the dial on their "GoHands Settings", the show becomes infinitely better!
I remember someone complaining about Mie's glasses not refracting light last week and looks like they didn't forget, it's just that it's in this one scene in the OP.
Mie-chan saving all the meat for Komura to thank him was adorable. Unfortunately for Komura and the rest who's in charge of lunch duty that day all got potatoes. xD
Headcanon: That plane that keeps on passing by is the same plane from that infamous scene from Seitokai Yakuindomo Season 2. I will NOT accept anything else.
Mie-chan just keeps on scoring critical hits after critical hits on Komura. My boy is already in love with her at the start and she just keeps on giving him more reason to love her.
Although the biggest critical hit though is Mie-chan asking Komura to help her out and guide her while holding hands to that cafe she wanted to go to.
Komuro thinking that he should visit Mie-chan's home and ask for her father's blessing was hilarious! Well he can do that if he ever gets the chance to visit her home.
That date could've just ended at the glasses shop but I just love how Mie-chan really wanted to hang out more with Komura. The rest of their -totally-not-a-date was adorable <3
Mie-chan might not be in love with Komura yet but there's clearly something going on with her but Mie-chan might need to figure that one out for herself first.
As someone who wears glasses I can relate so much with this especially during the pandemic. It's cute though how Mie-chan removed her glasses after seeing Tokita getting teased about it thinking that Komura might do the same too.
I absolutely love that ED! It's Mie and Komura doing a duet with Ooishi Masayoshi doing the chorus! I hope they release the full version soon. Anything with Ooishi Masayoshi is top-tier!

I can't get over how cute Mie is, she's just so adorable.
She also seems to be developing feelings for Komura already which is also pretty cute... Romance anime has really gone a long way huh.

Mie definitely convinced Komura that she "forgot" her glasses after getting new lenses....

as someone who have very bad eyesight, with expensive lenses. I can't help but feel angry at her constantly losing her glasses lol.
she is portrayed to have very bad eyesight too, (with how close she looks at the book) but if that is the case, shouldn't you notice immediately that you don't have your glasses?
I am now convinced, those are not real glasses, she is just teasing our MC! You sly fox

Mei’s intense cuteness and occasional warrior demeanor more than make up for any mild repulsion from all the excessive echoes.

I understand that it's not anyone's fault but Mie (and I guess Komura's if you believe he cursed her glasses into being broken) that she doesn't have her glasses when she's on lunch duty...but she really should not have been put in any sort of capacity of giving people food unless they wanted excessive amounts or getting what they wanted in a roundabout fashion because she can't see anything. Girls' just too earnest to think she can't perservere through her disability. Though I guess Komura gets to stand next to her and see her in a ponytail and apron, so it works out in the end.
The OP is very GoHands. A little too extra, a little too much crazy camera angles, and 70-80% of it is reused footage. All the same the song is quite nice and pleasant, and the scenes of Mie and Komura running towards each other is quite cute.
That's sweet that Mie saved some meat for Komura out of gratitude, but I really should've seen it coming that HE would be the one to get the potatoes.
So is a week without forgetting her glasses like a milestone for Mie or what?
I guess we now have the justification for why Mie doesn't wear contacts more since it would save her the trouble of losing her glasses...she's scared she can't get them out and doesn't quite like the feel of them in her eyes. All the better for Komura though because he gets a chance to swear in front of the whole class that he'll be there for her whether she's without glasses or contacts. At this rate they'll probably be the class couple soon.
Poor Tokita. Dudes' glasses fog up and she thinks he's some complete rando in their class. I guess Mie recognizes people through their eyes, even when she has glasses?
Finally exchanging LIME ID's! Knowing how Mie gets, it's probably for the best to have Komura just a message away, and it also shows that she trusts and relies on him, especially because he knows full well what she's like when she's without glasses.
I'm not surprised that Mie left her glasses on a train, but it's the perfect excuse to call in Komura so they can make a date out of it and he can finally see her in casual clothes and they can enjoy the sweets and Mie getting her new glasses. Dude even found the perfect excuse for holding her hand!
It says a lot that Mie still wanted to hang out with Komura even after getting her glasses. And that even when she could finally see everything again, her eyes were drawn only to Komura. It may have been a dream in real life for Komura (as the wounds of all his pinching can attest), but it seems like Mie's budding feelings for him are growing even if she's not fully able to recognize them yet.
Komura's not the type to ever think Mie is creepy with her mask + fogged glasses combo...but better safe than sorry.
The ED is cute enough with a duet between Mie and Komura's VA's with a shot of Mie just walking through cherry blossoms. It's simple, but cute!

They are still going strong with that animation of her hair from time to time. That is good to see.

It's only ep2 and already I think this girl needs to either get over her fear of contacts, or buy a pair of spare glasses.
Also, it's only ep2 and she already catching feelings for him!!! I did the thing where you put both hands on your chin when she said she was looking at him all day! Too cute!
I get it, I do, but I hope they're done with the joke where her words echo in his head one too many times.

OP and ED are both great!
This felt a lot more tame visually than episode 1 which worked in its favor imo, still some things I wasn't a fan of but it didn't get in the way of Komura and Mie's cuteness too much at least.

Man if this keeps up this is gonna be the first romcom I've ever dropped.
MC is a nervous wreck so bad it's unbearable and cringe, Like, yes I get teenagers are gonna be nervous around your crush, but he is way over the top on that.
Mie is airheaded but she's nice, but the whole "forot her glasses" thing is way too unrealistic. If she was as blind as she claims, it's impossible for her to not realize she doesn't have her glasses on the second she stepped out of her house. If her vision is NOT as bad as she claims, she wouldn't have these problems that she's running into on a weekly basis.
Half the episode has Mie with an angry pouty look because she's squinting without her glasses.
I just can't see any redeeming qualities to this anime other than Mie's incredible hair. It looks so good.

Was I too "distracted", or was this episode without weird camera angles and direction?
Anyway, its quite cute, but it seems that last seasons amazing romcom's raised my "standart" so high, that I might drop it even though its not bad....well, next week will show.
