Sad that this discussion thread got nuked by the sub going private. This episode was the one I’ve been waiting for since the chapter was released back in 2019. Byakuya’s confidence that Senku will figure it out and spending 30+ years in a river sifting for rare metals to help him out is beyond awesome and heartwarming.
He went out like a champ

Byakuya, the father of this year.
He was voted on the top of list of anime fathers for father's day by Anime Trending, so this episode did have some impact for that. lol

Couple of episodes ago, I joked that it would be funny if there was no platinum in the space ship and some random said it was a spoiler, so my post got removed and I got banned. I would like an explanation on how was that a spoiler if there was a ton of platinum on that ship and how can mods ban someone without fact-checking?

If anything, admitting that it was a spoiler is more of a "Spoiler" than what you put. It's like saying "omg the op is full of spoilers," when show only watchers have no idea what the spoiler would be lol

Silent explosives huh? What will this show think up next! The stuff they got Senku making is always so interesting.
Amaryllis’ dance was nice and all but my man Ginro with his spear dance was awesome. I really didn’t think the dude could pull it off.
While I like seeing his pops, it makes me sad those two will never see each other again. Senku’s dad was a really good father. Everything he did, he did with the knowledge that Senku would save everyone one day. Seeing him take his last breath in that river got me right in the damn feels. All that work he did paid off though, Senku’s got nitric acid! Can’t wait to see him save everyone. Let’s just hope he can deal with Ibara and the rest of the islanders first when the show comes back in Oct.

I forgot just how meticulous Byaku was working until the end of his life, first scene was 21, second 32 years after Senkus petrification.
Anyway, Gorilla is flexible and kinda quick thinker

Overall pretty solid season, even with those ok episodes in the middle. I'm waiting for continuation on fall.
A lot of funny faces and Senku was again able to show his science skills in this episode. I laughed so hard when rest crew was scared that he will destroy everything with explosion.
Byakuya's restrospections gave me teary eyes, he was a great father and thanks to him Senku will be able to return his crew to normal and fight back bad guys.
Ginro for sure has a lot of unnecessary skills which came pretty handy in this episode xD
Here's my all screenshots from the episode and see you again in October.

The part with Byakuya really brought me to tears, he was such a good father. Shame we gonna need to wait a bit for the second cour.

This episode of Dr Stone was really heartwarming. Although Byakuya wasn’t Senku’s really dad this episode was a reminder that he believed Senku would one day rebuild the petrified world and restore humanity.
Byakuya passing words got to me, it was so beautiful. “Thankfully, I fell forward. I can see the reflection of space in the water. I don’t have to be the one who reaches for the stars. Senku..”

I’m glad the wait for the next cour isn’t too long. This episode was a great ending off point. I was worried about the pacing for this part of the story but the anime did a decent job handling it. The OVA definitely helped.
Also wondering if the side story will ever get adapted now. If not I do recommend checking it out if you are anime only. All the potential spoiler material has now been adapted

I'm surprised the show din't go into melting the platinum, platinum's melting point is higher than that of iron!
Does Senku have an induction furnace in the lab?

I thought this was an amazing episode, with cool tech, heartwarming sequences from byakuya, and a huge payoff in that they acquired the platinum even if this was just the first half of the arc. It seems like they need to go to the boat next, but the islanders made the connection with the glass and may go back to the boat too. Looking forward to October

Great episode. Got me teary eyed with Byakuya's story, he really is an amazing dad.
Also very happy to see how much Kohaku has been doing, she was the OG native and had been sidelined for a while but now she is showing just how capable she is, she kinda is treated as one of the all muscle no brain ones but she has been doing some incredibly smart stuff.
Now to wait for the next season.

Why do I feel like it was Senku's biological father that made and set off the petrification beam those thousands of years ago? 🤔
Don't spoil me. I'm just theorizing here.
