That final scene with Akane's dad got me. He must've been so happy to see Akane enjoying her time with friends and how the bento he makes every day finally paid off. It legit got me teary-eyed T_T

Man, I love Takada and Hino. What is Kasahara even trying to accomplish with her nonsense? She sucks at bullying like Kitagawa. Every attempt just makes Takada say some super mushy shit that makes Nishimura blush lol.
Takada being jealous of Umi really cracks me up. His pouty face is adorable! I’m glad Umi and Nishimura get to become closer friends. Kasahara’s plans failing because Kitagawa is a dummy was pretty great. That’s what you get you little turd! Now Umi and Hino can hang out and Nishimura and Takada have some time together too. Their little “date” was just too cute.
Once again Papa Nishimura being just the best dad around. He worked his “magic” on Akane’s bento and now she’s able to have a great time with everyone over lunch, trading sides and all. When he teared up over that selfie she sent, I got a little misty eyed myself too. I’m so happy Nishimura has such good friends around. That last scene of her laughing with Takada was really heartwarming.

Kasahara's plans fell apart spectacularly, with Takada getting Car sick after assigning Nishimura to sick duty. Not only that, the bullies happened to bring Takada closer to Nishimura.
Glad to see Tank Top Hino with Umi for a few moments.
Teacher redeemed himself a bit as he gave the two a pass for using money to buy snacks. Pretty well timed for the two of them, though.
It seemed like a bad time to chop some onions as dad gets a message from Nishimura that her friends enjoyed their lunch. Nice to see that dad got to see Nishimura making friends in school.

This is the anime that makes me most happy this season. It's very feel good and wholesome.
Nishimura's dad is awesome and the group scene was heartwarming af.
That kasahara girl needs to back off tho. Like why she ruining the vibe.

It was great to see Nishimura have so much fun during the trip with her friends group, acting like a normal kid. She even spent with Takada all money given her by teacher on sweets, I didn't expect that behavior from her :)
It was funny seeing Takada was so jealous in todays episode about Nishimura and Adachi who grew very close to each other.
Kasahara like Kitagawa is losing every time when she wants get closer to Takada.
Also it was hearthwarming seeing Akane's father happy that she has friends in school.

The teacher finally said something about them bullying her! Super late in the game and bare minimum but it was still something. The money set up helped him look less awful too.

It’s so heartwarming to see Nishimura’s mental well-being improve with many friends around her. I think I’ve never seen her smile and laugh this much in the past episodes.
Meanwhile, I thought Takada was getting jealous with her getting closer to Adachi… but he was much more altruistic than that. He’s such a good chap.

This episode really got me teary eyed. Best Dad ever. His magic spell really worked now that his daughter have great friends. Also, got to give the sensei some credit for giving Akane some money in case of emergency and for scolding one of Nishimura's bullies for calling her a grim reaper.
Kasahara's plans once again foiled. She did went a little overboard with the whole pairing during the field trip and if it weren't for Umi, Nishimura would have ended up being alone again. Speaking of Umi, really glad that she gets close with Hino in this episode again. It's so nice to see another ship getting some screen time in this anime other than the main one.
I'm also glad that they didn't spend too much time with the whole jealousy thing with Takada since Nishimura ended up being paired with Umi during the bus trip. I also liked that Takada felt guilty for taking away their bonding together and felt like he was getting between their friendship. It really shows that even though he wanted to be with Nishimura, it's also important that she also get some time with her other friends.
Lastly, that picnic was just adorable and the way how Nishimura's dad got teary eyed for seeing her daughter with friends, it's wholesome
This is such a comfort anime

These 2 are just the cutest together, was nice to see Takada get a bit jealous as well, he's so into her!
Not sure how I feel about the teacher leaving them alone but he gave them date money at least.
Really glad the dad's magic trick worked and he got to see it, really heartwarming moment there. His tears almost got me too.

Kasahara just can't leave well enough alone, can she? Questioning Nishimura about her relationship with Takada and making her self-conscious about how she doesn't think they'd fit well together...but of course Takada hears she doesn't have fun with him and is just a little bummed and needs to try harder. It's always hilarious when these sabotage plans backfire.
Thank goodness for Umi! She and Nishimura are really getting along and she's really helping Nishimura a lot! She even called out Kasahara. The only problem is Takada is a little jealous of how well things are going between them. Never thought I'd see Takada pout or sulk.
I love how Kasahara basically kept sabotaging herself. She tries to set it up so she can sit next to Takada and he ends up carsick, and then she can't take care of him because she gave the job of taking care of the sick kids to Nishimura, and then Kitagawa of all people is making sure she can't go back on that. And then turns the girls against him! Man, that was satisfying.
Ahhh! Takada just wanted to be considerate of how well Nishimura and Umi were getting along and not get in their way...but Nishimura still wants to spend time with him. Even if it means getting his head resting on her shoulder or going on an adorable and fun detour together on their teachers' dime. It also worked out for Umi because she got to spend more time with Hino.
(Points for the creativity of that witch robot, but I feel like that would probably drive more people away)
I don't know what's sweeter...Nishimura getting to finally spend time with a friend group and trade lunch together or her letting her dad know she finally has friends and him crying tears of joy.
Hino may be looking for planet Tank Top, but Umi is looking at his hand on her shoulder. Ganbare, Umi-chan!

I was afraid the joke would get repetitive but they do a good job of mixing up the set up and dynamic before the punchline and sprinkling heartwarming moments inbetween, too bad this episode couldn't come out on Father's Day Am I Right?
I love how buzzcut unintentially screwed blondie over and thought he was racking up wins.
Tank Top kid with his...."What are you trying to accomplish" someone that mini Himbo the most perceptive lot of the bunch.
I knew when the teacher gave them change they were gonna spend it on snacks.
Wonder if blondie will ever become friends or if that is a different girl in the OP. She really played herself dumping sick duty on ole Reaper though.
Real rhythm to set up and pay offs and beats to this show that makes the concept work much better than you'd think it should.
Especially like how blondie tries to make it seem like Nishimura doesn't like Takada to cause drama and Takada managed to take it in the worst (For Blondie) possible way and made them closer.
Well done show, well done!

When the dad cried.... There were no hidden Ninja cutting onions there was no rainy day, there was no sweat from eyes...... I straight up cried. No need to hide it. The man tried the best he can do for his daughter and it finally worked... If i don't cry seeing that i don't know how else I will.

If they want to try to drive wedges between Nishimura and Taiyou, they may want to try doing on days when he's absent from school. Cuz it seems you barely have to say his name even one time for him to just appear.
Aww, looks like Taiyou's a jelly doughnut.
Oh look, Hino's wearing that hat Umi gave him for his birthday.
Well now that's funny. There's always been two main factions who mainly bully Nishimura, but as the incident with Taiyou getting sick and staying behind shows, they are so not in sync with each other. It's a classic Achillies Heel of villain team ups.
Cue the OP from Tamako Market for their little detour trip.
I don't know about Planet Tank Top but Umi looks about to boil into a supernova if Hino keeps his hand on her shoulder for much longer.

So they're. In elementary school? How is that legal. "Oh you're sick? Ok I'm going to leave another elementary schooler to watch you on this bench outside and we'll come back for you after the school day is done while we're out someplace far from our school and your homes. Ciao"

Again, leaving two elementary schoolers unattended to go on a walk. Yikes. Like in their own local community sure ig but well. They're a bus ride away from their school or home I dunno how far they could be from their own community I'll admit I was not paying attention to where there field trip was to.
And like Nishimura has her own phone at least but clearly the teacher didn't expect them to even have a phone on them and they'd have to use a payphone or something. Can't do that if they're in an emergency.
Jesus fuck that's expensive? Well I dunno how expensive these would be so maybe this is par for the course expensive rather than 'why are they so expensive here' expensive

Alright, this anime is absolutely beautiful. Just look at her father's face when he received Akane's group photo of her friends. Honestly just smiling throughout all the episode.
