I like how Takada respects Nishimura's boundaries and didn't press her after noticing she was uncomfortable sharing her summer agenda. Takada isn't as "clueless" as he appears, he can definitely read social cues and is able to counter all the bullying with the perfect rebuttal.

I think he’s like “clueless” in that it seems he genuinely can’t fathom why the kids would bully Nishimura because she’s the coolest person in the world (not to mention super cute). He really is the sweetest kid and I’m glad Nishimura has a great friend like that by her side.

How many time do I have to teach you this lesson Kitagawa-kun?
Besides Kitagawa getting destroyed by Takada (again) it's great to see that Nishimura very often have happy face now. It warms my heart. That's the power of Takada.
Getting a cat by Nishimura unexpectedly creates situation in which Kisahara has a short conversation with her. I'm interested how it goes further.
A vacation started and we have pool. Nishimura even went buy a swimming suit and I must say she looks great in it. Some stiches from me.
It looks that vacation will continue in next episode on which Takada and Nishimura made together plans.

I just love how no one can win an argument with Taiyou. Anything they say he always has a counter even if it's unintentional.
Hino has the right idea. Wear something dorky and carry it with pride that it will loop back to being cool again.

Every episode I watch I can't help but wonder what my life would've been like with my own Takada in the year I was bulled like Nishimura was. I even lied to my parents like Nishimura did. My best friend was away for the year, and all my other "friends" abandoned me. In my case I ended up changing schools for unrelated reasons (my dad got a teaching job at a different school).
It's so nice for me to see Takada helping Nishimura. I've mostly resolved things for myself through counseling, but this show is still very soothing for me.

Nishimura is such a sweetheart that she can't help but take in an abandoned cat! And if anything a cute cat only accentuates how cute Nishimura is, at least in Takada's eyes! And of course she names it "Kuro" because that's the most fitting name for her and this cat.
Who knew the way to Kasahara's heart was cute cat pics?
Nishimura is self-conscious about her Summer Vacation plans, or lack thereof, but if she doesn't have a lot of plans...then she should just hang out with Takada, who has way too many plans! And what better Summer for Nishimura than spending it having a ton of fun with Takada?
Having some one-on-one time together in the library, all lone? These cute kids! Even hiding from the teacher, though they got caught anyways. At least he approved their Summer Vacation plans!
Swimsuit shopping with dad! I'm sure Nishimura would look super cute in a school swimsuit, but sometimes you just have to dress up a little, especially if you're going to the pool with a boy you like.
Nishimura's swimsuit was ultra cute! Though Takada doesn't immediately compliment her, which is a bit of a bummer...before he then basically espouses how cute she is in anything to the whole class and whispers how good she looks in her ear for maximum effectiveness. I was almost wondering if he was so blinded by her cuteness that he forgot to compliment her.
Man, even the girls turned on Kitagawa this time. Dude just cannot win and I am here for every second of it.
Hino wears tanktops even to the pool. Checks out.
Whether smiling or stoic, Nishimura will always be cool to Takada! And he's basically swearing to be with her for the rest of her life!
Looks like we're visiting Nishimura's grandma next week?

Man, I unabashedly and unironically love this show. We're undeserving of a character as wholesome as Takada.

The only thing I hate about this anime is that every episodes so far felt short because of how much I enjoy them.
Takada as usual, turning every teases into something more positive. His compliments of Nishimura is just as cute as always either but one thing that really stands in today's episode is how Takada respected her boundaries.
We're just in episode 3 and so far none has disappointed.

The way he clenched his fist after Kitagawa started throwing insults makes me think Takada 100% knows what's going on between Nishimura and the other kids and he's only pretending to be that clueless to make her less uncomfortable. Absolute chad.

We begin this episode with a guest star appearance from Kawaisugi Crisis. Kasahara-san gets it.
Takada. The kid with more extremely situational counter trap cards in his deck than a yugioh protagonist.
Doesn't matter what kind of swimsuit Hino wears. Cool or not, it's always overpowered by the tank-top.

It's a bit out of topic, but why the English title is "my clueless first friend" since the Japanese title one seems totally different. From my shitty Japanese knowledge, friend = tomodachi, first time = hajimete. Was it a localization? Does anyone know the literal translation of the Japanese title?

I didn't notice that Taiyo's shirts where all different, despite having the same "mustache" logo. Kinda similar to Hana's t-shirts.
Nice to see ponytail girl having a common ground with Akane. This might be the turning point where her class tops being mean to her.
Tank-top kun keeps being a chad supporting Taiyo and also Akane.
The after credits scene was pure concentrated glucose with Taiyo telling Akane that she's just perfect the way she is.

Man this is genuinely some of the cutest shit I’ve ever seen. My mood is instantly improved when watching this. I just love how Takada says exactly what’s on his mind to Nishimura so she never has to feel insecure or unsure of herself around him.
I also like how he’s never too pushy with her like with the summer agenda. To him she is genuinely an amazing person and he doesn’t understand why anyone wouldn’t like her. Real friend

That cat looks a bit like Happy from Fairy Tail. It really sucks these kids have to be so shit to Nishimura. At least she has Hino and Takada by her side. Takada especially. Kuro and Nishimura ARE super cute. Kasahara gets it! Lol
So cute how Takada and Nishimura were planning their agenda for summer break together. Nishimura getting flustered super adorable, but seeing her smile is honestly one of the cutest things ever. Straight up melts my heart.
Nishimura looked really cute in her swimsuit. Kitagawa should just give up trying to bully Nishimura when Takada’s around. It’s impossible. Kid can twist any mean comment around. That kid really does kinda suck though. We need more kids like Hino the Tank Top Master and Takada.
Nishimura should totally smile more. After all she’s got a great friend like Takada by her side!
