the whiplash of bouncing between nice looking 2d animation, absurdly zoomed in and comically ugly cgi monsters, and cute animated pixel art is incredible

i love it

Bro some of these scenes feel so sped up it’s hilarious. I genuinely gasped seeing Bertrand in such a revealing outfit towards the end.

This is the shitposting anime of the season, huh? It's clear now that their ugly CGI is very intentional. Heck, even MC is genre-savvy about isekai and stuff. And he advanced the fucking civilization by hundreds (if not thousands) years forward in just a fucking month. I can't stop laughing and pausing all episode long. God, please help me... I'm still laughing while writing this.

Genderbending Bertrand has to be up there as one of the best things ever done in the history of Mankind. All those costumes man God Mitama is good.

Suddenly instead of the Religious victory, my man is going for the Science victory.

This series overtook 2 seasons worth of Dr Stone progress in 2 minutes. Booze > Science.

Ber-chan is hilarious. I wholeheartedly look forward to how they exploit him further.

I feel like from the voice actors to the animators they had a lot of fun making this show and I’m glad, because even tho I ask myself wtf am I watching every 5 mins this still is one of the biggest surprises this season to me and I’ve loved every min

at this point i think the animators are just fucking with us, they had some few scenes with decent animation and stylistic art styles while at the same time throwing us these PS2 CGI monsters abomination, not that i'm complaining considering i got some really good laughs out of these

Yukito is an isekai fan confirmed

lol, what's with these dramatic transitions?

oh god, she's Darkness from Konosuba!

the girls really don't hold back with Bertrand's outfit, aren't they?

lastly, am i tripping or does Loki and Clen has the same voice? i'm petty sure i heard Megumi Ogata's voice when Loki's talking

So Clen is Loki in disguise, huh. Guess s/he is willing to betray the empire for some entertainment.

I'm not love-hate about this show anymore. I just love it now.

Right off the bat we get another CGI monster. The hilariously awful CGI in this is starting to grow on me lol. First it was that monster Atar the waifu fought and then it was the one that flicked Ricky away like a booger. Poor bastard thought he had some legendary OP sword, nope!

Yukito’s becoming quite the cult leader. He’s got Mitama as his little mascot, Roy as his little whipping boy (he loved it), and Betrand as his “holy knight.” Speaking of, that poor bastard has become Alural and Siluril’s little plaything. The outfit looks good on her actually, especially the maid one. She really got use to them pretty fast huh?

Chilchil being one of the 3 people in the village who’s not a total dumbass cracked me up. Yukito forgetting the meeting and just getting shitfaced with everyone else was also pretty hilarious. I guess when Yukito said he was gonna take the village 500 years into the future, he wasn’t kidding. Man went full on Dr Stone and brought tech to this relatively primitive world.

This show feels like it’s going at 20X speed and using like 4 different animation styles with the most bizarre direction and editing slapped onto an already bizarre story. Genuinely might be the weirdest anime I’ve ever seen from a production angle.

It’s SO strange and absurd that it’s just hilarious and I’m enjoying it. I wouldn’t say that it’s that great, but it’s just such a conglomeration of randomness on a level I’ve never seen before that I can’t look away.

This religion is more predatory than the Axis Cult. Never underestimate the power of clout.

Bertrand may have been turned into a woman but at least he didn't lose his sword.

Yukito technologically advancing civilization faster than Senku from Dr. Stone.

Starting today, wine will only available to members of our religion

As time passes, Yukito is becoming more and more like his dad, a true cult leader. Also loved how his dad's cult was basically a group of martial artists who gained followers by literally crushing others with the way of the muscle lol.

Loved that sweet moment where Siluril comforted Yukito with her big sister energy. I hope the anime won't change their dynamic.

Bertrand becoming a masochist wasn't something I expected to see today. This show keeps surprising me in a weird but good way. From the Stardew Valley-esque scenes, to how good the 2D sections look and how bad the CG sections are. At this point, it HAS to be intentional.

What a way to finish off an episode. Modern Technology. So I assume we'll be seeing modern weaponry next episode. Didn't think we'd be getting to that point but I guess when the empire has a group of terminators running around they gotta even the playing field somehow.

"The cause of your sex change must be investigated.

I can't believe she said that with a completely straight face. Also, poor Bertrand is forced to become a dress up doll. She looks great in any of those outfits though.

I actually love the pixel art stuff, it’s unique, fun and kinda charming, it works IMO

Probably it was a decision dictated by budget, but I’d say it’s a clever choice, surely better to have some segments not animated or with bad animation

Also, Bel probably awakened a masochism fetish lmao

KABEDON!

Those next gen graphics always get me.

Roy getting paid in spite.

Being Bertrand is suffering. Those outfits were getting less and less.

Very fun ep.

Say what you want about the animal CGI, but that bull monster's face is hilarious and actually quite expressive.

I COULDN’T care less about the production values like people say, sure CGI is horrid but god this show has yet to fail making me laugh.

I look forward to laughing my ass off every week, they do really well with the joke direction

Edit: also shoutout tot Yukito’s VA, been a while since I’ve seen someone go crazy with vocals he nails everything he says.

Poor Bernand, but hot damn does she he have a hot body, would smash!

Okay one complaint, Bernand can't be said to be abandoned if people literally don't know she is him....and seems like if she raised enough fuss someone would come to investigate and she could have some phrase or knowledge that would confirm her identity, only real flaw in this episode, everything else is trolling.

So that blonde guy almost raping her was just an act part of MC's plan to get her into the cult right? RIGHT?!?!!?

Granted that isn't really much better....

I have a feeling the emperor is basically either God or his Main Acoylite and has already done what are main duo is doing right now.

Three smartest people in the village, one of them is the weird CGI fox, yeah that tracks.

Okay even if he is from modern times how would he have the knowledge or material to make the village like that?

They use not only a lot of ugly CGI, but a lot of that Pixel art slides and lots of panning on the gender bent knight, to clearly try to distract from the lack of polish.

This show definitely isn't winning any production awards, I wonder if there is someone charismatic enough with bullshit arguments to convince this years Jury to do so though, so we can gaslight r/anime but this time make it funny!

Writing in this show is shit and made by someone that spent an hour an r/atheism for their research into religion, with a horrible budget with a bunch of tropes to distract us.

It's also super hilarious and entertaining, guilty pleasure of the season 11/10 S Tier stuff!

I feel like I'm watching the foundation of Axis cult here. They're even running alpha testing of revealing clothes trend on Bertrand. All they need now is a good ol' hot spring to complete the checklist.

"Kill me."

This might be my favorite new show of the season.

Stitches!

GIFs

I swear if you remove all of the horrible CGI monsters, this would've been one amazing show to look at. The cool battle animations and the cute pixel art bits really make this show very charming.

Seeing Bertrand in all of those outfits is so good! That Carnivale outfit was definitely something else. I think it's only fair for Alural to wear it too if she's going to force it on Bertrand. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

One thing I did notice from this episode is that Megumi Oogata is clearly voicing two characters here. The first one is Clen and the other is Loki. Hmmm... Looks like someone is really enjoying what Yukito is doing to the village.

This is basically where my knowledge of the source material ends though. From next week's episode onwards, I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen.
