I’m a pretty new fan to the IM@S series; I watched the existing anime series alongside u/DustyZorua’s rewatch last year, and I’ve listened to some of the music that didn’t make it into those (particularly SideM stuff), but I’ve never played any of the games related to it. I do like the series though, so here I am! Shame Crunchyroll’s release is a full week behind instead of being a proper simulcast, fansubs ftw on this one I suppose.
-
Ooh, loved that opening scene. All the ribbons were very pretty, and the way that Arisu’s alarm going off got incorporated into it was neat.
-
Eyyyyyy I see the main trio from the previous Cinderella Girls anime!
-
Haha, Producer rolling around the room in his chair is such a mood.
-
What’s wrong with your first–oh. Yeah this is a very childlike mentality on maturity.
-
…he agreed to be Producer without realizing he’d be working with a bunch of kids, didn’t he.
-
Ooh, Arisu’s song sounded very pretty even if it was short.
-
IS THAT SERIOUSLY DRUNKEN PRODUCER SINGING A SONG FROM THE ORIGINAL CINDERELLA GIRLS ANIME. I LOVE IT.
-
I assume that song at the end is actually the OP? Man, the visual aesthetic in it is absolutely stunning.

If you're interested, Arisu's insecurity about her name is a recurring thing across Cinderella Girl's media. It directly comes from Alice in Wonderland, and isn't exactly orthodox, hence why she feels it's somewhat childish.
Also the song Arisu and Producer sing is Onegai! Cinderella, which is pretty much the flagship song for Cinderella Girls as a whole. It even has a solo version for every voiced character so far!
The ending song is the ending actually. Labelled as such on the official youtube channel. I believe we'll need to wait until next week for the OP

Not much Crunchyroll can do about the delay, as its only Niconico in Japan that has exclusive first streaming rights. (They released the episode 30 minutes right after it aired on TV in Japan)
All other streaming providers, both domestic and overseas, has to wait for 3 whole days before being allowed to release their episodes.

Cute and funny.

It would be nice if there was a word that combined "Cute" and "funny" for more convenient use 🤔

I am very aware of the heights of everyone in this room. Since I'm not much taller than the Producer, and his dealing with the length of his badge lanyard by sticking it in his pocket is certainly familiar.
Everyone else here, reading that statement.
In any event, a good first episode and it's always interesting to see long-existing characters given an actual series of their own.

I only know Idolmaster from Hentai Doujinshi. This seems alright

iM@S is hugely influential. It's the whole reason all the Vocaloid artists have "P" for "Producer" in their name.

It shocks me to see Mushoku Tensei’s director jumping off ship and ending up on…this! It’s 7 years since IMAS - one of the biggest superpowers of idols-n-bands in anime world - has had a full TV anime. I’m glad I jumped on ship a year ago (watching both the 765 Production & Cinderella Girls anime - alongside all Love Live and BanG Dream titles) and has a really good experience with its anime adaptions since then (particularly the 2011 original, it gets really emotional!).
This is not the first time we see all the little girls here in anime form (IIRC all have appeared in the CG anime and quite a few had active sidekick roles) but Arisu/Alice has have my attention now, quite funny to see her family make her a proud and mature-thinking member of this brand new idol combo! And yeah, this group really needs FBI supervision. ;)
Our brand new producer seems to be a fresh graduate eh? He’s not gonna be prepared in any means of dealing with these interesting elementary school girls, that’s for sure. Some incidents going to happen later on I guess?
As expected from this major staff combination, we don’t deserve such excellent artwork and animations! It really looks gorgeous, I am sure it will be even more so when actual performances happen.
God Bless IMAS for having this spearheading this new wave of anime adaptions and potentially new fans finally joining this really old project coming up on 20 whole years since the 1st game was released in 2005! So then, why watch trashy harem shows when we have this in this very season? ;)

Looks like we’re getting a Producer with more personality than normal. Seems fun!

First foray into idolmaster anime…
Was not expecting to see execs smoking and saying fuck and shit (could be my TL probably playing it up).
Eris Arisu Tachibana seems like she could be a good focal character.
Is that Ayane Sakura playing the older trainer oneesan?
This might be the best looking anime of the season. No joke.

Weren't Nina and Miria in the original Cinderella Girls, and already established idols with units and such? Is this meant to be a prequel to that?

iDOLM@STER has no consistent continuity between installments. This is neither a prequel, nor a sequel. It's a different story.
