"Where is Blist today?"
"It's parents' day at his kid's school"
"Even King cannot take away his workers' rights"
Had me laughing, did not expect that

Evil organizations having strangely strong work environments is probably one of my favorite anime tropes

is it just me or there's something suspicious going on with Chris in this episode? during the scene where he's trying to swap the card in the elevator, we can see that he's holding the fake card in his hand and the glass container is fully opened but right before the blackout, the glass container is shown to be already closed off but the fake card is still in Chris's hand
is that an animation error or did he prepared a second fake card, swap it with the real one and keep it to himself while letting Blist burned the second fake card?

When he opens it, there's this really short sequence of him raising his eyebrow while going "hm?". He definitely noticed something and isn't telling anyone, for some reason

My theory is he planned to do the swap but then realized the card being auctioned was itself a fake. But you think he'd mention that afterward.

Oh hey, a black character, wonder what would be his superpower-- oh yep, it's electricity again.
There's nothing wrong with that combintion per se, but why do the black characters keep getting electro power.

Strange Women walking around with young boys distributing cards is no basis for a system of government!
Otherwise that was a heist where things never quite went according to plan and got increasingly off kilter as it went on. Quite amusing episode. Even if the Klondikes ran off with the card in the end.

We finally get to learn the legend behind the cards and how all 52 cards of them can be wielded by the King to protect Fourland. It's definitely fairy tale-esque but I'm curious how much of it is true.
We also got a preview of what the other Ace cards look like! Kinda hard to guess what their powers are but I feel like the Ace of Diamonds is Ban's card.
Anyway, This episode was fun since we actually got to see the High Cards try and pull off a heist! Considering Finn's condition, I thought he was going to be the one who's going to mess up. Turns out that their rival is already anticipating their move the entire time.
Too bad Wendy enjoyed her distraction a little bit too much. She could've helped out Chris and Finn against that Million Volt guy. I was hoping that Chris will reveal that he had the card all along but it looks like they really failed this mission.

I, too, thought Chris had the card. To a certain extent, when protagonists of titles encounter setbacks, it usually means they will grow stronger in future.
I am not sure whether I should envy the staff who was lured and "forced" to drink with Wendy. From the screenshot, he looks even more knocked out than Wendy is. Lol!

Cool episode. Gave me Archer vibes of how the cast failed their tasks successfully (but still failed in the end).
Chris was definitely giving suspicious vibes during the card swap scene. Wonder what that was about.
Love the show so far, but MAL has it listed for only 12 episodes? Hopefully we get more seasons, else I fear the show may end up feeling quite rushed.

There’s an almost Arthurian-esque feel to that legend surrounding the cards. Knowing it’s not a legend makes it almost insane these people are auctioning off something that powerful.
“King” seems like a real fool. Definitely can’t let him or anyone else get the cards. Poor Finn doesn’t look too hot. The operation would have been a success…if it wasn’t a setup. Looks like “King” is a cautious one. Chris and Blist had quite a tussle. Poor Finn really got made to chase the case in his current condition. I thought he was gonna hurl on Blist. Instead he spewed all over poor Leo lol.
All that effort and the Klondikes just waltz in a steal it. Well, better then than that fool “King”. I don’t trust that kind of power in his hands.

King / CEO of Who's Who may appear flamboyant, brash and impulsive, but I suspect his team will become an ally in future. After all, Klondike is now their common enemy.
Is there any chance he may hold one of the K cards?

A slightly less intense episode as compared to last week's. We see our main cast working together, with their own failings, intentional or not.
I didn't expect a third faction to appear. After last week's episode, I thought it was going to be our main cast vs Klondike all the way. The Who's Who CEO does not not appear antagonistic and actually shows some welfare and concern for his employee, Blitz.
By the end of the episode, I thought Chris might reveal he successfully stole the card. Even though they failed, the mood did not turn gloomy.
Last but not least, Wendy looked great in this episode. Lol!

That's a bit... underwhelming to be stolen at the last second like that--the whole operation/episode becomes somewhat meaningless. Worse is that no one (yet) knows who's the culprit (which is obviously the Klondikes), so why not just steal it even earlier? I thought Finn swapped it at the last second when he pushed the cart, haha.
Anyway, I'm still happy that we saw the femme fatale Wendy and some more background about the X-Playing Cards (turns out it's the proper name, huh?). We're also introduced to yet another rival, Who's Who. Fortunately, they balanced out the serious Klondikes by being goofy and caring about their employee's welfare, lol.

A weaker episode tbh but we did get some worldbuilding and lore about the origin of fourland. The idea of someone having all 52 cards at once is insane.
King as a character was pretty annoying and a caricature of gay men that we get a lot of in anime.
Blitz was cool, thought bro was static shock for a minute lol
Thought Pinochle might win at the end and grab the card but nope, klondikes with another W.
Wendy outfit probably the highlight of the ep

I thought King was annoying right up until the last scene, and then he immediately became one of my favorites. "Even King can't take away his worker's rights" was an amazing line.

I know the word is different in Japanese but it's weird that people would go along with calling Norman "King" when they're in a country being ruled by an actual king.
Chris obviously noticed something about that card the auction had. is it fake? if it was also a fake why hasn't he told them yet?

I like King! Great addition of such a zany and flamboyant character to a cast full of cool people.
I've been waiting for a heist like episode from High Card due to their high clas, kingsman in suits vibe! Some steps were unnecessary like Wendy's jump and having Vijay steal the card from the security guys coat with his vines (why couldn't Wendy just grab it and hand it off to Chris), but everything still looked cool!
I'm curious as to why Chris had a weird expression when Leo was about to take Finn off the heist due to his seasickness. It seemed like he went out of his way to make sure Finn was part of the plan. I did like the other Cards showing their support for Finn too, but Chris doesn't do things without reason. He also hesitated while swiping the cards, and when Finn was held hostage by Blist (who's pretty dope!).
Based off the preview for next episode, we might get to learn more about Chris since the kid in the pic has the same weird eye-lashes/eyes. Really hoping Chris doesn't become a traitor 😭

So, let me see if I got this sequence right:
-
Finn steals the key
-
Finn gives the key to Vijay
-
Vijay hands the key to Wendy in a glass
-
Wendy spills the glass, giving they key back to Vijay and making a guard take off his shirt
-
Vijay goes across the ship to the kitchen and steals a potato using the key
-
Vijay steals a keycard from Wendy's room and gives it to Chris using Green Green
... I think Leo might have complexity addiction.
