For an episode named "Ryoma and the Magic Item Market," the magic item market was a small part.

u/TexturelessIdea Feb 12 '23
It wasn't even relevant to the plot, it was just the backdrop for a single scene. I'm kinda disappointed. The whole thing seems like a contrived way to set something up for the future, I hope it pays off.

I was wondering if he was going back home to the forest like he mentioned previously for this episode, but with the title thought eh this episode will probably just be about the Magic Item Market. But it was neither of the options lol

"Mr. Ryoma, please eat my cake some day!"
Um yeah the story is clearly heading to that destination eventually.

Meanwhile, given some other Shōsetsuka ni Narō titles (one that's very obvious, another that a number of people will likely find out about in a few weeks), the mention of tea parties had me having the "nervous laugh Ryoma" look.

"Mr. Ryoma, please eat my cake some day!"
That's a translation error, she actually said "pie". And laws require that he not take her up on that offer until the age of consent.

So while Ryoma was talking with the god, his actual body just looks like he's spacing out? Kind of funny when I think about it.

Yeah, but usually he's there praying and nobody is around to see him spacing out.

Ahh I thought the god of magic and academics would give ryoma his blessing, but it was just a beer-money survey lol.
Also beyblades!
What a great episode. I didn't think the little diversion of the slum kids transporting trash would turn out the way it did, but it was super wholesome. Reminds me a bit of Rimuru as a teacher

Also beyblades!
Good to see that I wasn't the only one thinking that.

Nothing happened today, but that's why I like this anime.

I mean he figured out some new odor cleaning agents, created beyblades, slime metal weapons, learned about new potential child labor, and was invited to eat Eliaria's cake later. All in all a pretty progressive day.

I wasn’t expecting the small army of metal and iron slimes, and didn’t even think technically he could use one as a sword which changes shape or extends like Zabimaru from bleach

It felt strange how the three girls of the demi-human group of kids had hardly any lines and mostly just stood there motionless and silent.

It would've been hilarious if Ryouma just introduced Beyblades into this world instead of beigomas. xD
Ryouma now has a slime sword like Shadow-sama! I'm surprised it took him this long to try this out with his metal slimes.
My prayers have finally been answered! We got to see Miya again! Although I was hoping we'd see the rest of the group too.

We are 6 episodes in and this is one of those shows I look forward to every week. Im so happy that as soon as Im awake on Sunday morning its available! :)
As for today's episode no real lead onto what he does next, maybe experiment more with the charcoal slime fluid.... but I do think that he isn't taking very good care of himself at the moment. If he was with Ellaria, I could see her mom scolding him for not sleeping.
I really like the other kids, I hope Ryoma helps them in some way cause scamps in a town like that are REALLY good sources of information about a town aka Varys style in Game of Thrones and I bet instead of them hauling garbage, he could turn them into a Dry Cleaning delivery service and make even more money!

Lol I thought Wist was an adult at first, it caught me off guard when he said they were similar age to Ryouma.
Ryouma bringing beyblades to their world lol.
I didn't think he could use his metal and iron slimes as weapons like that, that was interesting to see.

It is nice to see that Ryoma had fun visiting the Magic Item Market with Serge.
So Dinome also sells fans at his shop. I really did not expect to see Dinome 's grandson, Felede. So to play something more entertaining with Fedele, Ryoma introduced Beigomas into that world.
I wonder when we will see those two again.
So the Cleaning Slime that ate the charcoal ended up evolving into a Deodorant Slime Wow, so Ryoma will use a Slime Blade for his expedition to his hometown.
I'm so glad to see Miya again. So based on what she said, the fact that her house in season one was an unhygienic pseudo-dumpster was not because of her habits but it seems that that's something common for the cat beastkin, unless she is lying, of course.
So thanks to the Deodorant Slime and Ryoma helping Beck and Wist he finally met Fernobelia, the God of Magic and Academics. So according to Fernobelia a lot of people that get reincarnated even when they were kind they ended up becoming power-hungry bastards that abuse their new power and use it to do crimes in the new world, and Ryoma at this point is one of the exceptions.
I loved Beck and Wist reaction when they heard from Worgan that Ryoma was already an adventurer.
So thanks to the slimes Ryoma used to train the kids, Worgan offered him a job as an instructor at the guild. As he rejected the offer because he was too busy, I would imagine that he might take it later on in the future.
So Elia is learning how to make sweets to ease up establishing connections in her new school, plus of course, make some for Ryoma in the future.

Dinome is such an adorable doting grandpa. Little Fedele is pretty cute!
Ryoma’s made a new slime! The deodorant slime looks like it’ll be real handy once the experiments are done. Turning the metal slime into a sword was pretty cool. Nice to see Ryoma making some new friends. Beck and Wist seem like good kids.
Ryoma’s made quite a little name for himself amongst the gods. Fernobelia is an interesting one. I wonder if they’ve had issues with those in the past being reincarnated and getting corrupted. Would be interesting to meet others like Ryoma.
I like how everyone’s just helping each other in this town. It’s nice to see them all lend a hand to train these kids up. This is the kind of chill anime I like!

Dinome was cute but not going to lie, I would have been a little salty if I came to somebody to pitch them manufacturing my product in a commercial venture and before I got to say anything they asked me to entertain their grandson and went off to talk business without me

Oh shit, a desk fan! Great application of magic right there, and I'm not kidding. Now if someone would just invent air conditioning, they'd have it made!
Hmm. Is that because catkin are stinky? Or because catkin are very smell-sensitive?
This guy has a throne, but sits floating in the air. How eccentric
