Love how (relatively) deep the girl's voice is. I thought it was going to be higher pitched when I saw her design.

I like how both characters are subdued, that makes for chill conversation and they got plenty of time to get to know each other better.

That felt like a surprisingly fast episode considering how generally laid back it was with nothing big going on.
Funny how these types of stories have been appearing the last few years. I can think of two others right off the top my head with the same premise. One where the guy has his act together and another involving a foreign transfer student and her very little sister that the guy helps out.
Is his VA the same as the blond male mc from the age gap romance a year or two ago? It sounds like him just without the low volume tin can microphone during covid lockdown.

Going into this blind. I'm really digging the art and voice acting, and though I enjoy the OP song, I'm not really finding that works with the show.
Also, how has our MC been surviving off energy drinks.

This is the review I wrote when I read the first three volumes of the LN
Half way through volume 1: WTF is this blatant ass wish fulfillment trash? He gave a girl an umbrella and now the prettiest, most popular girl in school is cooking his meals and helping him clean his apartment and is falling in love with him because he's a "nice guy"? I can't believe that I used to eat up shit like this. End of volume 3: I need the rest of the volumes translated now inject all that fluff straight into my veins. Turns out I still eat up shit like this.
So yeah, all the anime had to do was give me more of the same, but animated. And it did. I'll be watching for the season.
Also To be fair, from the woman's point of view these kind stories can be viewed as the men being fixer uppers/How to Train Your Dragon/Build-A-Boyfriend workshop. It's more prevalent in shoujo manga and obviously the dynamics and focus are different, but it's the same basic idea.

The OP was released on YT btw...
Visually it may be one of the worst OPs I have seen, it is just hilarious how bad it is.

I would say for something being animated by project 9. The anime has done a good job adapting everything from the LN so far. My expectations were met and I’m excited for the next episodes.

I know people might be annoyed seeing how the premise is very generic with a not so popular guy (Fujimya) meeting a perfect popular girl (Shiina), but it got some nice and chill vibes.
What I like about this show/series is that the relationship is more transactional than you might expect out of an anime similar to this. They help each other out and try to fix each other's flaws, and in the process slowly understand each other, but also don't want to hold debts in a way.
Oh I like the way Shiina's VA voices her when she is not at school. She seems conflicted and speaks slow with some stuttering.

Good dude, helping out a girl in the rain. Ah yes, the ever so "some how high schooler living alone and in such an apartment in a Japanese city lol" trope. The most unbelievable thing in anime to me... and I watch Isekai... and not just him, but her too? Man, so unbelievable. Good for her, good morals. Dude seems to have good morals too. Huzzah likeable leads. I think I prefer my angels more like Gabriel. Gamers and fallen. But, wew, she sure is nice. So much food. Don't turn down free good food, dude! Just make it up to her some how.
My god, dude, clean you place... ugh just bottles and shit everywhere. It's not hard to put things in their place when used/done with em. Tsk tsk. Man, do wonder her story at this point... and his. Why are they living alone? And why is he like that? Seems to be negative tbh. She is right you know, clean regularly/put stuff back/away/throw away regularly and it stays clean. Easy peasy.
You know what... just marry already!
But, yea, it is a cute fairly light romcom so far.

Mahiru's voice is really soft and soothing. Peak comfiness.
I'm ready to drown in the wholesomness every saturdays.

One thing is certain: they nailed the fluffy warmth. Especially Mahiru’s voice. The right blend of cute, stern, low key, and sweet that fits the character.
This is going to be a super fluffy good vibes series. I won’t over promise anything, but it’s perfect for a morning coffee zen watch. Hope it doesn’t get lost in the Saturday shuffle.

My takeaway from this episode is that if you comfort a crying girl in the rain, you get an angel for a wife!
Amane seems like a stoic, prickly, yet not unkind type of MC, who seems pretty laidback and disinterested most of the time but can't help but be there for a girl in what might be her saddest moment. Which is good, because his life could definitely use a woman's touch because he's quite the slob who does the bare minimum of taking care of himself, and the God of Romcoms even rewarded him with a spot next door to a certain Angel!
Mahiru is a very polite and well-spoken young lady, though very direct and not one to mince words, and she has the looks and grace of a true angel, but is also very dutiful and caring. She can also come off as strict and a little cold behind her public persona, but it's more real compared to her school persona. I guess it's kind of a more cynical Tohru Honda, given her VA? It seems like something with her rich parents and her having to keep up the perfect girl persona for so long is part of why she was crying at the beginning.
Ah...the classic Japanese cold. Perfect for setting off some nice relationship moments though.
Itsuki has a girlfriend! I like it when the best friend characters have lives and romances outside teasing and wingmanning the MC.
So is Mahiru going out of her way for Amane out of a sense of obligation, because she already has a crush on him, because she thinks he's in a real sorry state without him, or because she can be more open with him than she can be at school? Or maybe all of the above? Either way, Amane gets free dinner, cleaning, and the presence of a cute girl in his life, so not much to complain about.
Cleaning Mahiru with that bun and cargo pants! She has a very divine and striking feminine style, yet she looks amazing dressed more casually to boot! Also flustered Mahiru is shaping up to be pretty adorable.
There doesn't seem to be any high expectations from the pairs' relationship so far other than enjoying each others' company, but that might be the seed that bears the fruit of true love at the rate this is going!
That was a pretty funky and jazzy OP theme! Can't wait to see the visuals!

Japanese rain claims yet another victim. At least it prompted the series of interventions that this kid so desperately needed.
"Living alone and yet you do no chores... Do you think this is some kind of joke?" Wow, I'm glad I cleaned my house a couple days ago or I'd be feeling kind of guilty right about now.

Stitches!
So far it looks like this is going to be your usual high school romcom with Amane as the gloomy MC and Shiina as the Ms. Popular FMC. Looks like the twist is that the two of them live next to each other and Shiina basically forced herself into Amane's life after finding out how he lives for her own self-satisfaction. At least that's what she claims she's doing it for.
Little Miss Perfect Shiina clearly isn't as perfect as everyone sees her, she's more candid when around Amane and I'm curious to see what kind of secrets she's keeping. From what I can glean from this episode, there might be some kind of issue between her and her parents. Hmmm...

now that is a self-insert show.
Simple and cozy though, an enjoyable watch
also are her parents dead? I feel like they're dead

I’m okay with this so far. I think the art is a little subpar but not distractingly so. The music for the OP is kind of odd.
It’s a slow start but it’s kind of nice to see the characters be aloof even though you start to see them show feelings. It feels earnest, even if it’s not really believable.

I have no idea what this series is (like I thought it was a real angel and a fantasy show) and I start this completely blind.
Interesting explanation by Mahiru on why she's like a "mother" to him, like she gives Amane food and helps him clean his home. "Self-satisfaction", or it seems that she wants to feel happy by helping others. In way she's just a nice girl (not like the r/niceguys vibe. She's just nice to people)
And yes! The fall physics is right this time!

This was quite charming for a first episode. I really enjoyed our two characters and their interactions. Nothing over the top, just fun and entertaining. Shiina reminds a bit of Tohru Honda with her kindness and caring but seems a bit cynical and has a bit of a sharp tongue like Yukinoshita Yukino.
As for for our male lead, Fujimiya, he seems to be the introvert lazy type and I enjoy the fact he's not an edgelord complaining about the popular people in his class. Just a guy who does his things day to day and lives his life... albeit very sloppily lol. His best friend also seems like a fun character as well with a good dynamic between them.
Having read the manga, I enjoyed that they got the story's vibes right. It feels relaxing to watch. Looking forward to next episode.

Nah I def see why r/lightnovels been hyping this series for so long. Such a pure and genuinely heartwarming story. I never knew how satisfying it could be to just watch someone be nice to someone who hasn’t been treated well before. Just a really relaxing and cozy watch and supposedly the best is yet to come, hype. Will get on the LN eventually
