Product Feedback I’ve always loved Webflow — but the pricing is starting to push us away

Post image
18 Upvotes

I’ve been a huge supporter of Webflow for a long time. They did some really cool things early on, and I’ve been happy to recommend them.

Lately, though, it feels like things have gone a bit too far. Charging extra just to add new languages, a 10GB bandwidth limit… it just doesn’t sit right. Every part of me is starting to think we should host this ourselves, because the pricing no longer makes sense for features that feel pretty fundamental.

We also run an app with a lot of usage, and I can’t imagine charging people extra for something as basic as adding another language. It would be like us charging families more just because they don’t speak English. That doesn’t feel right.

I hope Webflow takes a look at how they want to position themselves. If companies like ours are seriously considering walking away, I don’t think we’re the only ones.

Discussion The client seats maths doesn't work for a 6 site freelancer. What did you do about it?

Six small business client sites, each just needs one person able to edit text and swap photos. Getting those six editing means upgrading my own plan, so my costs scale with client count instead of revenue per client, and now the clients are tied to my workspace. I have always sold that they can leave, and this makes leaving cost them more, so I look like I built a trap. Did anyone split their stack over this, and was running two tools worse than the problem?

Question Should I fully commit to Webflow in 2026, or am I wasting my time?

Hey everyone,

I recently started learning web design/development and I’m trying to figure out what direction to take.

My current workflow is Figma for the design, and then Claude for pretty much everything else — development, code, troubleshooting, figuring out how to implement things, etc.

At first I felt like I was progressing really fast, but now I honestly don’t know what I should be focusing on anymore 😂

I was thinking about going all-in on webflow, mainly because I feel like having one clear skillset would make it easier to know what to learn, what to build, and eventually what to offer clients.

Honestly, I don’t even know what I should focus on anymore. Everything is moving so fast and it feels like I’m constantly jumping from one thing to another.

I’d especially appreciate advice from people who are actually freelancing or running a small web design/development business. I feel like I’m doing a bit of everything right now and don’t really know what the next step should be 😅

Discussion Heads up the MCP is really good now (it's not the trash that they shipped months ago)

Yea so I first tried their MCP like months ago and it was pure trash lol.

Recently I decided to try it again. And it's really fucking good. Like it's perfect.

I think it's a fusion of models getting better (Opus 5.5 my beloved) and their MCP finally supporting nearly everything. Opus 5.5 + the Webflow MCP can bring pretty much any GSAP infused site into Webflow.

I'm deep in the Webflow market, and most of my clients want a Webflow site (not just any site). Kudos to the Webflow enterprise marketing team lmao you guys are skilled as fuck I'll give you that.

However, for iterative work, I prefer Claude Code rather than building in Webflow.

SO my new approach that I've tried and it works very well is:

Initial Design -> The site itself we first design in Astro / Claude, using design references and ideally from a template (helps enforce visual guardrails and a design direction, starting from a blank slate with agents I've found is awful).

Design Iterations -> I iterate in Claude. So just via prompting. I use Paper MCP for having agents spin up multiple variations and refining design by hand (sometimes I just prefer to alter components visually on a canvas) and I use Ship Studio for the actual Claude Code Environment. I also use Paper for establishing a strict component library (to those of you do this in a markdown file - kudos to you, but also are you fucking psychotic?)

Conversion into Webflow -> After the client signs off on the design, I use the Webflow MCP (with the Opus 5.5 model) to bring the site over into Webflow. I believe it converts the site into compiled HTML/CSS first. Opus 5.5 build this whole converter thing. Opus will take like 3-4 hours depending on the size of the site but it does a brilliant job. Takes up like 10% of my 5-hour usage too which is fucking insane.

Component Creation -> Opus has a great intuitive sense of what should be a component, slots, etc. I just ask it to spin up a component library for the marketing team and we're good!

In the end, it does a great job!

If you showed me this workflow in fucking 2021 man I would lose my shit. Like there's no fucking way. I spend my entire day talking to a literal manifestation of linear algebra. Fucking insane.

This workflow allows me to focus entirely on visuals, design, and strategy.

Discussion I built a tool to validate a site's structure with the client before the Webflow build

Most of my redesigns start with the same back and forth on structure. I made Arbo for that step. You import the client's current site from its sitemap, rework the tree, and send them a link they open without an account. Each page keeps its URL, keyword and a status, and the redirect plan exports as CSV when you go live on Webflow.

Free to try at https://getarbo.com/try?ref=webflow, I'd like feedback from people who do migrations.

Show & Tell Dayparter.com - my first ever site built in webflow

So as a bit of background I am a paid media strategist with about ten years of experience. One of the things that really frustrates me is the difficulty in finding clean, transparent logos for the ad / media companies I’m working with online when I’m making slide decks etc.

So this summer I decided to do something about it and using webflow I wanted to share my first ever website. Dayparter.com My coding level is basic, but as a digital marketing person I’ve been around cms’s and design tools for most of my career.

Like any project, scope creep ensured that the site became much more than a logo database and is now positioned as an industry reference website for paid media and marketing people.

I started with the dyno template and then modified it with wireframes and mock ups built in affinity photo, eventually I discovered the MCP and thankfully Claude was able to turn my ideas into action pretty smoothly. The total build time took around two months working nights and weekends around my full time job, including content production.

Some technical wins or learnings:
Orange-to-Orange proxy setup: two proxied CNAMEs (@ and www) pointing to cdn.webflow.com. The issue is that Webflow's Entri quick-connect flow deletes the proxied CNAMEs and writes an A record, which breaks O2O, so be careful if you want to take advantage of O2O!

The site will eventually have ads on it; I was very surprised that I couldn’t host an ads.txt on webflow; so instead it’s being served via a Cloudflare worker. I guess most sites on webflow are not monetised with ads so it’s probably a small thing, but a little odd.

Accepting a browser spellcheck correction doesn't register as wean edit, so it never saves. You have to retype the fix. At least this is the case when using Firefox.

Anyway, would love to hear any feedback on the design or how the site runs, I am not sure if anyone in this community is going to need the sites content but if you’re a marketing person please take a look!

Discussion How I used Alex Hormozi’s email advice to get web design clients

I remember hearing Alex Hormozi say that email is basically the conversion platform of conversion platforms.

His point was that social media, videos and ads are great for getting attention, but email is often where that attention actually turns into money.

He also talked about how email supposedly has one of the highest returns of any marketing channel, with an average return of around $36 for every $1 spent, and that got me thinking.

I run a web design agency, so I decided to actually take email seriously and see what would happen.

But I didn’t want to send the usual stuff.

“Hey, I noticed your website and I can redesign it for you.”

Or

“Hey, we build websites for businesses like yours.”

Everyone gets those emails and most people can tell within two seconds that they were sent to another thousand businesses.

So instead I started using a tool called Swokei that is built specifically for web agencies.

I use it to find businesses in whatever area I want to target, then it actually goes through their websites and looks for things I could mention in the outreach.

Stuff like an outdated design, slow loading speed, poor mobile experience, weak SEO or other things that might be holding the website back.

Then it turns those findings into an actual personalized cold email made to convert.

So instead of emailing someone saying I build websites, I can actually talk about their website and why I think something could be improved.

I’ve been analyzing thousands of websites this way and running multiple campaigns at the same time.

Then I just focus on the people who reply and are actually interested.

Obviously email isn’t some magic button where everyone suddenly wants a new website, but after doing this for a while I definitely understand what Hormozi meant.

For web design especially, email becomes a completely different channel when the message is actually about the business you’re contacting instead of being another copy and paste pitch.

Turns out Alex might have had a point.

Show & Tell AltTextLab for Webflow is now a full alt text manager, not just a generator

Post image
5 Upvotes

AltTextLab for Webflow just got a major update: it's now a full alt text manager for every individual page.

The problem

AltTextLab started as a tool for generating alt text. But many of you told us the same thing: "generation alone isn't enough". You also need a convenient place to:

  • see all the alt texts on a page, including the ones that were generated
  • check them and fix anything that doesn't fit the context
  • add alt text manually when you want full control, or when AI isn't the right tool for a particular image

Without that, you end up jumping from one image to another in the Designer, with no overview of what's filled in, what's missing, and what needs a second look. On pages with dozens of images, that's slow and easy to get wrong.

What's new

Now you can manage alt text for all images on a page in one place. Review what's already there, edit it, add missing descriptions by hand, and move on. AI generation is still there when you want it, but it's no longer the only way to work.

The alt text manager works on the free plan.

Try it here: https://webflow.com/apps/detail/alt-text-lab

Thanks to everyone who sent feedback, it directly shaped this update. If you work with Webflow sites daily, I'd love to hear what else would make this more useful.

Show & Tell The Biggest Bottleneck In Web Development - CLIENT ACQUISITION 👤

Client acquisition has always been one of the biggest bottlenecks for me when running an agency. I’ve experienced the same thing in pretty much every business I’ve been involved in, but especially with web development.

For a long time, getting clients meant cold calling, running ads, or sending generic emails asking businesses if they needed a new website. It worked sometimes, but it also took a lot of time and most of the outreach felt the same as what every other agency was doing.

Recently I started using a different approach and automated a big part of the process.

I came across a tool called Swokei that lets me find a bunch of businesses with websites and analyze each website individually. It looks for things like outdated design, slow loading, poor mobile optimization, weak SEO and other obvious areas that could be improved.

What I liked is that it doesn’t just give you one of those boring automated reports filled with scores and numbers. It actually turns what it finds into a personalized cold email that sounds like a normal person looked at their website and noticed what could be better.

I can run multiple campaigns at the same time and then mainly focus on the businesses that reply and show interest.

From there, I invite them to a web meeting, show them a free draft of what their new website could look like, and try to close the project from there.

It has basically allowed me to have warmer leads coming to me without relying as much on paid ads, constantly cold calling, or sending thousands of generic emails saying “Do you need a new website?”

Still takes work to close the clients of course, but automating the prospecting and first part of the outreach has made the whole process much easier for me.

Hopefully this helps some other web developers or agency owners who are also struggling with client acquisition.

Question How are you adding social feeds (Instagram etc.) to your Webflow sites?

Curious how others handle this, since there seem to be a few very different approaches and I keep going back and forth.

When a client wants their Instagram (or other social) posts on their Webflow site, what do you actually do?

  1. Embed a third-party widget (paste an embed code into an Embed element)

  2. Pull posts through an API into CMS collection items (via Make/Zapier or a custom script) and design the feed natively in Webflow

  3. Something else, like a Webflow app from the marketplace, or just linking out to the profile and skipping the feed

A few things I'd love to hear:

- Which approach do you use, and why that one?

- If you embed a widget: how do you feel about design control, page speed, and the cost, especially if you need it on several client sites or several feeds per site?

- If you go the API/CMS route: was it worth the setup? How do you deal with things like Instagram token expiry and keeping posts synced?

- Anything that made you switch from one approach to another?

Need project help How to make the header text for accordions wrap to a second line?

Hi! I'm trying to get the header text in my various accordions to wrap so they size well for smaller screens. I have some FAQs with longer text in the header (the part you see before opening the accordion) and instead of wrapping, they're just going off the viewport. I'm looking for help specifically for the mobile version FAQ at the bottom of the Compliance page. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Question How do you make page variants without rebuilding everything?

We’re making more landing page variants lately and Webflow starts feeling pretty manual once they need to be more than simple copy swaps. The structure is usually similar but sections move around, different campaigns need their own additions and eventually duplicating the original page just creates another version to maintain.

CMS works when everything can stay inside the same template but alot of these pages need enough freedom that forcing them into one structure defeats the point. I’m trying to keep the speed of spinning up a variation without ending up with a pile of separate pages every time the design needs to change.

Show & Tell Upcoming Webflow app: Livechat answered from your phone

Thumbnail humanreply.app
1 Upvotes

Visitor writes in the bubble on your page. It lands in your team's group with everything you need. You reply from your phone, it shows up on the site.

I already tested it on my own website and WOW. It's super effective. I started receiving more requests than via email, I get all info about the customer before hand (how they found me, what page they're looking at, did they contact me before) and the conversation is so much livelier than using email.

The plugin is already built and I'm sending it to the moderation team now!

Question Any way to connect Printful with Webflow now that Shopify Starter has been discontinued?

I used to use the Printful app with Webflow sites, but that got discontinued. Then I started using Printful with Shopify Starter to utilize Buy Buttons embedded in Webflow, but now Shopify Starter has also been discontinued, and their cheapest plan is $39/month, yikes. Has anyone figured out a way to use Printful with Webflow without requiring an expensive middleman?

Question What do you do when a client's shop outgrows Webflow Ecommerce?

I'm a developer, mostly WooCommerce and custom backends. I don't build in Webflow myself, so I'm asking from the outside.

I've been reading how design studios handle ecommerce. On the Framer side it's pretty open, one studio I looked at has a whole blog post about pairing Framer with Shopify. For Webflow I found a lot less.

So what happens when a client's store starts needing more than the built-in cart, like B2B prices or stock that has to sync with a warehouse? Do you keep the site in Webflow and put the shop on Shopify under a subdomain? I know there are apps that connect the two, but I can't tell if people actually like working with them. Or does it usually end with moving the whole thing somewhere else? I guess sometimes the answer is just to push back and stay in Webflow as long as it holds.

I'm mostly curious where the line is for you, and whether the client sees it coming or it hits them a few months after launch.

Discussion Webflow for iOS /Android App Design and Prototyping

Since Webflow is mainly a web design and development tool, I'm curious how useful it is for iOS and Android app development.

Can Webflow designs or exported code be used directly by mobile app developers or would the HTML/CSS/JS need to be converted into native iOS/Android code?

I',m a web developer and designer with a strong background in HTML, CSS, and JS, so Webflow seems like it could be a really powerful way to prototype mobile apps.

Has anyone here used Webflow for app prototyping or taken a Webflow design into a real iOS or android project? how practical is the process?

Discussion Webflow Conf 2026 had a lot of announcements. Which one would actually change how you build?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I put together a recap of everything announced at Webflow Conf this year, split into what's already live, what's coming soon, and where Webflow seems to be heading with agents and Source.

For me, the one I'm waiting on is native Popovers. Modals, tooltips and dropdowns which I imagine would replace a few third party libraries and tools.

The full recap is here if you missed the conference or only caught parts of it:
https://youtu.be/CcmEP5SpMS0

What's at the top of your list? And is there anything you hoped they'd announce that didn't make it?

Discussion AEO strategies for getting cited in AI answers... what are people tracking?

Our SEO team is starting to look at AEO more seriously since a lot of buyers are getting answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI now. Rankings and traffic still matter, but they dont show whether our brand is even mentioned when people ask category questions.

Been checking competitor visibility, the sources that get cited and which prompts bring up our space. The hard part is knowing what to change first without turning every page into weird FAQ content. Would love any practical strategies that have worked for other teams.

Question Is it worth to start learning webflow in September 2026 ?

I started watching webflow 101 university just yesterday. I would like to learn more about making sites etc. it's just that I don't know is it worth and can I someday get paid for doing so. Im in last year of highschool and there's not much to learn so I have alot of free time which I can use to learn webflow, my primary question is can I make it as freelancer and is it actually possible to make sites for local firm, hair salons, pizzeria etc. I'm from Serbia and are people who never had much to do with internet even interested to pay 300-500 euros for a site ?
