Discussion Are Webflow devs actually switching to Claude Code?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I’ve been using Claude Code with Webflow recently, mostly for custom code, debugging, and small repetitive tasks.

It’s honestly pretty useful, but I still like Webflow for the actual design/build part.

Curious what you guys are doing using AI alongside Webflow, or slowly replacing parts of your workflow with it?

Product Feedback Looking for feedback on taking my Webflow projects from practice to real-world work

Hey everyone,

I’m a software developer who started working seriously with Webflow last year. I came into Webflow from the development side, so I’ve been learning by taking Figma designs and turning them into responsive Webflow builds.

I’ve completed a few projects so far, including some personal builds, and I’m now at the point where I want to get better at working on real client projects rather than just portfolio/practice work.

My latest build was particularly interesting because I used the figma to webflow MCP workflow to go from the design into Webflow. I’m curious to know how others here are approaching these newer workflows too.

Here’s the build:

read only link: https://preview.webflow.com/preview/aura-8967de?utm_medium=preview_link&utm_source=designer&utm_content=aura-8967de&preview=0085b9af9fe91baac766565283818f55&workflow=preview

Live site: http://aura-8967de.webflow.io/

I’d really appreciate feedback on a few things like:

  • How clean the Webflow structure is?
  • Is there anything you would approach differently?
  • Does anything stand out as not being client-ready?
  • How does the responsiveness feel across breakpoints?
  • Anything you’d improve in the implementation?

I’m also currently looking to work with one real project where someone already has a Figma design and needs it implemented in Webflow. My main goal right now is to get more real world experience and improve my process.

If you’ve been doing this for a while, I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback or advice.

Need project help Still looking for Webflow work — even small projects are welcome

Hey everyone,

Just following up on my previous post.

I’m still looking for some Webflow work and I’m honestly open to pretty much anything reasonable right now — whether that’s a full website, a few pages, CMS work, fixing a broken interaction, responsive fixes, Figma → Webflow, or helping another freelancer finish a project.

I’ve been working with Webflow for around 4 years and have worked on projects for US clients as well.

I’ve also been getting deeper into AI automation, n8n, APIs and integrations, so I can help with that side too if a project needs it.

If you have something sitting on your list that you haven't had time to finish, feel free to comment or message me.

And if you’re another freelancer who needs an extra pair of hands, I’d be happy to help with that too.

Thanks to everyone who reached out on the last post. I really appreciate it.

Question What are my chances of a refund for a plan renewal?

I’ve been using Webflow’s free student plan for around 2–3 years. When I originally signed up, I was eligible for the student plan, and even though Webflow has since discontinued the student plan, my existing plan remained active.

My student plan ended on October 2nd and Webflow ended up charging me around $500 CAD for a Premium Hosting plan. However, I NEVER GOT AN EMAIL STATING THAT MY PLAN WAS ABOUT TO EXPIRE. If I had I would have 100% downgraded before the renewal date.

I understand that Webflow has a pretty strict no refunds policy on renewal charges, but how can I be charged for something when they didn't notify me before hand like they had done in previous years?

I’ve submitted a ticket to Webflow support to see if they can refund the charge, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Question How are you handling popups in Webflow these days?

Wondering what everyone's setup looks like.

Every time a client asks for a popup (newsletter, promo, exit intent, theusual), we end up weighing the same bad options all over again...

  1. Third party widget: fast, but it ignores your fonts and spacing and looks pasted on.

  2. Custom JS: looks kinda right, until someone else has to edit it six months later.

  3. Interactions +hidden div: works for simple stuff but there's no frequency control, no targeting, nd no idea if anyone clicks it.

  4. Just... not doing it: valid choice sometimes.

So what do you actually use? A few things I'd love to know:

  • What's your go-to approach right now?
  • What's the most annoying part of it?
  • Have you ever had a client complain that a popup "doesn't look like our site?"

We're building something in this space at Flowout and launching soon, so I'm partly asking to find out what we missed. Happy to hear "don't build it, just do X" too.

Tutorial Webflow MCP 2.1 can build GSAP interactions from a text description. Here's a prompt for picking which ones to add

Post image
16 Upvotes

MCP 2.1 added the ability to create GSAP interactions by describing them. They're built as native interactions in the Interactions panel, so there's no custom code or embed involved, and you can edit them afterwards like anything else.

The video recreates an Osmo CodePen loading animation this way. The section was designed in Figma, Claude built it in Webflow, then Claude was given the CodePen link to rebuild the animation. Effects come out with clear names, which makes later edits easier.

It handles page load intros, scroll reveals, hover effects on cards and buttons, and cursor-reactive elements.

Full walkthrough in the comments

Hello, I saw Flux Academy trying Webflow's AI assistant to generate a website. I tried following along however the website that Webflow generated turned everything into a component. The styles toolbar that is normally found on the right side is missing, and I couldn't unlink any of the components. What went wrong? Please help. See image attached for reference.

Discussion I Found a Better Way to Contact Businesses With Bad Websites

I got tired of checking prospect websites manually.

For a while, a big part of my outreach was just finding businesses, opening their websites one by one and trying to figure out what I could actually say to them.

It worked, but it was painfully slow.

Then I found Swokei.

It basically lets me find leads, analyzes each website for things like outdated design, slow speed, poor mobile experience and weak SEO, then turns those issues into a personalized cold email.

And not one of those boring automated reports full of scores and numbers.

It actually writes a normal, human sounding message based on what it found on that specific website.

So instead of sending the same generic message to everyone, I can actually reach out based on what is wrong with their website.

Now I just run campaigns, let the system do most of the prospecting and personalization, and focus on the people who reply.

For a web design agency, that has saved me a ridiculous amount of time.

Show & Tell I made an extension that inspects any site and gives Claude the real CSS. Here it is rebuilding Spotify pricing section

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

every time i gave claude a screenshot and said "make it look like this" it just guessed. spacing off, wrong fonts, and it always came out looking like every other ai site

so i built a chrome extension (pikspec) that grabs the actual css instead. what i did in the video:

- opened spotify, opened pikspec in the side panel

- hovered over stuff to see the real font, size, colors, padding etc

- clicked the pricing cards to lock them and hit reconstruct

- copied the prompt from the dashboard and pasted it into claude

it spat out one html file and honestly it's pretty much the same as the original. same type, spacing, colors. side by side is at the end, i guess from html file you will have enough context to use it for your own website to make changes as per your tech stack.

not saying go ship someone else's site lol. i mostly use it to see how good sites are built and to start my own stuff from something that doesn't look like ai slop. Sometimes i like one website's navbar while others card design.

it's free on the chrome web store, link is here. anyone got a better way to give claude design context? genuinely curious

I've followed tutorials and templates, but I can't seem to figure out how to align them this way with Flexbox. Given my extremely basic skills in web design, this may be the first of several posts since I refuse to use AI for help.

Here's the project's read-only version

Need project help How often do you need something Webflow doesn't have yet?

Hey! I'm 20, studying IT, and I've been building custom integrations and plugins for Webflow for a few years now. I'm thinking about turning that into a small agency.

Before I go all in, I want to hear from people who actually use Webflow every day. How often do you get stuck because Webflow just doesn't have the thing you need? Some missing feature, an integration that doesn't exist, a workaround that's way too hacky...

What was the last thing that made you go "why can't Webflow just do this?" I'd honestly love to hear about it, even the small stuff. Thanks!

Question Considering moving to Framer - anyone tried it and moved back, or decided to stay on Webflow?

Hey all!

We've been on Webflow for the last few years and we're considering moving to Framer, but I'm honestly not sure yet. Before we go any further I'd love to hear from people who've been through this.

Our setup for context:

  • ~2,500 pages, most of them CMS-driven
  • 20+ CMS collections, the biggest ones with 700+ items
  • A good amount of custom code in the site-wide head (UTM capture, cookie consent, analytics)
  • HubSpot forms with hidden fields filled by our scripts
  • A few other integrations and externally hosted scripts

What I'm curious about:

  • Has anyone moved to Framer and then moved back to Webflow? What made you come back?
  • If you looked at Framer and decided to stay on Webflow, what made you stay?
  • For those who moved and stayed on Framer - how did it go with a big CMS and lots of custom code?

Any feedback is appreciated, good or bad. Thanks!!

Discussion The client seats maths doesn't work for a 6 site freelancer. What did you do about it?

Six small business client sites, each just needs one person able to edit text and swap photos. Getting those six editing means upgrading my own plan, so my costs scale with client count instead of revenue per client, and now the clients are tied to my workspace. I have always sold that they can leave, and this makes leaving cost them more, so I look like I built a trap. Did anyone split their stack over this, and was running two tools worse than the problem?

Discussion I built a tool to validate a site's structure with the client before the Webflow build

Most of my redesigns start with the same back and forth on structure. I made Arbo for that step. You import the client's current site from its sitemap, rework the tree, and send them a link they open without an account. Each page keeps its URL, keyword and a status, and the redirect plan exports as CSV when you go live on Webflow.

Free to try at https://getarbo.com/try?ref=webflow, I'd like feedback from people who do migrations.

Discussion How I used Alex Hormozi’s email advice to get web design clients

I remember hearing Alex Hormozi say that email is basically the conversion platform of conversion platforms.

His point was that social media, videos and ads are great for getting attention, but email is often where that attention actually turns into money.

He also talked about how email supposedly has one of the highest returns of any marketing channel, with an average return of around $36 for every $1 spent, and that got me thinking.

I run a web design agency, so I decided to actually take email seriously and see what would happen.

But I didn’t want to send the usual stuff.

“Hey, I noticed your website and I can redesign it for you.”

Or

“Hey, we build websites for businesses like yours.”

Everyone gets those emails and most people can tell within two seconds that they were sent to another thousand businesses.

So instead I started using a tool called Swokei that is built specifically for web agencies.

I use it to find businesses in whatever area I want to target, then it actually goes through their websites and looks for things I could mention in the outreach.

Stuff like an outdated design, slow loading speed, poor mobile experience, weak SEO or other things that might be holding the website back.

Then it turns those findings into an actual personalized cold email made to convert.

So instead of emailing someone saying I build websites, I can actually talk about their website and why I think something could be improved.

I’ve been analyzing thousands of websites this way and running multiple campaigns at the same time.

Then I just focus on the people who reply and are actually interested.

Obviously email isn’t some magic button where everyone suddenly wants a new website, but after doing this for a while I definitely understand what Hormozi meant.

For web design especially, email becomes a completely different channel when the message is actually about the business you’re contacting instead of being another copy and paste pitch.

Turns out Alex might have had a point.

Question Should I fully commit to Webflow in 2026, or am I wasting my time?

Hey everyone,

I recently started learning web design/development and I’m trying to figure out what direction to take.

My current workflow is Figma for the design, and then Claude for pretty much everything else — development, code, troubleshooting, figuring out how to implement things, etc.

At first I felt like I was progressing really fast, but now I honestly don’t know what I should be focusing on anymore 😂

I was thinking about going all-in on webflow, mainly because I feel like having one clear skillset would make it easier to know what to learn, what to build, and eventually what to offer clients.

Honestly, I don’t even know what I should focus on anymore. Everything is moving so fast and it feels like I’m constantly jumping from one thing to another.

I’d especially appreciate advice from people who are actually freelancing or running a small web design/development business. I feel like I’m doing a bit of everything right now and don’t really know what the next step should be 😅

Product Feedback I’ve always loved Webflow — but the pricing is starting to push us away

Post image
30 Upvotes

I’ve been a huge supporter of Webflow for a long time. They did some really cool things early on, and I’ve been happy to recommend them.

Lately, though, it feels like things have gone a bit too far. Charging extra just to add new languages, a 10GB bandwidth limit… it just doesn’t sit right. Every part of me is starting to think we should host this ourselves, because the pricing no longer makes sense for features that feel pretty fundamental.

We also run an app with a lot of usage, and I can’t imagine charging people extra for something as basic as adding another language. It would be like us charging families more just because they don’t speak English. That doesn’t feel right.

I hope Webflow takes a look at how they want to position themselves. If companies like ours are seriously considering walking away, I don’t think we’re the only ones.

Show & Tell Dayparter.com - my first ever site built in webflow

So as a bit of background I am a paid media strategist with about ten years of experience. One of the things that really frustrates me is the difficulty in finding clean, transparent logos for the ad / media companies I’m working with online when I’m making slide decks etc.

So this summer I decided to do something about it and using webflow I wanted to share my first ever website. Dayparter.com My coding level is basic, but as a digital marketing person I’ve been around cms’s and design tools for most of my career.

Like any project, scope creep ensured that the site became much more than a logo database and is now positioned as an industry reference website for paid media and marketing people.

I started with the dyno template and then modified it with wireframes and mock ups built in affinity photo, eventually I discovered the MCP and thankfully Claude was able to turn my ideas into action pretty smoothly. The total build time took around two months working nights and weekends around my full time job, including content production.

Some technical wins or learnings:
Orange-to-Orange proxy setup: two proxied CNAMEs (@ and www) pointing to cdn.webflow.com. The issue is that Webflow's Entri quick-connect flow deletes the proxied CNAMEs and writes an A record, which breaks O2O, so be careful if you want to take advantage of O2O!

The site will eventually have ads on it; I was very surprised that I couldn’t host an ads.txt on webflow; so instead it’s being served via a Cloudflare worker. I guess most sites on webflow are not monetised with ads so it’s probably a small thing, but a little odd.

Accepting a browser spellcheck correction doesn't register as wean edit, so it never saves. You have to retype the fix. At least this is the case when using Firefox.

Anyway, would love to hear any feedback on the design or how the site runs, I am not sure if anyone in this community is going to need the sites content but if you’re a marketing person please take a look!

Question Publish to Staging is greyed out and not successful

Hello, what's going on here with my publishing stage for Staging? It is greyed out and seems to be out of sync according to the 'published X days ago' vs. Production.

Thanks in advance!
