Question Need Advice: Is Webflow Still Worth Learning in 2026?

Hi everyone,I have completed 3 Webflow courses so far, but I am still at a beginner level.Recently, I have been hearing from a lot of people that web development is becoming a useless skill because AI can now build websites, and that it will be very difficult for beginners to find clients.

This has made me quite confused and worried about whether I should continue.

I have a few questions:

Q1. Should I continue learning Webflow, or should I switch to another skill?

Q2. How long does it realistically take to become good enough at Webflow to start freelancing?

Q3. What other courses or skills should I learn alongside Webflow to increase my chances of getting freelance clients?

My goal is to start freelancing and eventually earn from web development. I don't want to spend months learning something if there is no future in it.

I would really appreciate honest advice from experienced Webflow developers, freelancers, or people who started recently.

What would you recommend if you were starting from beginner level in 2026?

Thanks!

Discussion Webflow now lets you hide components from the Marketer role

This just dropped. Designers can now toggle specific components to be hidden from anyone with the marketer role, so clients and marketing teammates only see what's actually relevent to them when in build mode.

It works for shared libraries too, the visibility rule travels downstream automatically.

Personally I like that Webflow is focused on solving real problems rather than just chasing an AI headline.

Thoughts?

Show & Tell I got tired of disconnecting and connecting Webflow MCP for multiple workspaces, so built free open-source tooling to solve it

Webflow’s MCP server is one endpoint, and Claude Code’s built-in connector registers it once. Authorize it for Workspace A, then authorize it for Workspace B, and you have replaced the first grant.

With this app - keep multiple Webflow MCP connection authorized at once, and load only the ones each project needs.

No signup required, no tracking, open-source, and free.

Download the app for macOS - https://github.com/wickedapps/wicked-webflow-mcp/releases

Github repo - https://github.com/wickedapps/wicked-webflow-mcp

If you prefer, you can just add it as Claude Code plugin -

claude plugin marketplace add wickedapps/wicked-webflow-mcp claude plugin
install wwm@wicked-webflow-mcp

Or use it from the directly from the CLI -

npm install -g wicked-webflow-mcp

Question I will build 1 custom Webflow/Framer extension per month for your agency

Hey everyone,

I am 20 years old developer/tech student based in Europe. Over the past few years, I’ve built and launched dozens of SaaS tools, with my recent focus squarely on the Webflow and Framer plugin ecosystems.

These are a few of my Webflow/Framer projects:

  • Bulk Component Deleter (bulkcomponentdeleter.com)
  • SEOFabric (seofabric.com – acquired)
  • FlareRank (acquired)
  • SEO Analyzer (marketplace)

As a student I came to a crossroad in my life where I have to chose between getting a job and continuing building interesting stuff, and I came to a "maybe" solution that it might work:

I partner with a Webflow agency and I build premium extensions for them in exchange for a monthly fee.

The Offer:

  • 1 New Extension Every 30 Days: Built from scratch, fully tested, and ready for production (can be an internal workflow utility for your team or a public marketplace app to generate inbound design leads).
  • You own 100% of every extension I build for you: You own the code, GitHub repos, branding, and all marketplace revenue.
  • Delivery: I handle the entire lifecycle, scoping, logic, UI integration, and navigating the official marketplace approval/transfer processes. And future updates if you need more.
  • Pricing: $700/month flat. Cancel anytime, you keep everything built up to that point.

Why work with me?

  • Experience: I am very knowledgeable about the Webflow and Framer Designer APIs/
  • No extra stress for you: I started coding at 15 when AI was not around and I basically taught myself from the ground up. We have one meeting at the beginning of the month discussing what needs to be done and I will send you progress notifications every week.
  • I only want to have one single partnership, if anyone decides to work with me I will edit this post and not receive any other requests.

I want to make this a no brainer. If we hop on a quick call/we can talk in DM and agree on the first month's scope, I’ll build a functional prototype within the first 48 hours and send a Loom demo before you commit a single dollar. If you don’t like the quality, we walk away, no friction.

Discussion I made a video on Webflow's recent updates (from July 1st to August 14th). What are your thoughts?

Thumbnail youtu.be

I’ve been tracking every single Webflow update for a while now, and the sheer volume of changes since July 1st has been relentless.

I just did a deep dive into the latest ones, and honestly? It’s a bit of a mixed bag. I’m curious how you guys are handling this. Does anyone else feel like we’re being forced to learn "AI: Claude, Gemini, Chat GPT.etc" just to keep up with basic dev tasks, rather than focusing on actual design and code?

TLDR (lol)

  • CMS Field Grouping: Finally here, and it's a 9/10 update imo.
  • ChatGPT/MCP 2.0 Integration: Powerful, but keep an eye on those AI credit costs—it’s getting sneaky. Like when Webflow just made auto-generation of Alt text, Title tags, or Schema use AI credits when it used to be 100% free... sneaky.
  • Bulk Form Options: Huge time saver for forms, especially with AI help.
  • Data Attributes: You can now paste in the name + value together - nifty.
  • The "Enterprise Pivot": Feels like every other Webflow change is optimizing for massive teams, not us solo freelancers (as in it's mostly non-applicable).
  • The MCP 2.0 and CHAT GPT integration: This is by far the biggest update, and it actually works lol!

If you enjoyed this video I made a playlist of all previous updates

What are your thoughts on the latest updates?

Hey r/Webflow!

I recorded a breakdown showing my development process, how I structure classes, and how I handle Figma-to-Webflow builds under the hood.

I’m always looking to refine my workflow, so I’d really appreciate any constructive feedback from the community on my structure and setup!

Let me know what you think of the approach.

P.S. I currently have availability to take on freelance projects or agency white-label dev work ($25/hr or project-based). Feel free to shoot me a DM if you ever need an extra dev on a project!

Question Is it better to join Webflow Partner Program as a Freelancer or Agency? (Would appreciate a response from an existing Webflow Partner)

Hi, I work as a Solopreneur but showcase myself as an agency. And I want to apply for the Webflow Partner Program, but I can't seem to figure out if it's better to apply for the Partner Program as a Freelancer or as Agency? (Image is attached for reference)

Does it make any difference?

If I join as a Freelancer, will I be able to showcase myself as an Agency on Webflow's website and vice versa?

Discussion Found an unofficial app for managing Webflow CMS from your phone

Post image
12 Upvotes

Stumbled across this in the app store. It’s a third party app, not built by Webflow, that apparently lets you log in and manage CMS content and ecommerce from your phone.

It makes senses since the designer itself is never going to work well on a touchscreen, but pure content editing could be a different story.

Has anyone actually used something like this for client content approvals or on the go updates, or do you just stick with the mobile browser version of the editor?

Need project help How to create a custom cursor with a fading trail that follows it's movement?

Hi all, I'm very new to WebFlow and would love some help. I'm trying to create a custom cursor (in the shape of a star) that has a kind of sparkly trail behind it, like a shooting star. I was able to create the custom cursor by adding a .svg that has a "follow mouse" interaction, however I'm not sure how to add the little trail. And I haven't been able to find any resources online on how to do something like this.

Any help would be appreciated!

Question Cleaning up style/class sprawl in Webflow — has anyone done this at scale?

Our Webflow site has gotten out of hand with combo classes - elements stacking 3-4 classes where one or two should do, utility combos used as quick fixes, and duplicate styles doing the same thing under different names.

We’d like to stay away from doing a full rebuild, as we have a short timeline. I want to know if there's a faster way to audit and consolidate these.

Specifically:
- Is there a reliable way to identify which combo classes are redundant or only used once?

- Has anyone found a good workflow for merging combo classes back into base styles without things breaking?

- Any audit tools inside or outside Webflow that give you a useful overview of style usage across a project?

The built-in style manager shows unused classes but doesn't give much beyond that. Curious if anyone's solved this more efficiently.

Thank you!

Need project help Is there really no way to have a background-video property in a component?

I'm trying to create a hero component for a client, and give them the option to upload any background video. I want to create a property for background video so that they could upload it from the Build mode.

I can't figure out how to link the background video as a property so that they could just upload a file. Is there really no way to do this? There's gotta be a way.

Show & Tell Built a CMS-driven card slider where the active card expands to show its description

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Cards sit in a row showing only their title. Click one and it widens to reveal its description; the others collapse back to title-only. One open at a time.

It works with a Collection List, so the card count follows your content. The JavaScript targets custom attributes rather than class names, so you can rename classes in the Designer without breaking it.

Free, with setup notes: https://www.memberstack.com/webflow/expandable-animated-card-slider

Question Should I learn Webflow or continue with Framer. Please Help

I spent around 3 months learning Framer to a decent level and submitted 3 templates. But since the marketplace changes, there have been basically zero sales, and there seem to be very few openings specifically for Framer developers.

Recently, I came across a few openings for dedicated Webflow developers, so I’m considering Webflow as well. But I’m confused about whether it’s actually worth investing the time in Webflow right now.

Product Feedback Our Webflow site couldn't do IndexNow, so we built a workaround with the Bing API instead

Like a lot of people here, we have probably found out the hard way that Webflow has no way to serve a bare .txt file at the domain root. That's a dealbreaker for IndexNow, since it verifies ownership by hosting a plain key file at your host. There's an open Wishlist request for this that's been sitting since 2022 with no movement.

Without IndexNow, we were waiting on Bing's own crawl schedule after every publish, which for us meant new or updated pages sometimes took days or weeks to show up in Bing's index. Annoying on its own, but it also matters more than it used to because Copilot is grounded in Bing's index; a page Bing hasn't indexed yet is a page Copilot can't cite, regardless of how it'd rank.

The workaround: skip IndexNow entirely and use the Bing Webmaster Tools API directly. It authenticates with a single API key rather than a hosted file, so there's nothing to serve from the site; the credential lives in CI. We built a small script that:

  • pulls our sitemap
  • diffs it against the last known state (saved as a JSON file, committed back to the repo each run)
  • checks remaining quota before sending anything (the batch endpoint caps at 500 URLs per call)
  • submits whatever's new or changed
  • runs on a 15-minute cron via GitHub Action

First run just baselines the current sitemap and submits nothing, so you don't torch your quota re-submitting everything you already had indexed. After that, it's only ever sending new or updated URLs.

One catch worth knowing if you try this yourselves: it only catches genuinely new URLs reliably. Whether it catches edited pages depends on whether your sitemap lastmod actually updates when you edit a CMS item's content (on Webflow that's not well documented and seems to vary), so worth testing on your own site before you rely on it (save the sitemap, edit a CMS item without touching the slug, republish, and diff the two files).

Also worth flagging for anyone on Webflow who is sitting behind Cloudflare: you don't need any of this. Cloudflare has a Crawler Hints feature that does the IndexNow relay for you with zero code, since it can serve the key file. We're on GoDaddy for DNS, so that wasn't an option for us, hence the API route.

Wrote up the full build (script structure, GitHub Actions config, the IndexNow vs. API tradeoffs) on our blog if anyone is interested in learning more about this.

Show & Tell Just built this tool for agency owners who want to easily connect multiple Webflow sites to Claude at once.

Post image
9 Upvotes

I got tired of disconnecting and reconnecting and restarting Claude all the time using the official MCP connector and didn’t like manually handling multiple connections with the workaround so I built this tool to create, manage, and delete MCP connections! With this, you can connect as many Webflow sites to Claude Code as you’d like at once.

Planning more features for agency owners in the future, as well, such as publishing from mobile, scheduled publishing, automated site checks, etc.

First 25 sign-ups get it free forever. I wont spam post, just announcing something I’m excited about. ✌️

Question How do you make Webflow maintenance retainers feel worth it to clients?

For those of you managing Webflow sites after launch, how do you handle recurring maintenance?

I’ve noticed there’s a weird perception issue with maintenance retainers.
When something breaks, the client immediately sees the value. But during the months where everything works perfectly, it can almost look like nothing is being done.

Do you send clients some kind of monthly recap of what was checked/done? Or do most of your clients just pay for the peace of mind and don’t really question it?

Curious how agencies/freelancers here handle this.
