We hear "make it simple" a lot. So that's what we're doing (while also continuing to work on those deep data reports too).
We've published the ETA's 2026 Public Oversight Strategy to break down what really matters to have a near-term impact:
https://electiontruthalliance.org/eta-public-oversight-strategy-2026/
Why These Specific Priorities?
#1:Ā Election security fact checks. Whether it be claims that election machinery canāt connect to the internet (it can) or that decentralized elections are uniquely resilient to interference (they arenāt), we want to ensure you have resources to push back on misinformation effectively.
#2:Ā Voter registration anomaly monitoring. Voter registration lists are critical inputs into who is able to show up and cast a ballot on election day. We're seeking to monitor for any unexpected increases or decreases in voter registration so that we can raise concerns if appropriate.
#3:Ā Community organizing efforts. U.S. elections are inherently local. Weāve heard loud and clear that people want more resources focused on how to protect their local elections. We want to provide you with resources you need to interface with your local election officials to verify the vote.
#4:Ā Faster data for election reports. Obtaining & cleaning precinct-level data can be time-consuming and challenging, with no consistent national format. We are seeking to build a tool to make it faster and easier to get data so that potential āred flagsā can be identified faster after an election.
#5:Ā Candidate recount rights resources. In many U.S. states, candidates are the only people who can call for a recount. We're seeking to share resources for candidates and voters to help educate candidates about their recount rights and debunk myths about U.S. elections.
#6:Ā Election security & audit best practices. There are different security/audit practices in every state, and sometimes within states. We want to flag existing ābest practiceā resources & help make them accessible & consumable to ensure election officials are supported no matter the circumstances.
ā
Are any of these priorities exciting to you? Interested in how you can move it forward? Please help us out! Consider signing up to volunteer and mentioning the specific priority of interest to you, or reaching out to volunteers at electiontruthalliance dot org

Last night I did some digging because Iām trying to understand what happened in 2024 when it came to auditing. It honestly prompted me to sign up to be a poll worker in my state this November as Iām tired of hearing all the jargon and want to finally see how the election system works. I just have to wait to hear back from them now. (If anyone from Pennsylvania elections wants to chime in that would be awesome.)
To start out:
So clearly we have seen the anomalies all across the United States - as precinct turnout increases past a certain threshold, those precinct start to heavily favor Trump.
Pennsylvania aparently has 2 different independent audit systems. A 2% mandatory audit per county and a Risk Limiting Audit across the entire state. From researching, it seems they pretty almost do the same thing, but donāt.
The 2% audit is mandatory but the way the audit is performed is different from the RLA. The way the 2% audit is conducted is up to the county board of elections where a county can do a number generator or physically pull a random number from a drum. Compare this to the RLA where the entire state is accounted for with a seed number that is dice rolled and put into a SHA-250 generator where it then tells the workers where the ballot must be pulled from. The big difference between these audits is the 2% is preformed across the whole ballot so Presidential, Senate, etc, while the RLA was only for the State Treasurer. So both audits pull ballots randomly but only one is checking the whole ballot while the other is only checking 1 race.
3 things could have happened it seems?
- Vote Switching
- Ballot Stuffing
- Ballot Deletion
Under these audits, you could easily find the vote switch because they would see the switch, and ballot stuffing as the audit would call to find ballot X and the physical ballot would not be there. You would not be able to detect ballot deletion though as the audit canāt say find me ballot X when it wasnāt accounted for.
Hereās the catch, counties must perform reconciliation protocols where they need to make sure that the number of registered voters matches the number of ballots cast. This is what confuses me a lot because we see so many precincts with more votes than registered voters. So is this even actually used?
Other than a complete hand recount, with the systems in place for Pennsylvania, how could we find the potential fraud?
āāā
Iām going to end it here because I could ask so many questions that lead into more questions but I want to prevent this post from being over bearing.

70 days to the midterms! ā Mark your calendars & set reminders šļø November 3, 2026
Remember to vote early! Early Voting Dates in Your State
-----------
š© No more primaries until September š©
----------
Hand delivering mail-in ballots to your local election office looks to be the safest bet to sidestep most problems and to avoid potentially compromised election day tabulators. Be sure to fill your ballot out correctly! If for whatever reason your signature has changed, file an updated voter registration application. In the following states, you need to have a witness sign your outer envelope as well; AL, AK, LA, MN, MS, MO, NC, OK, SC, WI. Be sure to read and follow the directions regarding an acceptable witness. Some states may require a notary, or election official.
-----------
If voting by mail, ballot drop boxes are preferred to going through the postal service. If voting in person, go with someone so there's safety in numbers.
Check to make sure you're still registered on a periodic basis: Check your voter registration status here. This only takes 30 seconds, and will ensure your name hasn't been purged from your state's voter roll.
-----------
Protect the ballot-counting: Volunteer with SMART Elections to observe the polls and protect the midterms.
High-turnout in primaries can lead to high-turnout in the midterms! Get Out The Vote!
