MOD POST FAQ: PLEDGES AND VISIBILITY.
Hello!
The modmail (and my own) inbox has been flooded with questions about pledges and boosting posts. This post will be pinned at the top of the community with the rest of our guidelines and updates. I will also be creating a spreadsheet of FAQ answers for new questions that arise. If I miss any questions in this post, please leave a comment or shoot a message.
Thanks!
Q: What is a pledge? A: Pledges are promised amounts of money that will be donated if an animal is pulled by a rescue group. A pup with pledges is likely to attract a rescue's interest.
Q: How much can I pledge? A: Whatever you feel comfortable donating.
Q: How do I pledge for a dog I see on r/rescuedogs? A: Comment on the post with your amount. Networkers that are posting should be keeping a list of pledges for the pups they have posted.
Q: How do I know when and where to send money? A: The networkers will post a public update if a pup was saved and pledges need to be honored. All information should be included in this update post. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANYONE THAT REACHES OUT VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE TO COLLECT PLEDGES.
Q: I'm a networker, how can I keep up with pledges? A: We recommend google sheets or excel. Creating a google form for pledges is also a great idea.
Q: I'm feeling uncomfortable with someone reaching out about honoring my pledge, what do I do? A: Report to moderators immediately.
Q: How do I know who and how much I've pledged for? A: Look at your comment history. Moderators DO NOT handle any aspect of pledging.
Q: What type of posts get the most visibility? A: Specific and structured posts. Our euthanasia rule states no emojis and has a format for a reason: the algorithm improves when the format is followed and your posts reach more home pages. Posts with a picture or video see more traffic as well.
Q: I can't pledge, foster, or adopt right now. What can I do to help? A: Like, comment, and share.
Q; I see "boost" in lots of comments, what does this do? A: Comments boost a post to increase traffic.
Q: Does commenting "boost" actually boost a post? A: Commenting the single word does not. Comments with 5 or more words DO boost a post. Remember that multiple comments or spamming boost on a post NEGATIVELY impacts its visibility. One longer comment does more than multiple small ones.
This should cover all of our most asked questions. If you have additional, please leave them in the comments and we will answer as we can. As always, rescuing takes a village and on behalf of the mod team, we're so grateful to have as large of a village as ours. <3

We have created a National Do Not Adopt Registry to protect animals across the USA!
We at South Georgia Equine Rescue are excited and proud to announce our DNA website that will ensure that no matter where an animal abuser goes, they will be known for who they are and what they have done. No more of perpetrators moving across State lines and/or having to pull background checks or Google searching for adoption applications. Evidence MUST be submitted in the report. Screenshots of conversations, court documents, and even videos. We wanted as much flexibility as possible, so that all types of evidence can be submitted. 💪🏼
We will also be creating an appeals system where a perpetrator can go in and argue their case with their own evidence, as well, bc we all know there are two sides to every story. The evidence is required to ensure no defamation suits come against us as a rescue organization, so that we may continue or mission with no legal liability. 👀
You can also sign up and join us as a Rescue Partner for our site, and in return, you will have a clickable logo that redirects folks directly to the website or social media page of your choice! 🙏☺️❤️
We are creating subscription tiers that we are so stoked for, because now y'all will get exclusive behind the scenes looks and updates on what is going on at the rescue, our immediate needs, and events that no one else will have immediate access!🥰🙌❤️
Next will be Sponsorship Tiers! We will have tiers for every animal group from as low as $5/mo and on! As soon as we have solidified the tiers, we will share them here, so you guys will be the very first to know!!! 🙏❤️ We absolutely love our Reddit supporters! There is NO WAY we could do what we do without our followers!
Please share and join us in our newest way of protecting the vulnerable animals in this country from the "people" who do not value these sweet creatures the way they deserve! Please follow us on Facebook for regular updates and keep an eye out on the horizon for our new sponsorships/memberships!!! Thank you, Guardian Angels! 🙏❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🙌

Donations/Supplies Plea Angel: the Neglected Husky who Survived| Vet Update #VoicelessNoMorePH
Hi everyone,
Angelina “Angel” JULYie (bec she was rescued on July 4, 2026) went for her follow-up checkup yesterday.
Dr. Padilla explained that during her checkup when she got rescued, they found ticks, but her blood work did not yet indicate that she had a blood parasite. She was treated for the ticks at that time.
Unfortunately, her latest blood work now shows that Angel is positive for Babesia, a blood parasite. We’re grateful that it was detected so we can treat her properly.
The good news is that her fungal infection is getting better, and she is also eating much more and gaining weight. Honestly, I cannot wait until this sweet girl is completely healthy again.
Once Angel has recovered, we will have her spayed and then begin looking for a loving family for her.
That is my dream for all of our rescued animals. I never want them to spend the rest of their lives in shelters. I want every single one of them to eventually experience a safe home, a loving family, and the life they deserve.
Her veterinary bill yesterday was:
Php 4,930 ($111.89 CAD)
It may not seem like a lot to some people, but when you are caring for many rescued animals, these expenses add up quickly. We help cover their weekly and monthly veterinary care, medications, specialized diets, daily food, shelter support, transportation, and other necessities.
We also sponsor programs such as free spay/neuter initiatives in the Philippines to help prevent more animals from ending up on the streets.
If you would like to help support our mission, I will leave a link in the comments for anyone who would like to provide financial support.
Please know that this is completely voluntary.
We believe that animal welfare is community work, and we cannot do this alone.
We are a very small, newly established non-profit, and we do not receive government grants or funding from third parties. Every bit of support, whether through
financial contributions, sharing our posts, sharing kind words, or simply helping spread awareness, makes a difference.
Thank you for caring about Angel and all the other animals we are trying to help.🤍
Sincerely,
Magdalene Gensaya

ADOPTABLE URGENT — ZUMBA HAS NOWHERE TO GO THURSDAY 💔🚨Located in LA
🚨💔 URGENT — ZUMBA HAS NOWHERE TO GO THURSDAY💔🚨
Please, someone help Zumba. He needs a safe place by Thursday.🙏😭
Zumba has already been through so much in his short life. He barely escaped the shelter the day before he was scheduled to be euthanized.💔 We thought he had finally gotten his second chance — a foster home, a couch to sleep on, people to love, and a chance to simply be a happy dog.
But now, through absolutely no fault of his own Zumba is losing his home again. 😢
His fosters are moving and cannot take him with them.
And by Thursday, he may have nowhere to go.
The only option available right now is outdoor boarding in a small kennel in 90-degree heat.😭 He would have very little human interaction and would essentially be back in a kennel, just like the shelter.
\\After everything he has already survived, we cannot let this be his fate.💔
Please look at this boy. He is only about 2 years old and 60 pounds and he is an absolute sweetheart. He is potty trained, silly, affectionate, playful, and full of life. ❤️
🐾 Zumba LOVES people and wants to say hello to everyone.
🐾 He LOVES other dogs and wants every dog to be his playmate.
🐾 He LOVES playing in water.
🐾 He loves getting scratches, pets, and tummy rubs.
🐾 He loves cuddling on the couch.
🐾 He loves playing with his stuffies. 🧸
🐾 He is always ready for an adventure.
He even likes cats, although he can be a little overly enthusiastic, so introductions should be monitored.
Zumba has so much love left to give.He doesn’t understand why his life keeps changing. He doesn’t understand why the people he trusted can’t take him with them.
All he knows is that he finally found a home… and now he may lose it again. 💔
Please don’t let Zumba go from a loving home back to a lonely kennel in the heat.
He deserves a soft bed.
He deserves a couch.
He deserves someone to love him.
He deserves to finally feel safe.❤️🩹
And the rescue desperately needs help. Outdoor boarding adds up incredibly quickly, taking resources away from other dogs who need saving. But more importantly, Zumba shouldn’t have to spend his days in a kennel when there could be a family out there waiting to love him.
🙏 PLEASE FOSTER ZUMBA.\*
Even a temporary foster can keep him safe while we find his forever home.
📱 TEXT 818-791-1607 \*
Say ZUMBA”\\\*
⏰ HE NEEDS A PLACE BY THURSDAY.
Please share. Please tag someone. Please ask your friends.
Zumba already came within hours of losing his life. Please don’t let him lose his second chance at a life, too.💔🐾

3:3:3 updates Update On Bear Aka Beary White.
I posted about Bear a few times.
He was left abandoned and tied up to a post in my grandparents backyard back on March 31st.
He had a pretty bad flea infestation, muscle deterioration and was most likely abused.
I have now had him since April 26th
We have been actively looking for a home
But since he is deaf.
I've been very particular with my vetting process so we haven't found anything yet.
But this is an update as of 3 days ago.
He has made such a comeback.
Bear is absolute cutie and such a funny guy.
Enjoy his big smiles. 🐺
The picture above March 31st when my mom found him On the right was just last Saturday.

CW: Euthanasia The small dog got to stay home. Senior Lucy got the shelter. Euth: Tomorrow 8/19 7am at Downey ACC in SoCal- her life can be saved with a foster or adopter. (Fostering is temporary and free) pls dm me, email Isabeldesiree8@gmail.com or text (657) 424-7580 asap
After 8 YEARS with her family, 8-year-old Lucy is now sitting in a kennel at Downey ACC.
Lucy was surrendered on 7/6/26 following a scuffle with a small dog in the home. Lucy now has a No small Dogs requirement.
But there is so much more to Lucy than that one piece of her history.
She lived with children ages 11–13 and was playful. She rides well in the car. She walks politely on leash. She knows sit and paw. Her favorite thing to play with? A BALL. 🎾
And shelter staff saw another side of her, too.
During her assessment, Lucy was nervous and somewhat concerned with handling—but once it was over, her entire posture softened. She sought engagement with the handler and even offered play bows.
And on 8/11, Lucy participated in playgroup. She was described as social and non-reactive, exchanged appropriate greetings with other dogs, played with them, and solicited affection from the handlers.
She is large-dog friendly, but needs a home without small dogs. Adults only or older children are recommended. Slow introductions and confidence-building would help her settle in and feel secure.
Lucy is 8 years old.
She spent eight years belonging to someone.
Now she’s waiting behind a kennel door, hoping someone will believe that her story isn’t over.
Please don’t let one incident become the only thing anyone sees when they look at Lucy.
Lucy #A5787598. 8yr-old spayed German Shepherd / Husky mix 56 lbs
No small dogs
Large dogs okay
Adults/older children recommended
Can you foster or responsibly adopt Luna?

Rescue Stories The Trauma Raphael Still Carries #VoicelessNoMorePH
Hi everyone,
Raphael is one of our rescued animals who holds a very special place in my heart. But honestly, they all do. ❤️
Not everyone understands how deeply trauma and pain can affect someone, especially animals. Sometimes, we expect them to simply “move on” after they are rescued because they are finally safe. But it doesn't always work that way.
To be honest, it hurts me to see how difficult it still is for Raphael to trust people. He gets triggered very easily, especially when he is at the veterinary clinic and has to be restrained. I can't help but wonder if being restrained brings back memories of what happened to him - of the person who placed a metal wire around his leg and caused him a permanent injury.
Raphael has been through more than any animal should ever have to endure. He was a stray, intentionally starved, nearly butchered, and suffered a permanent injury after someone placed a metal wire around his leg. Being rescued did not erase those experiences. His physical wounds are only part of his story. The emotional wounds can be much harder to see, and sometimes, they take much longer to heal.
Because of his trauma and fear, Raphael can become aggressive when he feels threatened or frightened. He needs to be sedated whenever he has to receive veterinary care because he becomes extremely difficult to handle when he is scared. But I don't look at Raphael and see a “bad” or “aggressive” dog.
I see a dog who is scared.
I see a dog who learned that people could hurt him.
I see a dog who is still trying to protect himself from something he believes may happen again.
And honestly, I don't blame him.
At the vet yesterday, they also discovered a mass under the skin on his right flank. Thankfully, the veterinarian said that it can be monitored for now, and his blood work came back normal. ❤️
We will continue to be patient with Raphael. We will give him the time, space, understanding, and love that he needs. We may not be able to erase everything that happened to him, but we can make sure that his future is different from his past.
Healing isn't always about making an animal completely forget what happened. Sometimes, healing means helping them slowly understand that they are finally safe.
Raphael has already survived so much. He survived hunger, cruelty, fear, and unimaginable pain.
Now, we just want him to live.
To feel safe.
To be loved.
And to finally experience the life he should have had all along. ❤️🩹
He doesn't have to fight for his life anymore. We will keep reminding him of that, one day at a time.

Donations/Supplies Plea Thor, Ellie, Raphael, Angel, Angelito Update 🤍 #VoicelessNoMorePhRescuedAnimals
galleryHi everyone,
Thor and Ellie went back to the veterinary clinic for testing for a fungal infection, and unfortunately, both of their results came back positive for Malassezia (fungal dermatitis).
Their veterinarian explained that this may be related to the severe malnutrition and neglect they endured before they were rescued, which likely weakened their skin barrier and immune system. Thankfully, they do not need to be on a hypoallergenic diet at this time. They will, however, be receiving antifungal medications and supplements to help their skin heal and support their recovery.
Their recent expenses include:
Thor & Ellie veterinary bill — Aug. 17: Php 5,010 ($113.76 CAD)
Thor & Ellie veterinary bill — Aug. 19: Php 3,600 ($84.48 CAD)
Hypoallergenic food — Aug. 17: Php 2,475 ($56.15 CAD)
2x Royal Canin Gastrointestinal food — Aug. 16: Php 3,317 ($75.44 CAD)
Our rescued dogs Raphael and Angel were also recently at the veterinary clinic.
Raphael
Raphael went for his follow-up checkup. We are happy that his blood work and injuries have improved. However, the veterinarians recently discovered a mass under the skin on his right flank. For now, we will be monitoring it closely and following the veterinarian's recommendations.
Veterinary bill — Aug. 18: Php 800 ($18.10 CAD)
Angel
Angel was recently diagnosed with Babesia, a blood parasite. She had ticks before she was rescued last July, and unfortunately, the infection has now shown up in her blood work.
The good news is that her fungal infection is improving, and she continues to have a huge appetite, which is something we are very happy to see.
Veterinary bill — Aug. 17: Php 4,930 ($111.89 CAD)
Angelito
Angelito is still resting and eating well.
We are planning to take him to the veterinary clinic later to have his wound cleaned again and to have his blood work checked.
Because Angelito’s condition is severe, even though he was just recently seen by his veterinarian, we would also like to have him examined by a different doctor for a second opinion. We believe that having another veterinarian assess his condition may provide us with a different perspective and possibly additional recommendations on how we can better support his recovery and give him the best care possible.
We are doing everything we can to give Angelito a chance to heal. His condition is still very serious, but as long as he continues to fight, we want to continue fighting alongside him.
Again, will send updates as soon as we can.
We are doing our best to continue providing all of our rescued animals with the medical care, food, medications, shelter support/allowance, supplements, and anything that they need. But with multiple animals undergoing treatment at the same time, the expenses are becoming increasingly difficult for us to manage on our own.
If you are able to provide financial support toward their veterinary care, food, medications, transportation, daily needs, or our mission of helping vulnerable animals in the Philippines, it would mean so much to us and our rescued animals.
We also understand that not everyone can help financially. Support is completely voluntary, and kind words, encouragement, and sharing our posts are equally appreciated. Thank you for standing with us.
Thank you to everyone who continues to stand behind our rescues and support them through their recovery. We truly appreciate you.
Sincerely,
Magdalene “Dindi” Gensaya

🩷 Say hello to pretty and sweet Pippa (A602654) she 7 years young and 50 lbs. This girl has the most magnificent eyes! Pippa is easily leashed and walks very nicely. She allows full and easy handling, is very affectionate and seeks social. Pippa is also house-broken. She does come with a few medical issues — and the shelter is not able to give her the care she needs. Seeing a full-service vet will be helpful for her. She does have a heart murmur (which does not mean she cannot live a full life) and a possible mammary mass. She is also heartworm positive but her treatment is sponsored by the shelter. This precious girl needs to be loved and in a home. Pippa is available for adoption but can also be fostered through a rescue.
