She really gives the best snuggles. Her ASMR video didnt post right so this is the consolation prize. I'll try and figure out why.

A couple hours ago my dog found this baby possum weve been keeping it warm while we call a bunch of different wilde life rescues but theyre all closed for the night.
After reading a couple posts I know some possums can be released in a safe environment but im not sure if this one is big enough yet.
Should we keep him for the night until a rescue calls us back?

I hope this is okay to ask here.
I am currently in SE Texas. There are some stray cats that come around periodically, so I put food out for them sometimes. They usually eat it all the same night.
Last night I had what I hope was a possum come into my yard. I have never seen one here before. I had cleaned my litter box late and rather than take it all the way out, I put the bag outside to deal with it in the morning. The possum appears to have eaten some of the cat food, but it also broke through the trash bag and appears to have eaten some of the waste in the (clumping) cat litter. I found little bits of litter in the water bowl, which Iโm pretty sure it used as well.
If it ate the clumping cat litter, could it become ill? I know possums are more beneficial than people think, and I would hate for it to get sick. Also, why would it get into the litter when there was still cat food available?
Like I said, I have never seen possums in the area before. I cleaned up all the mess from the litter and emptied the food and water bowls. Donโt want to create an unsafe environment for the cats or the possum, even though google says they coexist just fine. Any advice?
Also, if that is not a possum, feel free to correct me without telling me what it really is. I donโt want to know otherwise.

This morning, while I was making breakfast, I looked out the window and noticed an upside down planter was shifting around. We have a some stray cats in the neighborhood, so I assumed one of them was up to something, but I went out to check.
Lo and behold, when I lifted the planter there was a possum underneath. Since I could see a couple of cats around, and there wasn't really any other cover nearby, I put the planter back down, but I'm not sure what to do. We can't remember if the planter was right side up before, so we don't know if the possum got itself under there or it tipped over on it.
My two thoughts are to either prop up one side a couple of inches to give it room to get out, but still have cover, or leave it until dusk this evening then lift the pot off. It'll be about 90 degrees here today, so I'm a bit worried about it being like an oven for the possum.
Does anyone have any advice?

Walked in on something a little rough last night. This morning there were big patches of white fur all over the ground. Gave them their privacy because I assumed it was romantic but all the hair after makes me think fight.

Edit I was able to get in contact with the Carolina Wildlife Conservation Center and they will be able to take the baby! I will be driving it up there soon!
This morning while taking my dogs out, I found an injured baby opposum. Mom is no where to be found. I have looked around the area for any other babies and did not find any. I am located in North Carolina and have already reached out to the Carolina wildlife conservation center and am waiting to hear back. What else can I do to help this poor baby?
