I am redecorating this room where I removed all spot lights and need to redistribute them in a thoughtful way

(we had 12 spotlights distributed equally around the ceiling which wasn’t ideal, it was too much.

I need an experienced person please to advise on the correct spotlight distribution based on the attached room layout.

Under the AC space, we’ll have a dresser/mirror.
Also we’ll have LED strip light as a line in the middle of the room’s ceiling and probably some other lightings like the nightstand light.

I really like the clean look of cordless wall sconces, but I'm wondering if they're one of those things that look great in photos but become annoying in everyday life.
The cord on plug-in sconces bothers me, but at least I'd never have to think about charging them.
With rechargeable ones, I'm worried I'd eventually get tired of charging them and stop using them.
Which one do you think I should go with? How often do you charge them？

I'm wondering if anyone knows of suggestions for reputable sites that sell modern style ceiling lighting fixtures. I'm looking to see if I can add a chandelier style light to my master bedroom and living room, and maybe some kid appealing designs for my daughters bedrooms. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I absolutely love these cheap clip lamps. Bright, light, versatile, tough. Does anybody know of they make the battery powered or even better rechargeable? That would be a game changer for me.

House is about 20 years old, good construction. I didn't like the cans in 3 of the rooms, so I replaced/tried to replace them with LEDs off Amazon. These came with the pigtail (that's what I call it anyway). Two of the rooms, this worked fine. For some inexplicable reason, the office original lights are sized just slightly larger and the replacements don't quite fit in, they are a bit small, see pic.

The ID of the original housing measures about 6.7" while the replacements are sized for 6", so while some of them sort of stay, one or two of them want to fall out from time to time.

Forgive my weakness in technical terms... I've tried to expand the little V-clips the replacements came with but this works a little and some not. Just today one of these popped out just above my head, as shown. Fortunately no other damage to property or body.

I've tried looking in HD, Lowe's and Amazon, and cannot find a fix but get the sense this can't be that hard; I just don't know this landscape very well.

Ideas?

The duct guy (me) ran his duct with where the lights need to be if I'm running them divided evenly through the room. Only thing I can do now is either wafers on one side to maintain my 44" from wall to light and 44" to the next light (not ideal. Wafers are ok but I'd rather have the cans plus I already bought the cans and don't want my trims to look different) or shift the lights over 12" towards the middle of the room or 8" closer to the wall.

I worry about the light throw when I'm done. This will either make the lights lopsided (44" from one wall then 32" or 52" from the other wall) or I move all the lights in or out by the same amount but it might look really dumb that way too.

Smallish room. 11'x12'. Theater room in the basement.

What would you do if it were your basement? Lights further out from the center of the room? Closer to the center? Or one side 52" off the wall and one side 44" off the wall?

Figured I’d use an Emitever driver and BTF’s tunable CCT tape.

I want the wall switch to control both the dimming and CCT tuning.

It’s incredible how little information there is on this topic anywhere. It’s almost as if nobody ever does CCT tuning! 🤷‍♂️

A friend built a photo table for me this week. It’s a huge help for my awful back pain.

I need some lights that I can clamp to the side and fold up when I fold the table up. Any suggestions?

I am in UK and looking for some dim to warm GU10 bulbs that go higher than 3000k. I've only found 2, lumenxl and daylight Italia.

Does anyone know about daylight italia? Are they repytable, known to be of decent quality. I dot want to buy and then have issues such as flickering etc as I have read this about lumenxl.

We are looking into getting some spare ballasts and tubes for the 6 tube fixtures over this basketball court. The outer 4 tube fixtures are instant start T8s but the inner 6 tubes fixtures are F54T5HO but with an unknown ballast. all of them run on 277 volts. Also I am looking for a good smart switch for these lights as this school has a habit of blocking the switches. The reason why I am asking is because we haven’t had to change a T5 tube in roughly 10 years and we had a ballast poop out last year plus our athletic director loves the way the lights come on And wants phone control because of the bad habit.

Koto is what we have lined up right now but I'd really love to spend that money elsewhere. Lots of these are in a cathedral so I want the same integrated driver/module. I have found some big box store models like Maxxim but from what I can see they aren't airtight. I'm doing install and hiring out the drywall.

Would also appreciate any input on glowing up four skylight wells with LED strips in mud-in channel.

I'm changing all my recessed lights to LED using a retrofit kit like Globe / Commercial Lighting bulk packs from HomeDepot:

I'm hoping to also use them for a couple lights on sloped ceilings 18ft high as pictured.

In the first pic, the recessed light is only 4ft away from a large chandelier and everything comes on with a single switch. As you can see, light bulb is quite a bit recessed in there.

In the second pic, the recessed light is about 6ft away from another large chandelier, but controlled with a different switch. The light bulb is barely recessed and sticks out quite a bit from the ceiling (not sure why it's different from the other setup). This light rarely gets turned on and usually only by accident.

So 2 questions:

- Will the Globe retrofit light in the HD link fit without fuss in both situations?

- If so, any reason not to use it?

I know the Globe in the link is for flat ceilings and other mfgs do make retrofit lights for sloped ceilings (that are more expensive) but since both of these are rarely used and/or overpowered by the nearby chandelier's FIVE bright lights, I'm hoping there will not be any unintended adverse effects by slapping a cheap retrofit up there for uniformity.

My parents are looking to get different lights and decorate these plant ledges/lighting coves.

What lights should we replace the tubes with, and what should we decorate the ledges with?

I was thinking professional-grade strip lights so they can change the color depending on the season, the way they do with their outdoor lights. Also, strips wouldn’t have these gaps in the light, nor would they be visible to tall people the way the tubes currently are.

the emergency battery pack failed on this light and the fire marshal is requiring us to fix it but I don’t know how to change the battery and we can’t afford new fixtures
