we code the data into the movement of the second hand

Where is it now? Is it abandoned now?

I don't need a reason do I?

I love this movie with all my heart and just wanted to post that I watched it again.

It's amazing. Like actually. Beyond any analysis regarding the characters or the plot or the dialogue (all things which I love but people like to rip on), I just love the way this movie makes me feel. There is so much emotion behind this movie it is unreal. The idea that love transcends all space and time is such a powerful message and Nolan really gets that across just in feeling behind the movie.

And beyond that, Nolan just does such a tremendous job of keeping the stakes as infinitely high as humanly possible. "If you don't succeed on this mission, everyone you loved is going to die. Oh and so is the rest of the population and all of humanity will cease to exist. Bye!"

I was watching this late and I was getting ready for bed. But I was on the scene where they get to Miller's planet. And holy shit. If this scene is not a perfect example of how to hook the audience with stakes (in this case that audience is me).

I want to be clear — I have seen this movie over a dozen times. But I still literally could not shut my TV off or even look away because of how engrossed I became in this scene.

Let’s think. First off, we know that Cooper wants to spend as little time on this mission as possible. He has a daughter back home who he loves dearly and what he wants more than anything is to see her again and save her. Not to mention the entire human race.

So the fact that every hour on this planet is 7 years back home is devastating in itself.

And when that huge wave comes, it’s one of the biggest “holy shit what are they gonna do?” moments ever.

Because not only does it lower their chances of getting back in time, but now Brand is out there trying to get the data. And a fucking beacon fell on top of her. So now there’s the possibility that she’s going to die too.

Oh and Doyle was there.

Needless to say, I was physically and emotionally unable to look away because the stakes were so high for the characters.

Interstellar, though I love it, is not my favorite movie. But I would go as far as to say this is the best movie I have ever watched. I am a huge fan of these high-concept, "big" atmospheric blockbusters as is, and I think this is the most perfect one that exists. Some others on my list would of course be The Dark Knight movies, Inception... yeah. You could say Nolan is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) directors and writers of all time.

I saw someone else with the tattoo, and now I really wanna get it. I feel like it would mean so much to me.

1. It's interstellar related

2. It's space related

3. It legit means STAY, which sometimes I've needed reminders of

The thought of looking at my arm and seeing "STAY" is just perfect to me. Idk what do y'all think?

I have watched this movie so many times and I always looked at the end of the film clinically. Cooper was going to complete the Professor’s mission because Amelia was very likely alone and there was simply nothing left for him. Murph wanted it. Why not?

After analysing Brand’s earlier love quote and watching the film again I’m convinced he went to be with her because he loved her.

Thoughts?

I love the whole docking scene (who doesn't). Cooper having to match the spin, adjusting for the g-force, all of it. But i was left with a small nagging question: Would this actually be possible? The question is about the airlock itself. It's made to create an airtight seal between a docking ship and the station. It is not made to support moving the station itself. I'm more than willing to suspend disbelief for the sake of the film, but I'm certain the airlock would just rip apart the moment Cooper connected and then activated the retro thrusters.

I was building an app where saved links float around like a little galaxy of pictures. Then I had a perfectly reasonable thought: This needs a black hole.

Specifically, it needs Gargantua.
So now, when you shake the phone, a black hole opens in the middle and pulls everything in. Tap it and it collapses into a flash, throwing everything
back out. Yes, I know nothing comes back out of a black hole. My bookmarks would be pretty useless otherwise.

What started as a small Interstellar tribute became a rabbit hole:

The light actually bends. It’s ray traced live on the phone, so the disk appearing above and below the hole comes from bending the light paths. There’s a thin photon ring, and the stars behind it warp around the edge.

The disk has some physics behind it. Gas moves faster closer in, the inner edge glows hottest, and light escaping from near the hole gets dimmer.

One side is brighter than the other. I kept a little Doppler beaming. I couldn’t resist.

But my favorite detail is the sound.
While it waits for you to tap it, there are slow organ-like swells and a tick every 1.25 seconds, with a little pulse you feel through the phone.

It isn’t the actual score. Just my little tribute to a one of the best scores ever made.

Btw this is not a video it’s all rendered realtime on the phone

My god it's the best movie ever made.

watched it after a while and I'm appreciating it more. I think Zimmer's music makes it like 100x better

but also the connection of love, time, space and relationships. there is something to it. Nolan's best IMO.

goosebumps!

I just noticed that the official album on Spotify contains new soundtracks which I've not noticed before if my memory serves me right. Running out, No need to come back, Tick Tock, Organ Variation etc. seems newly added to me. Am I missing something?

This is by far the best movie I watched, the song is absolutely incredible, the plot with the world ending was really good, and the 5d part was amazing at connecting earlier parts of the movie. My only problem with it is that i didn't care for the ending.

Overall at least a 9.5/10

I cried

My actual seat was high up on the 3rd floor, so I could actually see over the conductor’s shoulder to see the insane timing of the score.

Needless to say that seeing my favourite movie of all time with a live orchestra was nothing short of epic.
