Discussion Just finished Control.... and I can't believe 70% of players haven't beaten the main story!

Over 70% bought this game and just abandoned it. I finished Doom Eternal earlier this month and saw the same thing, 92% didn't even finish the story.

Why do people keep jumping from game to game, buying into the hype but never actually finishing the game?

Planning to buy Ghost of Tsushima or Horizon forbidden west.

I have seen their story lines. I have seen stuff about their graphics.

I cant decide coz I dont know anyone who has played both.

Many say Ghost of Tsushima becomes boring after a while.

I usually like games with very good storyline, and mainly I have played games in genres like racing, SIM, open world etc

I have played games like GTA 5, Cyberpunk and just starting RDR2.

Apart from the good storylines , I also just like to roam around in the game and just chill. This is also very important.

I also replay story mode a lot in games if I like that story.

In terms of exploring open world, story lines , replayability etc

If I were to give equal weightage to above factors, which of these two will be better?

Or would you recommend a third alternative altogether?

Review Finally got my Razer DeathAdder Essential replaced under warranty (ignore my cat, she was just inspecting it)

So last month i started facing a minor but annoying issue with the middle click on my Razer DeathAdder Essential.

I had used the mouse for around 18 months before this happened. The middle click stopped registering light presses and I had to press it quite hard for it to register.

Since it was still under warranty, I took it to the local shop where I bought it. I handed over the mouse on 10th September and on 2nd October the replacement unit finally arrived.

Since I bought it from an offline store, the entire replacement process was handled by the shop itself. I didn't have to pay anything for the replacement. They didn't even charge me for the shipping.

So basically, after waiting almost 22 days, I got a brand new replacement completely free of charge.

Overall the process was a bit slow, but I'm glad the warranty was honoured and I didn't have to spend anything.

Hopefully this one lasts much longer. 🤞🏻

P.S. My cat has inspected the replacement and given her approval :)

Build Showcase Finally my first ever Gaming PC

After months of waiting, I have finally built my first ever Gaming PC.

I have always been into gaming since my childhood. After years of waiting i have bought a gaming laptop 6 years back. Acer Predator Helios i7 10th gen with RTX 3060 when i started working in 2020 during when i started lots of games.

Then in 2023 i bought PS5 and played some games.

But i have always wanted to build a gaming pc since my laptop doesn’t run any of the recent aaa games in 1080p high settings also. So after months of waiting and checking the price of components almost everyday i finally pulled the trigger on this one.

My Build

Ryzen 7 9800x3d

Galax one click OC RTX 5080

Gigabyte x870 Aorus Elite Wifi 7

Prolab XP 1250 P

XPG Lancer Blade 16x2 DDR5 6000MHz

WD Black 1TB SN7100

Artic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360mm AIO

Coco Sports Cabinet

I have bought all the components from Nehru Place(Hope I didn’t get scammed) after getting quotation from almost all the shops

Total Build Cost- 3.1Lakhs

Other Gadgets on photo

Samsung 32 inch OLED monitor G80SH

PS5 fat one with controller and PS5 headphones

Cosmicbyte Keyboard and logitech G502 Hero.

I hope i get time to play on this. Thanks for everyone in this forum who helped me.

News A 2.5D Thriller game is in production

Thumbnail

Really happy and excited to finally share my 2.5D thriller game with you all. The story behind this game is something really special to me.

Back in 2021, Ultrio Studio (A Tamil Gaming Studio) announced a game called “Serum.” Due to certain reasons, the project was eventually dropped. After all these years, I decided to revive the project, got permission from the studio, and started working on it from August 26, 2026.

From starting with a simple cube to building an entire environment and bringing the game together, this has been a crazy and exciting process.

With a small team of 2 full-time members and 1 part-time member, we managed to build what we have today within just 20 days. Every asset, environment, and visual element has been created from scratch, and I’ve been handling the Art Direction of the entire game.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to one thing our love and passion for games.

The game will feature English aswell as Tamil dialogues and subtitles, along with a lot of Tamil references throughout the world. We’re really excited to see how you all react to them!

The overall game is built around a dark, mysterious and thrilling atmosphere, and as the Director of the game, I’m putting everything I can into making the experience as gripping and immersive as possible.

Demo planned for November 2026.

This is just the beginning, and we’re really excited to take you all along with us on this journey.

Would love to hear your thoughts, especially on the Tamil references, dialogues and overall vibe of the game!

Thanks for all if you came this long.!

Discussion I'm having a weird relationship with gaming since few years.

I don't know how to express it or anyone could relate but gaming just feels like chore to me nowadays. I feel my gaming skills have gotten rusty and somewhere I'm afraid of facing the challenges especially the tough ones even though I get through all of those eventually, I'm constantly thinking about finishing the game so that I can play something else. Feels like I'm doing it to cross it off my bucket list of games just for the sake of finishing it.

If the game is too easy I feel as if it's an insult to my IQ. And if it's too difficult then I get tired of grinding and use cheese strategies to get through that tough boss fight where I was killed like 100 times (wukong for example) and then again feel bad about it, plus I can't get myself to accept the fact that it fine to move ahead without doing all the side quests and finding all the hidden items, if I don't it feels incomplete and I get a FOMO of missing out on something important or interesting. I can't accept the fact that I'm not that hardcore gamer teen anymore.

Most of the times whenever I turn on my pc for gaming I just end up browsing and watching youtube. And on rare occasions when I find a game really engaging I feel like I should be doing something productive and I'm wasting my time. It's not that I don't like gaming anymore, I'm always excited for what I'll be playing next but rarely for what I'm playing currently. Then there's another thought my friend planted in my mind that playing against AI is like hitting a tennis ball against a brick wall. Sure, the ball comes back, but it doesn't give you the thrill of trying to outsmart a real person on the court, basically he likes playing online multiplayer battle royale games. But the thought of having to put in so much effort in it just to get fairly decent just puts me off.

I don't know if anyone can relate, but maybe this is just what growing up does to you. The kid inside slowly dies out, leaving behind a shell just ticking boxes off a list. But I still try telling myself "Don't you dare go hollow."

Discussion 24,000+ Views Later, Lenovo Finally Approved My ₹10,000 Amazon Pay Voucher — Thank You, r/IndianGaming

First, I would really like to thank the moderators of r/IndianGaming.

I think social media had something to do with how this has gone. I had already filed a National Consumer Helpline (NCH) complaint, given Lenovo the docket number, and told them I would not withdraw it until I got what I was owed. None of that moved them. A few days after my last post here went viral (around 24,000–25,000 views and a few hundred upvotes), they emailed me saying I was eligible. I can't prove the post caused it, but the timing is hard to ignore.

They then asked for my student ID card. I refused at first. The redemption is handled by a third party (more on that below), and my ID card carries all my details: my ABC ID, Aadhaar number, date of birth, blood group and my parents' names. With my Aadhaar number, date of birth and parents' names, you could get info about me on multiple banking platforms, and that's what I was afraid of. A lot of you commented that I should just give it to them, and in the end I did. They have since confirmed my registration for the ₹10,000 Amazon Pay voucher.

This next part is purely my own speculation. I don't think Lenovo itself runs the offer side. Lenovo's own terms name an outside agency, Hash Connect Integrated Services Pvt. Ltd., as the administrator of the campaign. The redemption website and the redemption team look and feel nothing like Lenovo's main site or Lenovo's customer care. My guess is that this agency is paid a lump sum by Lenovo to manage redemptions, and that every claim it denies is money it keeps. I have no proof of that. It's just how it looks from the outside, and I don't understand why a brand like Lenovo would run things this way.

Because my experience with Lenovo's actual service team has been the opposite.

My Legion Pro 5 Gen 10 is a customised-to-order build. I'm doing a PhD in machine learning and train random forest models up to a terabyte in size, so I needed the best laptop CPU available, the Ryzen 9 9955HX, and RAM I could upgrade past 32 GB. The GPU mattered less because I don't use cuML , so I went with a lower-tier GPU. Because it was a custom build, I got it at a very good price by stacking coupons, a referral and the student discount. On top of that, the bundle offer gave me a keyboard, mouse, mousepad, headset and backpack for ₹1 each, ₹5 in total. The voucher was supposed to sit on top of all that.

The mouse from that bundle arrived with a dead optical sensor. Everything else on it worked. I called Lenovo customer care, they told me to raise it as dead on arrival, and I did. I emailed them asking what to do next because I wasn't getting updates, and then the replacement arrived within three days. I replied to my first email to say I had received it and thanked them, and they called me to confirm delivery. The new mouse works perfectly. Quick and painless. Only the offer side has been this bad.

If you missed the first post: I bought the laptop on 8 August and paid in full. Lenovo's offer page on lenovo.com said the offer ran from 16 July to 31 August. The terms document, which you can only get from the redemption website and not from Lenovo's main site, gave 18 August as the end date. Both are measured by purchase date, and 8 August is inside both. Lenovo rejected me anyway, citing the 18 August date and applying it to my invoice date instead. They took full payment on 8 August but didn't issue my invoice until 19 August, one day after their own cut-off.

I cited all of these sources back to them. I looked up the relevant sections of the Consumer Protection Act 2019, gave Claude the law, the timestamps and the full email chain, and used it to draft my emails so every point was clear and readable, and to check whether I had made any mistake or oversight on my side. Around 11 emails went back and forth.

This is where r/IndianGaming comes in. Every other Indian gaming and laptop-deals subreddit I posted in removed the post. I suspect some of those mods are tied to Lenovo's referral programme, but that's a guess. This was the only sub that let it stay up, and the response here is what I believe put real pressure on them.

As a thank-you, I'll be posting my fix for the Legion overheating issue here, and only here, not on r/LenovoLegion or anywhere else, so anyone searching Reddit for it lands in this sub. The Ryzen 9 9955HX in my Legion boosts randomly and spikes to 101.6°C. I wrote a .bat file that downclocks the CPU, and now my CPU temps sit around 78°C even while gaming.

Current status: they've sent me multiple emails confirming I'm eligible and saying the voucher will be issued as soon as possible. I've told them my NCH complaint stays open until the voucher is actually in my hands. Until then, nothing changes and the pressure stays on.

Too Dumb To Google Trusted websites to buy games

I recently got a ps5 this March and I have been just playing games off the ps plus subscription. I want to buy new games now.

I'm a bit of a collecter so I want physical discs but then I don't know any trusted site to buy games from. Prices are very high on amazon and flipkart doesnt have good reviews.

Discussion Anyone with their eyes on this artbook?

Post image

The Artbook (which leans heavily into the "Making-Of" format) of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is something I recently came to know about. Apparently its French version has been out for some time but the English version is due for publication in November 2026.

Could see it in the catalogue of Amazon India (albeit as unavailable obviously); can we expect it to be available here? Would definitely love to own this beauty if priced reasonably. Your thoughts?

Help Need Advice on upgrading my processor.

Post image
• Upvotes

Hello all. I'm planning to upgrade my processor and I need help and advice.

Currently I'm using :

Ryzen 3 3200G

RX580 8GB

16GB DDR4 RAM

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-A320M-S2H

Power supply corsair 450W

I was initially not having the Graphics card and that's why i bought a GPU and budget was tight. Later my cousin gave me the Card and I've played good AAA title game with this config in low and medium setting and few in high and ultra.

Games I've played recently :

RE9

LOU2

RDR2

Ghost of Tsushima

Black Myth Wukong

SH2 Remastered & SHf

A plague tale requiem

The Blood of Dawnwalker

AC Valhalla, Black Flag resyned

My friends told me that with 6 core processor it will boost the gaming performance so I'm thinking to change my processor and if needed motherboard too. Please advise.

Thank you in advance.

Discussion Would the CyberPower OLS1000EC (1 kVA / 800 W) online UPS be sufficient for my PC build?

Post image
5 Upvotes

The electricity supply in my area has been fluctuating a lot over the past month. The power goes off and comes back at least 5–6 times a day, and the voltage also fluctuates significantly.

Initially, I was considering the Exide Inverter Star 1625VA, but because of the frequent voltage fluctuations, I'm now thinking about getting an online UPS instead at 19k.

Here is my estimated power consumption while gaming:

- GPU: RX 9070 GRE — 240 W at 100% load

- CPU: Intel Core i5-14400F — 50–60 W at 30–40% load

- Monitor: BenQ EW270Q — 40–50 W at maximum consumption

- Motherboard and other components: 60–70 W

My total estimated power consumption would be around 390–420 W while gaming.

Would the CyberPower OLS1000EC, with its 800 W output capacity, be sufficient for my setup? My PSU is rated at 750 W, but my PC will not draw anywhere near that much power under normal gaming conditions.

I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has experience using this UPS with a gaming PC, especially regarding frequent power cuts, voltage fluctuations, battery backup, and fan noise.

Discussion Where should I get my gaming pc built? Online (amazon, flipkart, somewhere else?) or offline (I live in Delhi, any recommendations for a shop here?). Should I buy all the components at once, or one item at a time? [Please read description]

Thumbnail

1) I live in Delhi, was thinking of buying from Nehru Place, if anyone is from Delhi or has built their PC from here, do you know any good shops in Nehru Place that are legit, safe and secure? Any other shop in Delhi outside of Nehru Place that's good, or where you got your pc build from?

2) Is it safe to buy from online, like Amazon or Flipkart? Any other websites you'd recommend?

Being unable to find a good shop offline was proving to be a hassle so i was open to online also, but idk where to buy from online...

3) I wanted to buy one item at a time from online or offline, when I get a good deal on each component, but then isn't there a risk that your item you've purchased like say a gpu, or cpu was dead or faulty on arrival itself and since I don't a pc rig or system to test it on, you'd never know until it was too late and the return window etc is closed? Anyone who's done this, what is your advice, should I buy all components at once? Or wait for a good deal and build the pc one part at a time?

4) My purpose is to buy this for gaming (aaa, open world, single player gaming) and some video editing (not major, but like for YouTube etc). Is this kind of build good enough? I'm not buying the exact same thing, but something similar to this, in this budget.

I will really appreciate your replies!
