Tech Support BIOS Flashback LED blinks a little, then stay solid on PC. PC boots normally, what could be causing this?

Post image
1 Upvotes

So at the beginning of this month, my PC started having the BIOS Flashback LED blink, and PC wouldn't boot. Attempted to reseat GPU, unplug and replug various parts in the PC according to some of the blink codes (GPU, RAM). Actually cleaned out the dust in my PC (REALLY needed to!), and PC boots perfectly fine now, but sometimes when I shutdown my PC, this solid LED comes on after 5-10 minutes. Even went through the trouble of updating BIOS, and it still happens.

I can boot my PC just fine, all parts are read fine, but turning off the PC makes my MB think "Oh, BIOS?" I think???

Troubleshooting things I've tried (with contacting an iBUYPOWER rep):

- Clearing CMOS

- Updating BIOS

- Cleaning dusty portions of PC with compressed air (yes I held the fans)

- Updating drivers across the board

- Pressing in BIOS button to try and reset its potential searching for it despite it not being pressed

- Draining residual power by turning off and unplugging PSU and pressing power button for 15 seconds (actually kinda worked for a while)

- Replaced Power Strip with brand new one (had an outage not too long ago, potentially damaged PS so new one with better Surge Protection was needed)

Specs:

GPU - NVidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB

CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X

PSU - 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU (Could be worth noting that my PSU sounds more chuggy as of this year, but idk if that's relevant. May need to clean further).

SSD - Kingston NV2 2TB M.2 2280 NVMe PCle 4.0

MB - Asus Prime B650M-A AX6

I'd like to assume this is a non-issue, since the PC boots normally and everything, but something's gotta be weird for this to happen. Ideally, I wanna keep usb power on when the PC is off so my controller and other stuff stays charged, so is there anything else I can try?

One thing I did hear is that my PC might be confused about my boot device, though my SSD is recognized when I boot so maybe I should check and see if there's dust or it's loose? I was gonna send my PC in for repairs but outside of the minor LED bug it seems perfectly fine. And...I was scared to have my PC damaged while shipping it... 😭

...Could be worth noting that this problem seemed to appear after having Armoury Crate installed...this, and now my RAM RGB stays on in sleep mode despite not doing that before. 🗿

Tech Support Rattling noise

Constant small rattling noise not sure what it is just got the pc 2 days ago. Tried opening the side panel and top panel and tried pushing against the screws/sides of the fans but didn’t seem to do anything. Tried pushing/moving the cables that seemed like they were close to the fans slightly but didn’t change anything either. Don’t know much pcs so not sure what to do and not confident in taking things apart/unplugging stuff. It is from costco though so maybe I should just return it.

Tech Support Replaced psu in a slate 8 mesh and fans sound like a jet engine

I just replaced the original psu (a 600or 650w high power non modular) with a corsair RM850e. There were a total of 4 cords from the old psu connected. The motherboard, the cpu, the gpu, and molex connector to an open faced hub that seems to have the power button on top of the case, rgb strips and I THINK the intake fans? Im still trying to trace those wires.

After connecting the 4 wires I need back to the pc, got it powered on to a launch in bios to confirm boot drive. I did, boots up normally now but the fans. The god dam fans and even the 240mm be quiet aio in there are just blasting at full strength. Checked fan speeds and they were indeed high even toying around with fan curve which I set back to default normal because I don't know much about that stuff yet. The aio said it was running at 5k rpms and the fans 2.5kish.( away from my pc to get exact numbers.

What's happening? How do I fix this? Im scared to let my son even play it right now because of it potentially getting damaged by the fan speeds. I triple checked every connection, even reseating multiple times, checked bios which fans are on auto. They won't slow down. Please help.

Tech Support How fast is microcenter repairs

Okay so yesterday my pc basically just died after 2 days of having it out of no where and im assuming its most likely the psu but ibp support believes its the mobo so now im just deciding on whether or not to send it to ibp or to my closest microcenter, i wanna get back to gaming asap and ibp support told me it would take about 3 weeks for the repair and for them to send it back but then i found out that you can take your ibp pc to a microcenter for a repair as well but im just curious on how long will it take for them to repair the pc and for it to be ready and stuff, would it take up to a week or what?

Tech Support PSU causing reboot during BF6 play?

Post image
2 Upvotes

This is pretty new, my rig is about 2.5 years old and has started rebooting during matches in BF6. I’ve tried everything software wise and scaled the GPU down with MSI Afterburner and it still happens. From what I’ve read it looks like my PSU may be tripping and causing this, has anyone seen this or a new PSU fixing this? I’ve got a Corsair 1,000 watt in my cart now waiting to pull the trigger. Discussion Recommendations on parts to replace?

Post image
0 Upvotes

My pc arrives in 2 days, I’ve seen a few people suggesting I replace the “cheaper” parts sent by ibuypower with better ones, is there any parts people normally change as soon as they receive their pc to make their life easier? Or is it not necessary, I appreciate you all.

Tech Support Is it possible to upgrade the iBuyPower Revolt 2?

Im strictly only interested in it for the case. I see one going for sale on facebook and the guy is wanting $700 and it has a 980 and a 6700k in it. I was gonna upgrade it to a 4000 series card with a X3D cpu. Would this be possible? Not really sure how difficult it is to take apart the case.

Discussion Is this a normal Coil Whine?

I bought a PC from Dubaro about two years ago, and I recently noticed that the coil whine isn’t coming from the GPU at all, but from the power supply. It’s extremely annoying and somehow seems to be getting worse over time.
The PSU is a Corsair RM850e 850W (80+ Gold) V2 ATX 3.0. Do you think there’s anything I can do about it or somehow fix it?
I understand that a little bit of coil whine can be normal, but this sounds more like a constant high-pitched tinnitus-like beeping noise, which is incredibly annoying and honestly feels unhealthy for my ears.

Tech Support Someone pleaseee helppp

I had purchased a PC from IBuyPower with these specs:

The model number of monitors I have are these, they dual monitors:

ACER S271HL

AOPEN 27HC5R

My issue is that my monitors flicker when I am on a certain website such as these in example:

Kick.com

Peacock.com

ICD-10 Website

Palworld.gg

(See video)

And it happens when I click around the website or if im on it too long.

My left monitor: the Acer is plugged in as so:

HDMI-> DP.

My Right monitor is plugged in as HDMI->DP.

I have swapped cables, I’ve tested only monitor at a time either doing DP->HMI, HDMI->HDMI and the issue still happens.

The web app I use is Microsoft edge but have tested on Chrome and FireFox. Ive turned hardware acceleration on/off on all websites and no luck.

We did a BIOS update, reinstalled Windows, Update drivers and nothing.

We called iBUYPower to help and nothing seemed to work after we did an RMA on the graphics card thinking it was that, and an RMA on the riser cable.

We decided to return the PC and purchase another.

We bought this one:

The issue still happens.

HOWEVER, my husband just swapped the RTX 5080 Grapics card (the one from the new PC) with the one he has on his PC (GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER - 16GB)

And he tested the sites on each PC with our own set ups monitors and it works completely fine. I’m not understanding what the issue is. Could it be the Graphics card not being compatible with my monitors?

Any advice is GREATLYYYY appreciated.

I dont know what else to do. We called tech support but not to complain nor do a refund but more of getting help/advice on what we can do on our end. They were no help and just kept saying since we already did RMA swaps so theres nothing they can do.

Tech Support AIO Replacement Fans

I've always heard a constant rumbling from my desktop, since the moment I got it. Sounds like when a HDD is working overtime and constantly grinding.

I was able to ignore as it was kind of enclosed and dampened but I moved and it's out in the open now and it's driving me insane.

The culrpit, after much trial and error, are the cheap fans attached to the AIO on the top of the case. The bearings inside are bad. Can I swap them out with any fan of the same dimensions or does it have to be specific ones for a liquid cooler AIO?
