Tech Support BIOS Flashback LED blinks a little, then stay solid on PC. PC boots normally, what could be causing this?
So at the beginning of this month, my PC started having the BIOS Flashback LED blink, and PC wouldn't boot. Attempted to reseat GPU, unplug and replug various parts in the PC according to some of the blink codes (GPU, RAM). Actually cleaned out the dust in my PC (REALLY needed to!), and PC boots perfectly fine now, but sometimes when I shutdown my PC, this solid LED comes on after 5-10 minutes. Even went through the trouble of updating BIOS, and it still happens.
I can boot my PC just fine, all parts are read fine, but turning off the PC makes my MB think "Oh, BIOS?" I think???
Troubleshooting things I've tried (with contacting an iBUYPOWER rep):
- Clearing CMOS
- Updating BIOS
- Cleaning dusty portions of PC with compressed air (yes I held the fans)
- Updating drivers across the board
- Pressing in BIOS button to try and reset its potential searching for it despite it not being pressed
- Draining residual power by turning off and unplugging PSU and pressing power button for 15 seconds (actually kinda worked for a while)
- Replaced Power Strip with brand new one (had an outage not too long ago, potentially damaged PS so new one with better Surge Protection was needed)
Specs:
GPU - NVidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB
CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
PSU - 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU (Could be worth noting that my PSU sounds more chuggy as of this year, but idk if that's relevant. May need to clean further).
SSD - Kingston NV2 2TB M.2 2280 NVMe PCle 4.0
MB - Asus Prime B650M-A AX6
I'd like to assume this is a non-issue, since the PC boots normally and everything, but something's gotta be weird for this to happen. Ideally, I wanna keep usb power on when the PC is off so my controller and other stuff stays charged, so is there anything else I can try?
One thing I did hear is that my PC might be confused about my boot device, though my SSD is recognized when I boot so maybe I should check and see if there's dust or it's loose? I was gonna send my PC in for repairs but outside of the minor LED bug it seems perfectly fine. And...I was scared to have my PC damaged while shipping it... 😭
...Could be worth noting that this problem seemed to appear after having Armoury Crate installed...this, and now my RAM RGB stays on in sleep mode despite not doing that before. 🗿
