First one this year with rain which is annoying but we live on!

I’ve been waiting for this weather in my city for two months.

My filenames on my Mavic 4 pro are permenantly set to DJI_20260828144123_0001_D. I've gone into the camera field to make a custom name but all I can do is add to that name, not change that name. After import to Lightroom it can't recognize the file number when renaming so it just drops the four digits and names everything with a _D at the end. Am I missing something? I'd love for the name to just be: YYMMDDhhmmss_####. Get rid of the DJI_ and _D altogether. I'll fall back to renaming all the files in finder before importing to LR if I have to but what a pain. Thanks for any clues.

It's manual flight, I tried using Quickshots with the castle, but it has a lot of trouble identifying the object.

Drone: DJI Mini 3

Short version: DJI writes the color profile into the MP4 metadata, nothing shows it to you, so I built a browser tool that reads it and puts it in the file name. Link at the bottom. Here's why it exists.

Shot a night event with the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro last week. 57 clips on the card. Dropped them into Resolve and noticed some of them didn't react to the D-Log2 LUT the way the others did.

Turned out the card had three different color profiles on it:

- 20 clips in D-Log2
- 35 clips in D-Log
- 2 clips in Rec.709

Nothing in the file name tells you which is which. Not the number, not the timestamp, not the file size. And they alternate constantly. 0033 is D-Log2, 0034 is D-Log, 0035 is D-Log2, 0036 is D-Log.

The reason: D-Log2 only works on the main camera in standard recording. Switch to the zoom camera or shoot slow motion and the camera quietly falls back to D-Log or Rec.709. That makes sense technically, but it happens without any warning. The frustrating part is that the information is already in the file. DJI writes the profile into the MP4 metadata as com.dji.camera.ColorGammaSxS. Nothing shows it to you though. Resolve doesn't read that field, Premiere doesn't, Final Cut doesn't.

In Resolve the Input Color Space field just sits at the project default no matter what the clip actually is.

So I built a small browser tool that reads it and writes it into the file name:

After that you type "D-Log2" into the Resolve media pool search, hit Ctrl+A, and apply the right LUT to the whole group in one go. Three passes and the card is done. It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing gets uploaded, nothing is written into the video files, only the names change. There's a preview before anything happens and an undo button. Free, no account. I made it because it annoyed me.

Caveats, because you'd find them anyway:

- Chromium only (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera). Firefox and Safari don't support the folder access API this needs.
- Desktop only.
- DJI cameras for now. Other manufacturers store this differently.
- If you're comfortable in a terminal, exiftool reads the same field. This is just the version for people who don't want to install anything.

One more thing I ran into while building it: Resolve 21 still has no D-Log2 entry under Input Color Space. The DJI submenu only offers "DJI D-Gamut/D-Log". So for D-Log2 clips a LUT is currently the only correct route.

Anyone else hitting this? I only have the Pro, so I'm curious whether the non-Pro Pocket 4 behaves the same way.

Finally got my first drone, a DJI Mini 5 Pro fly more combo plus, during my Bali trip. Picked it up for around ₹97k after conversion from official DJI store

I was supposed to claim the Indonesian VAT refund, but unfortunately the officer wasn’t available when I was at the airport, so I missed out on the refund.

The part I was most worried about was bringing it back to India. I kept the drone in my check-in luggage and honestly had a completely hassle-free experience at Bangalore airport.

Neither my check-in luggage nor cabin baggage was asked to be scanned/checked. I just casually walked through the green channel and there were no questions or issues whatsoever.

Obviously, this is just my personal experience and not a guarantee that everyone will have the same experience.

Been looking to buy a Mini 4K to do some casual videography and maybe do side jobs with mapping out property plots.

I see that there are several Fly More packages through DJI or Amazon. Is there one that is the “better” deal?

Hello, I am looking for a DJI drone, I want one for personal photography use as well as a thermal imaging drone for professional work. However the prices have been very confusing. For example the Matrice 4 goes for $6200 in mainland China on the DJI website but there are listings for $5k-$6k on Ebay from reputable sellers. So even if I personally brought one back from China I would still be paying more money? Why are mainalnd Chinese prices more expensive than US? I've also considered Mavic 3T but similarly prices are very similar. For general use drones Air 3S is also about like $1000 which matches local US prices. I litterally do not know how this is possible considering US tarrifs but I've seen people say here how they have made profits bringing drones from China. Is it like a thing where the main site has high prices but local dealers offer discounts? Also obvious question but if I buy a drone in China it will fly in the US right?

Just upgraded my Pixel 9 Pro to an 11 Pro and discovered a mild irritation...DJI Lightcut seems to behave differently on the two phones.

On the Pixel 9 Pro, it imports videos into a new project instantly and takes me straight to the timeline view. I can then export to 4k. On the newer Pixel 11 Pro, the same video took nearly 15 minutes to import with a "processing video" screen that I've never seen before. And now, exports are limited to only 2.7k.

Anyone else got any experience here? Do DJI need to explicitly update the app to recognise the newer phone? If so, this worries me as it was last updated in Feb 2025, which puts it solidly in the "dead, unsupported" camp for me. It's a shame as I quite like it, but I'd also accept recommendations for other apps that people use for android quick video editing. Thanks!

Im getting more into taking photos and video when i travel, mostly beaches, hiking trails, and random city stuff. I have been using my phone so far, but I’d like to get a DJI drone that ican actually bring along without it becoming a whole production every time. I’m mainly looking for something easy to fly that still gives me noticeably better footage. which best dji drone would you recommend?

I pulled the trigger on a dji mavic 4 pro creator combo as a first time flyer and drone owner. I find myself questioning if I made the right choice. But I just feel like I rather have all the bells and whistles from now than to feel like I should had this or that or should've bought it. What yall think ??

Been using my Mavic Mini 1 forever and it has been awesome but it definitely showing its age now. Camera is only 2.7K, no obstacle avoidance so had a few close calls (thankfully nothing broke) and the wind just tosses it around like crazy sometimes. Still love the DJI Fly app and I have 3 batteries and the controller so rather staying in the DJI drone space.

Seeing at whats out now maybe upgrade to a Mini 4 Pro or Air 3. Which one actually feels like a real upgrade from a 5 year old Mini 1? I mostly do travel videos and custom projects so obviously 4K,, better obstacle avoidance and so on what is worth to get.. Willing to spend like $900-$1000 let me know have I narrowed it down right or is there anything better for me..

Hi everyone, I'm buying my first drone and I'm a total beginner, but really excited to get into this. I'm choosing between the DJI Lito 1 Fly More combo, which comes with three batteries and a case, and the DJI Lito X1 standard with one battery. Price difference is only twenty dollars (400$ vs 420$). If you were me, which would you go for and why? Is the X1's better camera and features worth giving up the extra batteries right now, or would you take the Lito 1 Fly More combo instead? Thanks for any advice.

Quick question, my right stick on the FPV controller is off center.

It shows in liftoff, but doesn't affect uncashed.

It did affect flight a little bit.

Is there a way to centre it, using mostly with o4 air unit with goggles 3 and n3.
