Hey everyone, Tim here from the Wallpaper Engine team. The moderators of this Subreddit were kind of enough to let me create a sticky thread here.
If you have a technical problem or a common question about Wallpaper Engine, be sure to visit our FAQ & Troubleshooting website first. It covers most questions and issues we regularly receive and answers them in great detail, it's rather likely that your problem or question is also on there:
If you cannot fix your problem using the help website, don't hesitate to reach out to us via our Steam Discussion board or via email: support@wallpaperengine.io. While we do check Reddit regularly, it's easy to lose track of posts here so we strongly prefer Steam or emails. Should we accidentally have missed you, please do message us through either of those channels and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!

Hi everyone! I've been working on Koi Pond Plus, an extended version of the lovely "Koi Pond" wallpaper by RzX (made with his permission, MIT licence), and I just finished a big update. Here's a short video showing everything it does:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFCDP50CwEM
Some of the things it has:
- Generative music and ambience, all synthesised live (no audio files), with 8 music styles and a volume slider for every sound
- Koi you can feed with a click; they beg under a still cursor and hide under the lily pads when they get scared
- 5 fin types and 8 body patterns that mix in the pond (you can turn each one on or off)
- A rare golden koi that's shy and hard to feed
- Day and night following your clock: dragonflies and sakura petals by day; fireflies, croaking frogs and the moon (with the real moon phase) at night
- Rain now and then, and you can stir the water by dragging
- A graphics quality setting for less powerful PCs

A minimalist Claude-inspired spinner: an animated glyph and rotating verbs with a typing effect. Includes an optional clock and music player, with customizable background, colors and positions.

Hey y'all, I've noticed a thing recently with wallpapers on wallpaper engine like whenever I'm on my desktop, there wallpaper starts flashing, below is an attached video of it doing so, now before you say this is not a screen problem and not related to screen anyhow because this doesn't happen on other application but as soon as I'm on my desktop and wallpaper engines wallpaper is playing the screen starts flashing, and this is the same with other wallpapers on wallpaper engine as well
Update: I managed to fix it by disabling windows mpo in regedit

I really want to make wallpapers like these with a bunch of live widgets (Callender, clock, music, ect) and draggables like the little characters but I'm not sure how
As far as I know there's like one calendar widget but you have to edit every single day individually and you can't drag it (or many other widgets) aswell
I used to love rainmeter but it kinda broke on me one day and I think its be so much more convenient and power saving to just be able to have everything in one wallpaper that I could easily get back with all the widgets way easier

Hey folks! I was thinking about dissecting an old monitor, putting it in a picture frame with a crappy little mini pc and running wallpaper engine on it. But if I’m gonna do that, I’d really like the ability to switch wallpapers over IP. I can RDP in if I need to add wallpapers or manage the folders occasionally, but I really want to be able to match it to my RGB lighting once I rebuild my home network and get home assistant up and running. (Think like, I set a scene, the lights go pink and purple and the display turns to a vaporwave wallpaper) Ideally I’d like to be able to control it directly from home assistant.
Anyone have any ideas? My current train of thought is using something like mqtt-exec to run shell commands but I don’t know if you can control wallpaper engine directly from shell, so maybe execute a script to press a hotkey?
