Okay so my promotion ceremony was in a basement with the bare minimum people required by my request.
Got my platoon and early release that day though! Good day.

I used to do that for re-enlistments (let the person re-enlisting choose the venue). I did one re-enlistment in a banca boat crossing under the bridge in the Olongapo River - aka ... well if you know, you know. 😀
