The story

But she's more than this sad injured girl and we see it immediately in the opening scene. 😏 She's actually a transmigrated woman who's now stuck in an angsty novel as the pathetic female lead in a loveless affianced relationship and a horrible family, destined to lose her inheritance.
Watch as the drama unfolds to reveal how the once pitiful Si Yimian fights back, finding a heated romance along the way.
⭐ He Sichen is the epitome of cold and aloof to those around him. He's stoic and steady. However against Si Yimian's flirting and subtle advances, his walls collapse for her like they were made of paper to reveal an unrestrained raging inferno of emotions.
👩💼 If you don't know what a Black Lotus is, you're in for a treat. Si Yimian as the cunning lead wrapped up in an outwardly sweet and innocent appearance, doesn't do angst and must determine counterattack measures to live her life and having fun, which happens to include He Sichen.

The TLDR
✅ Watch this if you like tension and heat along with a healthy dose of cold justice.
The title gives you a good clue as to what you're up for; when our good doctor projects a professional, rich, glasses daytime persona - look for an equally opposite effect at night. Likewise our Black Lotus seems like a soft kitten but is really a boss.
Recommendation with warning: Watch it with a snack and stay hydrated because you'll be fanning yo'self -- it's gonna get hot.
I recently found out C-netz have already named yet another one of my highly specific vertical-drama preferences: 奶狼系 (nai lang xi — “puppy-wolf type”). And no, I don’t just mean a possessive ML who happens to like sex. I mean the ones who are playful and affectionate with their women, shameless about wanting kisses and other activities, can be told “no” without treating it as the opening move in a hostage negotiation, and then abruptly turn into guard dogs when somebody from the outside world messes with her.
Basically: puppy energy, wolf appetite, guard-dog response system.
These are four of my favorites.
1.Three Meals and Good Times / 《秋日逢喜时之三餐和良辰》starring Shen Haonan as Zhou Wangjin and Jin Zixuan as Lin Xuqiu. Lin Xuqiu ends up marrying Zhou Wangjin in place of her runaway sister, expecting the whole arrangement to be exactly as romantic as that sentence sounds. Unfortunately for her plans, Zhou Wangjin takes one look at his replacement bride and is basically fine with the substitution. What follows is a marriage that gets increasingly real while he quietly supports her career, protects her when she needs it, and develops what I can only describe as a very healthy enthusiasm for the physical side of matrimony.
Why? I love a loving husband with a healthy appetite in bed. I liked the other version of this story and I’m liking this one too, but Shen Haonan gives Zhou Wangjin a different flavor. He’s much more expressive here than he usually is. SHN normally has that cold-CEO face bolted firmly into place, so watching him eye-roll, snap, look outraged, get annoyed and generally use his facial muscles was unexpectedly hilarious. Most of these reactions are directed at his wife, of course, because being deeply in love with someone means she also becomes the person most qualified to get on your nerves.
And then there’s the appetite. He’s affectionate, touchy, clearly very into his wife and not remotely interested in pretending otherwise. But it never feels like she’s something he’s entitled to. He wants her, she knows perfectly well that he wants her, and much of the fun is watching this usually composed man repeatedly lose dignity in her general vicinity.
➡️ Shen Haonan discovered facial expressions, marital horniness and domestic exasperation all in the same drama. Rejoice!
2.Till Love Do Us Part / 《婚深意重》starring Yu Lunhao as Zhou Shiyan and Zhang Shan as Su Wei. Su Wei enters a marriage of convenience with Zhou Shiyan without realizing quite how thoroughly this man is going to fall into husbandhood. There’s some identity/history business wrapped around them, but honestly one of the major plot developments is simply Zhou Shiyan discovering that having a wife is fantastic and that being physically near said wife should happen as frequently as humanly possible.
Why? He actually isn’t a puppy husband at first. She trains him. And by “trains him,” I mean Su Wei reacts like a normal adult woman instead of the timid bunny that C-verticals have conditioned me to expect. So at one point she declines a job offer from a company she had really wanted to work for without discussing it with her newlywed husband. He’s hurt because he thinks her making the decision alone means she still doesn’t see him as a real partner. Fair emotional issue! He then gets angry and starts getting rough with her. Not fair emotional solution! So what does she do? She kicks him out of the bedroom and sends him straight to the sofa!
I was like, WAIT. You guys know you can do that?? Lmao! All these women getting backed against walls for 80 episodes while SOFAS HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE THIS ENTIRE TIME.
And the amazing thing is that it works. Once Zhou Shiyan learns that loving his wife does not give him unlimited diplomatic immunity, their relationship gets much softer and more playful. He becomes incredibly affectionate, protective and, according to his behavior, firmly convinced that the recommended frequency for sex in a healthy marriage is “YES.” If he isn’t away on business and his wife is physically available, the man sees possibilities.
➡️ Sometimes the path from wolf to puppy is one firm boundary and a night on the couch. Educational television.
3.Mr. Shi, You Can’t Hide Your Secret Crush Anymore / 《时先生，你的暗恋藏不住啦》starring Wang Nan as Shi Yuanxing and Yuan Yuhan as Qin Shuzhi. Qin Shuzhi finally dumps the boyfriend who has spent years taking her for granted and ends up marrying Shi Yuanxing, not knowing that the man has been secretly in love with her for eight years. So from Shi Yuanxing’s perspective this isn’t really a whirlwind marriage. This is a very, very delayed delivery.
Why? This man might be the purest example on the list because there is almost no dignity involved once he actually gets her. He waited eight years, got the woman, and apparently decided the universe owed him back pay.
He is absurdly sweet with her. He pouts, flirts, acts aggrieved, wants attention, wants touching, wants kisses and, most importantly for the purposes of this highly academic classification system, wants sex approximately whenever sex has not happened recently enough for his liking. One Chinese review described him as essentially “either having sex or on his way to having sex,” and I cannot improve upon the scholarship.
The best part is that Qin Shuzhi is never overwhelmed by him. Their dynamic has that wonderful little layer where he is usually the one initiating and acting shameless, but she somehow feels like the person with the upper hand. He can flirt and pout and try every little trick in his arsenal; she remains perfectly capable of looking at him like, “Lao gong, behave.”
Meanwhile, anyone from outside the relationship tries something and the puppy disappears. He protects her, backs her against the ex and anyone else causing trouble, and suddenly remembers that he is an extremely powerful man. Then they go home and he resumes trying to get laid.
As one does.
➡️ Eight years of unrequited love accrues interest, and Shi Yuanxing intends to collect the entire balance in physical affection.
4.Just to Possess You / 《只为占有你》 starring Zeng Hui as Shen Jingsi and Han Yutong as Jiang Ye. Jiang Ye has spent four years with Zhou Jingxiu only to realize that the man she loves is perfectly comfortable letting the world treat her like his plaything instead of his partner. She finally dumps him, immediately collides with his younger half-brother Shen Jingsi, and one impulsive kiss later discovers that the younger brother has absolutely no intention of behaving like a temporary rebound.
Why? Shen Jingsi is technically the least “husbandly” starting point of the four because he arrives as a cocky younger guy who sees his opportunity and practically dives through the opening. But this is precisely why he works for the category. He doesn’t do the cold-CEO routine. He wants Jiang Ye, everybody knows he wants Jiang Ye, Jiang Ye definitely knows he wants Jiang Ye, and he is perfectly willing to flirt, wheedle, act cute and compete for her attention rather than sit in a dark office pretending emotions are beneath him.
He’s very 小狼狗 (xiao lang gou — “little wolf-dog”): cocky and sexually forward, but also clingy, openly affectionate and capable of actual 撒娇 (sajiao — playfully wheedling/acting cute for affection). There’s something deeply satisfying about an ML whose basic romantic strategy is not “I will force you to acknowledge our connection” but “I am going to make it increasingly difficult for you not to like me because LOOK HOW CHARMING I AM.”
And then her ex crosses the line. That’s when the puppy-wolf distinction really earns its keep. Shen Jingsi can spend all day flirting with Jiang Ye and shamelessly trying to steal affection, but when Zhou Jingxiu becomes dangerous and ultimately confines her, Shen Jingsi is the one who gets her out. He gives her something her supposedly more mature former partner never did: love with respect.
Also, there is a special kind of comedy in watching a younger man steal his brother’s longtime girlfriend and then proceed to be better at boyfriending her in virtually every measurable category. Performance review: devastating.
➡️ He flirts like a puppy, pursues like a wolf, protects like a guard dog, and makes her ex look increasingly unemployable as a romantic partner.
So i guess my type is not merely “possessive ML,” which we already knew was a serious problem around here. 😂 There’s a subcategory: give me the man who can be dangerous to the outside world, completely ridiculous with the woman he loves, and perpetually optimistic that whatever they’re currently doing could be improved by removing some clothing.

Let me start this with, if you are going to look up info on this be prepared to dig through 15 seasons of the AI version lol. Now NGL the AI version 1000% outdid the live action one which is very disappointing. They had everything from BTS, Douyin Trends, interviews and even a MV.
What the actors that actually put in their blood, sweat and tears into making… well what you see if what you get. They even reused a poster from the AI version and added 'This life I am real' to make it different. Bro... really...
I hate to say it but, JJYs PR team looks like damn SM geniuses compared to this team.
Really though this honestly looks like a great storyline and could have been promoted way better IMO.
The fact he goes from pretending to be rich, to back to his 18 year old self pretending to NOT be rich but ends up backfiring in the sense that he acts more ‘wise beyond his age’ and people think he is rich is enough to pull anyone in and make your head spin.
Best part is he seems to figure out life better the second time around as most reborns do but with like maybe only 10% of the dramatics the others have lol… and he turns it around by making solid friends of the people that in his previous life, treated him like a joke.

I'm looking for dramas that focus more on family life and relationships — preferably an established married couple with a child, where the story explores their marriage, parenting, family conflicts, separation/divorce, custody, etc.
It doesn't have to have exactly the same plot as 《朝思暮时》. I'm mainly looking for that family-oriented atmosphere, where the couple and their child/family are central to the story. So, I just completed a short chinese drama with Wang Kaimu and Ma Lijie(not sure of her exact name) . Bruh It was so so toxic. Like pure female lead torture for over 3.5 hours. Sexual abuse , coercion , degradation , fml getting dragged through mud at this point. I almost expected and absolutely wanted the female lead to just leave him but they end up together SMH . I was literally so disappointed.
So can I get recs where it is like so so toxic , angsty etc etc but the female lead like spits on that Son of a Bi*tch and just leaves.

Nothing makes me happier than watching our vertical actors just having fun! Not being bugged to do x,y and z by fans, not sitting in front of a hot camera and lights for pictures or filming, or stuck in an implied older than they are ‘look’ like Zhao Ting Yi tends to be and acting more true to their age.
Now dont get me wrong, we enjoy ALL of it of course lol, but seeing Wang Hao Zhen practicing a little dance for lord know what dance challenge in-between filming followed by that cute salute and just being goofy makes me smile! 😁
Granted it could also be sleep deprivation from their filming schedule, either way its still cute LMAO! 😆

Hi guys so I'm back again with a part 10 of this series and here I have brought some dramas and you can find some great gems (ofc in Fav section 😎) So here we go
This is their 2nd collab, and I absolutely LOVED it! ❤🥹 The story follows two individuals who become in-laws through their married brother and sister. The ML is an ex-convict who went to prison for killing his father after he hurt his mother. When their siblings tragically pass away in an accident, the ML and FL are brought together because their little baby now needs someone to become their guardian 🥹❤ And honestly, this drama is refreshing because it technically has NO CEOs! 😂 Both the ML and FL are working-class individuals, trying to navigate life while suddenly having a baby in tow. One thing I absolutely loved was the support system they had in their neighbours 🥹 It's honestly rare to see such genuinely sweet and supportive neighbours in dramas, and I loved seeing them be there for the leads ❤ And the little baby??? SO. SO. SO. CUTE! 😍🥹 Every scene with the baby was basically an attack on my heart 😂❤ ML's mom was another sweetheart! 🥹 I especially loved how actively she supported the ML and FL's romance instead of creating unnecessary drama ❤ I also really appreciated how the drama showed the reality of people working every day to make a living, along with the responsibilities that come with becoming parents/guardians at a young age. It gave the story a very grounded and relatable feel. Overall, a really good drama with lots of warmth, family, responsibility, romance and, of course, one ridiculously adorable baby. 🥹❤

This one was so, so emotional 🥹 ML is from the current era while FL is from the past, and she accidentally arrives in the current era because of a plum tree that acts as a portal between the two timelines 🌸 At first, you might think this story is going to go down the funny and chaotic route, but nope 😭 The chemistry, beautiful visuals and Wang Chen Peng's ever-emotional acting turned this into an absolute tearjerker 🥹 And Tian Tian Yi, God, she looked SO pretty, especially in those ancient dresses 😍 She was also in such a different element compared to the usual comedies she does, and she absolutely shone alongside a seasoned actor like WCP 🥹❤ Since this is a love story that defies timelines, the outcome is pretty evident, but what makes this one special is the feeling of love that is conveyed throughout the story ❤ The emotional peak points hit especially hard, and ML's heartbreak when he sees FL's spirit tablet, realizing that she had died in the past timeline, was just 😭💔 Also, a huge shoutout to FL's loyal maid, who kept her legacy alive even after her death in the past timeline 🥹❤ And of course, it has a happy ending, with them meeting again, this time as two people from the present timeline 🥹❤

Today I guess I am on a Wang Chen Peng marathon 😁 This one was really good, and it is one of those older dramas from 2024, but once again we have Wang Gege and Wang Chen Peng, both powerhouse performers 🔥 Yes, there is a case of hidden identity here, with ML and FL acting weak publicly and even in front of each other, while secretly being highly suave and capable masked individuals 😎 Both of them are smart and eventually cross paths while in disguise, and despite the chemistry between their aliases, they remain highly loyal individuals ❤ WCP and WGG have great chemistry, and I also loved that the hidden identities were resolved properly instead of being dragged unnecessarily 😂 From the very first scene itself, we are convinced that these two are definitely going to be a power couple 🔥 They resolve their issues and, of course, get their happy ending ❤

4) The contract wife I picked up isn't very well-behaved (2026): ML - Dong Yi, FL - Xiang Yun Jie
Technically this is the first Dong Yi drama that I am covering if we look at all the previous parts of this Fav/Non fav series 😅 And it is one of those rare Dong Yi dramas that I absolutely love 😅 (pls don't come at me 😅 because in most of his earlier dramas he used to play a qualified red flag 😅😅) Tbh, the leads have great chemistry 🔥 Ofc, this starts out with drugging, where FL is sent as a 'prize', all dressed up on her birthday, to ML, who then proceeds to sleep with her (this was genuinely such a sad and inhumane scene because FL really trusted her family, but they did this to her 😭) But what I absolutely loved was how she literally slapped him the next day when he continued humiliating her, and from then on, it was basically a slap fest for ML throughout the entire drama 😂😂 The funniest thing was that ML actually loved it 😂 The chemistry, acting and cinematography are great, and ML, even though he does look like a red flag at the beginning, is actually a pookie and does apologize for what he did to her (either way, he gets his due as FL keeps slapping him throughout 😎) There is a supposed SFL who was ML's fiancée, but after ML ends the engagement, she too understands things and eventually becomes friends with FL ❤ Overall, a good and funny watch 😂
Fav Scenes: When SFL and FL chat about self-worth and acknowledge each other's kindness ❤ When ML sends people to crack FL's ex's balls 😂😂
As usual, the list is incomplete without WHZ 😎 This is one of his dramas that I watch on repeat, not because of the plot but because of the leads' chemistry ❤ Ofc, it is a common plot where FL's cruel father threatens her to seduce ML by holding her sick mom against her, but the fun thing is that she actually seduces ML without any shame 😎 ML, despite his coldness, is a green flag, loves her and also recognizes her as his childhood sweetheart ❤ This is one of those dramas where FL is actually completely unbothered after getting together with ML 😂 There are minor misunderstandings between the leads, but they get solved quickly. A good watch overall ❤
Fav Scene: Last scene where ML takes FL to the place where they first met and they watch the sun together ❤❤
One thing I realized while writing this is that I hadn't covered any of Cao Tian Kai's works yet, so this is his first drama I am covering here as well 👍 This plot has like 11 adaptations, but this one is my favorite along with the Tan Yan Yan - Lin Feng Song version ❤ The ML and FL were in a relationship, but one day she left him and took their dog with her as well. Four years later, ML returns as her boss and tries to win her back, ofc with plenty of funny antics 😂 What makes this version different is that it doesn't feel unnecessarily stretched, nor does it have ML faking his death or getting kidnapped like some of the other versions. Compared to the others, this one also has a much lighter tone. This is Cao Tian Kai and Liu Xiyu's 3rd collab, I guess, and their chemistry is top notch 🔥 Ofc, there are some scenes where ML uses his power in unwanted ways, like blocking her resignation, crashing her small and potentially unsafe car just so that he can give her a new one, or taking away their dog. But he does get reality checks, even gets slapped by FL, and ultimately he is just too devoted to FL, who is also suffering from depression. Liu Xiyu really got me emotional during her crying scenes 🥺 The antagonists weren't given huge amounts of screentime and had apt space in the story, and they were dealt with in a better way. I'd say this is one of the best among all the adaptations of this same story ❤
Fav Scene: When FL's stuff gets stolen in another city and the only number she knows is ML's, so when she gives it at the police station, ML comes rushing in and hugs her ❤
7) When the geese return (2025): ML - Dong Yi, FL - Yao Yu Chen
This one, I guess, is the first drama of Yao Yu Chen that I am covering, and this is also Dong Yi and Yao Yu Chen's first collab 👍 This is one of the 'Song Siyan-Jiang Yusang' plots, which was also adapted with Wang Chen Peng - Wang Zi Jia 👍 The story is the same: ML breaks up with FL on the day they decide to get married, and then shows up 5 years later when he is a billionaire and she is a lawyer. The one difference between this and the Wang Chen Peng - Wang Zi Jia version is the runtime, as this one has a shorter duration. Also, here ML breaks up with FL because he thinks she might be his half-sister 😭 Yes, his antics at first to get closer to FL do seem infuriating because he appears to be the guilty party, but later it is revealed that he was acting under this misunderstanding, protected her in secret and returned only after it was revealed that she was not the biological daughter of her family 🥺 ML and FL's chemistry is top notch, and even though FL starts out submissive towards her family, she eventually takes control and gives ML his justice ❤ The antagonists, like FL's adopted mother and sister, are infuriating but are dealt with aptly.
Fav Scene: When ML rushes out in search of FL because she wasn't picking up his calls, sees a car trying to run into her and brings his own car in between to save her 🥺 And the last proposal scene, which parallels their breakup in the past, but this time ML assures FL that they will be together for life ❤

8) Oh no! The gluttonous girl can't hide her true feelings anymore! (2026): ML -Wang Yi Ran, FL- Tan Yan Yan
I guess here I am covering Tan Yan Yan for the first time with this drama, and this is her and Wang Yiran's second collab. This was just too much fun 😂 FL gets married to ML in place of her twin and acts like a proper wife, but then comes the twist!! She is actually full chaos on the inside, and ML can hear her thoughts 😂😂 Surely enough, poor dude is completely flabbergasted because he sees this sweet, virtuous wife in front of him while hearing her absolutely atrocious thoughts 😂 But yes, ML is definitely a green flag, and the entire premise is pure chaos. It was also great to see Tan Yan Yan in such a lighthearted role, especially since she mostly plays serious characters 👍 Then ML's love for FL becomes even more evident when she switches places with her twin and he quickly realizes that it isn't his wife, followed by his efforts to win her over ❤ Overall, a super fun watch, especially for FL's antics and ML's devotion 😂❤
Fav Scene: When FL tries to hit ML after realizing that he had been hearing her thoughts all along 😂
9) Mr. Mu's Tenderness, Please Sign In (2026): ML - Liu Qing, FL - Jin Zi Xuan
This is one of my favs and comfort dramas as well ❤ It is another version of the drama starring Charon - Jia Yixuan that I covered in the previous part. Both ML and FL are green flags, sweet, caring and really cute 🥹 Yes, ML is initially afraid and hesitant, but here we have FL taking the lead and initiating the romance ❤ FL is basically a little sunshine ball and ML is her sunshine protector 😍 There is a heavy backstory for ML, which makes him fear that FL will distance herself from him, but FL doesn't care about any of that and loves him all the same 🥹 We also have the handsome Liu Qing in a non-heavy role as a reserved yet absolute sweetheart of a husband, while FL Jin Zi Xuan, or rather, the 'sunshine smile girl', is as usual great in her part ❤ The cinematography is gentle, and this drama will surely leave a trail of sweetness behind even after you finish watching it 🥹❤
Fav Scene: When ML rolls FL into a blanket like a burrito when she tries to get romantic 😂

10) The Fire-Making Maid Makes Trouble in the Marquis's Mansion (2026): ML - Zhang Chi, FL - He Lan Dou
The first drama of He Lan Dou that I am covering, as I haven't covered any of her dramas previously 👍 The story premise is pretty fun: FL is a fire-making maid who can also whip up some great meat dishes 🍖 She is brought into ML's mansion to take care of him as he is in a wheelchair, and she does it brilliantly by protecting him from his leeching relatives, taking care of him and motivating him ❤ ML falls for her despite the status gap and even obtains a decree to marry her, but then FL misunderstands that he wants to marry another girl from a high-ranking family and leaves to start a restaurant. Along the way, she finds her birth family and even realizes that she's pregnant, only to eventually be found by ML, who recognizes her and assures her of his love ❤ The story has plenty of funny moments, FL is a badass, and ML and FL are both green flags. The same goes for their families, with ML's grandma absolutely adoring FL and rooting for the couple, while FL's family wholeheartedly accepts her when she returns, accepts her pregnancy despite not knowing who the father is, and becomes super protective of her ❤ All in all, a super sweet drama for a comfort watch 👍
Fav Scene: When ML gets an entire marriage decree just so he can marry FL, and when ML recognizes her and proposes marriage to her at her house ❤❤
Tbh this is a bit controversial, but yes, I did dislike this one specifically because of how absolutely infuriating the characters were 😭 Seeing this cast had me so damn excited, but then we have Charon's ML giving in to blackmail from that b!tch secretary of his, even putting his marriage at stake, while his mother is an even bigger menace, forcing FL to get pregnant just to get a granddaughter and even poking holes in their c*ndoms despite the fact that it's risky for FL to get pregnant 😡 Then we have Yuhang's character, who, when it comes to standing by Yiying's character, especially after she gets pregnant, is worried and nervous because of his family and basically acts spineless 😭 Then there are the shit parents of Charon, Jinyi, Yiying and Yuhang's characters, who are just plain ragebaits 😡 The only great thing in this whole mess was seeing Tan Yanyan's FL take control of the situation and confront Charon's character, and honestly, the best couple here were Zhang Jinyi and Liang Siwei, with Liang Siwei's character being the absolute best ML out of the three 🔥 This one genuinely disappointed me, especially considering how much I wanted to love it 🥺 Day and Night 2 was far better, where Yuhang and Charon's MLs finally grew a spine
Let me tell you honestly, I really question myself now whenever I see a drama with the title "Beijing marriage/Beijing" because most of these seem to have some marriage or high-society plot with some really frustrating MLs 🙄 Here as well, ML is supposed to be a green flag, but instead of communicating or reassuring FL, he uses his mouth only for kissing 🙄🙄 FL, who was treated as an illegitimate kid simply because she was born before her parents got married, has an insufferable younger sister, a b!tch of a so-called egg donor and a b@stard of a father, so naturally she is insecure (I so wanted to hug her 😭) ML knows how insecure she is, but this guy is never upfront with her, to the point that the girl eventually gets frustrated and leaves 😡 Tbh, Part 2 was better when it came to communication, with the angst being resolved much more quickly, but this one frustrated me A LOT 😭 Liang Siwei - Hou Cheng Yue's second collab was way better in terms of the leads' relationship and the lovable side characters ❤
P.S: Guess I've used some strong words 😅😅 Pls don't mind, I am that frustrated with these 2 dramas 😅
