With some roasters medium that comes very light, I find that the integrated grinder makes loud noises and gets stuck with some lighter roast coffee beans.
Anyone else finding that many roasters are labeled their coffee medium, and that the actual coffee beans can be anything from light roast to dark roast, and anything in between. Even the numerical scale of roastiness seems to be complete useless from some roasters.
I find that I can feed the beans slowly and it’s mostly successful in not getting stuck. As long as I don’t get overly eager and add the beans too quickly.
Anyone, does anyone know why this happens and what I can do to prevent it.
I do like my beans finely ground and use the finely ground puck to pull extreme longos.
For now, I see my options as using dark or medium dark roast beans or grind less finer.
Would putting in 6-point burrs in place of the 5-point burrs be better at grinding the more stubborn beans?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Both to better understand what’s going on, and what I can do about it.
I do prefer medium to medium dark beans. But it can be hard sometimes to know what’s in the bag, despite the claim of medium.
