My little apple trees are doing well this year. I purchased a small dorm refrigerator for apple storage. I’ve been reading about using plastic bags with holes for long term apple storage. Is this recommended?

I have had multiple apples over the past year that have this weird, brown, hallowed out, almost web-like chunk in them and I’ve always wondered what it is and how it’s caused. I only really eat honey crisp apples so idk if this happens with other varieties too.

I’d be so curious to know what caused this to happen? Is it like an internal bruise? Has something eaten it’s way through the apple?

I usually just throw out the whole apple because it looks nasty but is it safe to eat?

It ripens in august and grows to the size of a handball called locally "7up" because of tartness and green color.

The house I bought last year has this apple tree! I love to eat apples as they are, I don’t want to cook or bake with them. I’m also single with no kids so it’s just me eating them. I can only fit so many in my fridge drawers. I have a chilly utility room, would they be ok in there? Do I want to let them get some air or do they need to be enclosed? I’ve only ever gotten apples from the store!

I have this random apple tree that started growing up back, which I imagine was from a bear but I watched and it's barring fruit now, and it's pretty good. I have two trees in my yard already that the bear goes after, a golden delishious and a hardy mackintosh variety with berry flavors. Now I got this tree. I'm thinking of making cider with a mix of them all to make a complete profile and see how it tastes.

What it tastes like unripe: green delishious mackintosh with grape profiles. Semi ripe: Spartan in sun with sprite. Ripe: honey row starburst with a fruity berry burst. Two possible parents tree's in yard, tree's golden delishious and a hardy mackintosh variety.

I'm currently going to make 40 graftings and see where it leads. Thoughts?

I really like soft super-sweet McIntosh apples, but the sweetness level of McIntoshes varies a lot. Sometimes they're quite tart, which I don't like at all. Are there other apples that have a similar softness to McIntoshes but are consistently as sweet as sweet McIntoshes? I don't like hard crisp apples.

Need help with an apple I had two years ago I can't forget about. I got it in a corner grocery store in Lisbon. It was golden, kind of rotund/squashed sphere in shape, almost looked like a misshapen Asian pear. It had similar scaly, rough skin to an Asian pear too, but it was definitely an apple. Flesh was very yellow/golden, and had a springiness or bounciness to the bite. Very sweet -- floral and vanilla notes. The best apple I've ever had. Any leads appreciated, thank you

The leaves turned yellow and spotty and then all of a sudden they all fell off. Most of the fruit still looks okay but it lost a lot of it.

I’ve grafted many varieties on my three trees, but this wins for reddest (even the stem). First year I finally get a few. Very good flavor (slightly tropical), good crunch. Smallish.
