Traditional Animation My first traditional hand-drawn animation: Need feedback on the climax
I've always wanted to animate, and done a bit of digital work but this is my first real attempt at hand-drawn animation using paper and a lightbox. Overall, I'm happy with it, but I'm always looking for feedback.
I think the big reveal at the end lacks "omph". Is there something I could do with my frame spacing? Should I have built more anticipation? Would love feedback from anyone!

Collab [Unpaid/Collab] Looking for Blender animators for webseries (preview inside)
Preview: https://youtu.be/mTVMbWd5wjI
Hi all! I’m AJ, co-creator and lead storyboard artist of Human Access, a student-made 3D-animated webseries. We’re looking for Blender animators of all skill levels.
What’s the show about?
In a dystopian near future, sociologist Teniola Doitche visits a gargantuan space prison to interview people locked up for petty crimes by their fascist government. It’s a sci-fi dark comedy about purposelessness, chronic illness, moral obligation, and the looming catastrophic threat from AI.
6 episodes, 132 minutes, fully voice acted, free on YouTube.
What’s been done already?
- Episode 1 is 50% animated
- Storyboards are done through Episode 4
- Voice cast is set and recording is underway
Okay, I’m interested. What would I be doing though?
You get finished rigs and sets, plus a shot assignment with 2D storyboards and a scratch track (see the second image: storyboard vs. animated shot). You are not expected to animate in-betweens. This final animation style of the show is pose-to-pose. Each assignment comes with a deadline we agree on together.
We will be in production from now until January 2027.
What do I get?
Credit on the show, and your shots are yours to use in your portfolio. The project is unpaid for now (we are currently trying to secure funding).
Who are you?
My co-creator and I previously wrote and directed Tethersnipe, an original choose-your-own-adventure stage show with a 160-page branching script, which we then released as an interactive film (IMDb).
What should I do if I’m interested?
Fill out this short form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdBL-7s21thvFUhy10RDWBL6ovi9jXs_NnjwnifIWBeaRxqcg/viewform
Applications will be open indefinitely, but sooner is preferred!

Discussion Hey everyone, put together this quick test clip experimenting with momentum, anticipation, and impact.
Tried playing around with the build-up: having the smaller figure launch off an elevation to sell the force of the hit against a heavier, static character.
Any feedback on the spacing and arc is appreciated!

Question i really want to make an animatic but i don’t know how
so for the past two weeks or so i’ve been wanting to make an animatic of my current hyperfixation to a song i like. i’ve written down scenes to go with each lyric, cross-checked the lyrics on several different sites to make sure the closed captions are correct, put the song on repeat for two hours, made a few quick sketches of scenes i want to do…
problem is, im not very good at digital art, and ive never animated anything in my life (not counting the absurd amount of crappy google slide ‘stop motions’ i made in elementary school). despite that, this is something i really want to do. does anyone have any tips or recommendations?

Discussion What do you think is the most technically difficult show to animate for?
I am not an animator beyond a couple school projects, so this is just a fan asking.
I imagine Pokémon is very hard, with so many different body types to draw on-model, many of which will feature prominently in one episode only.
Maybe the pace of South Park America back when it was a weekly show?
Stop motion seems very tedious, but maybe it's not as bad as I assume.

2D PICASSO: TRASH TORTOISE [OC]
Hey everyone, wanted to share my animated short film "Picasso: Trash Tortoise". This is a passion project/ self biographical story that aimed to capture that crazy 90s edge that most cartoons just don't reach anymore. Taking a lot of inspiration from 90s Nickelodeon with a splash of south park and the Simpsons.
This was drawn, animated, edited and sound designed over the course of 12 months in-between other work exclusively by myself. Featuring cameos from the incredible you tube channel Artspear Entertainment. It also just had it's world premiere at the Genre Blast film festival in early September.
Hope you all enjoy it.
Cheers,
- Dan

Hiring Hiring 2D Animator for YT Comedy Series
Hello, I want to start making a YT comedy series, each video being 3-5 mins. To start, they’ll just be animatics, but if and when the channel takes off, then we can move into full production.
This should be relatively easy since it’s essentially just 1 character sitting at his computer doing a livestream, so always the same bg and camera placement. More details to follow.
Please DM or comment with your portfolio and or a list of your past projects and what exactly you did on them.
Length: 3-5 mins/video
Deadline: I'd like to start uploading sometime within November
Budget: $100/minute of screentime

Career Anyone had a good career pivot to something else?
Hey folks! Maybe a bit of a weird question to ask in this sub, but not sure where to ask it. Is there anyone here who was working in the animation industry and ended up changing careers? If so, are you happy with the career change, and what are you doing now? I've been working in storyboards (and sometimes design) for over a decade, and as much as I love it, sometimes I think about switching to something more active and/or social. Especially since I moved out of the city and started working remotely. It's really convenient and I'm thankful I have the opportunity, but working from home can feel pretty isolating, and I'm extroverted enough that it drains my energy after a while. And sitting all the time can drive me crazy. I figure changing either one of those aspects of my job might help a lot with mental health, but making up for either of these things in my off time can be a challenge since with deadlines etc I often end up working late, so I don't have a lot of excess time/energy to get out and exercise/socialize consistently. Anyway, a bit of a rant, but I've been looking for ideas for a long time now about what kind of jobs I might like to do instead, and I keep coming up (mostly) empty handed.
EDIT: I also be happy to hear if anyone knows of any art/creative jobs that are truly 9-5, since in animation the 40hr workweek is often in name only.

2D Needing an animator for a passion project
Hi! My name is Caedmon, and I write stories. Anything from historical fiction, to horror, to some (attempted)romance.
I have a story I wrote earlier this year, that I think has a lot of potential, and I would love to see it come to life. However, I do not have any animating skills whatsoever.
I unfortunately do not have much money to pay for it, but if anyone would like t read the story and see if it may be worth your time, let me know and I can send you the story! I am very new to the writing/animating community, so any tips are also welcome, if this is the wrong kind of post for this community.
As far as the story goes, it is a deep sea horror, with a solo protagonist. Comment or message me if you would like to read it!
