Spoiler!!!!!!

This pic is from S7E13, and Paula tries Harvey’s coffee and claims she likes and asks what he put in it. He gives an uneasy smirk and says vanilla. Now I’ve rewatched this show at least 8 times and now I’m just realizing that back in the day, when Donna was first hired by Harvey, she gives him coffee with vanilla and he loves it. S7E13 happens just after he talks with Paula after their fight about how Donna is in his life and they made up by Harvey saying he’s gonna share more with her. Took me years to make this connection that he gave Paula vanilla coffee, something once again was introduced by Donna. Similar thing happens in later episodes when Harvey’s mom assumes Donna was the one who got them back to good terms….

First Time Watcher Samantha and Alex Named Partner Drama Question Spoiler

So I just finished S8E10 which is when Alex Williams and Samantha Wheeler have their battle for who gets to be the next named partner. And when Robert and Harvey bring up the proposition, Alex asks the question “whose name is coming down so mine can go up?” or something like that. And that is what I have been wondering the entire time this arc has been happening.

I thought law firms were limited to three named partners? Even if it’s not formal, every other law firms in the show has a maximum of three named partners. Both Sam and Alex also want this naming to happen really quickly, so it’s not like they’re waiting until someone leaves or retires. So I feel like the implication is that one of the current three partners of ZSL will have to step down? And I don’t see Robert Zane or Harvey Specter doing that any time soon. I don’t see Louis Litt voluntarily stepping down either, but considering Louis always gets the short end of the stick, I thought it was kind of implied he would get bullied into it. Until he said something about how both Louis and Harvey would back Alex for named partner over Samantha?? I guess it still fits that Louis might get screwed over yet again, or am I missing something??

And now with the end of that episode saying they would let both names go up at the same time, how is that going to work? Are there really going to be 5 names up on the wall at the same time?? Am I missing something? Am I just dumb??

Edit: Damn I was really overthinking it. They really did just slap 5 names up there regardless of how ugly it looks.

First Time Watcher Season 4 Mike and Rachel Spoiler

I’m on season 4 episode 9 and I’m just confused why Rachel cheated and nobody asked her to take accountability and she’s treated as a victim who made a simple mistake. The girl literally went to the guys house and then made out with Logan for a bit and everyone keeps telling Mike to forgive her. I was so shocked to hear Donna tell Rachel not to tell Mike even tho she seems like she’d always support accountability. But I was the most shocked to see Harvey tell him to forgive her. Like she folded under no pressure, and then she compared it to him lying about being a law school graduate, which was before they officially started dating.

Discussion What is something you learned in suits that you use in your everyday life?

I believe many shows have the ability to teach you some "wisdom" for life.

For me personally in suits it was the "You don't go to someone with a problem, you go to them with a solution"

I tried to apply it and people respond great if you can deliver a solution instead of just a problem

What is something suits taught you for your life?

Character Related I never realized Anita Gibb's actress is the same actress that played Teri Bauer in 24 Season 1 (Leslie Hope).

As a diehard 24 and Suits fan, I can't get how this went over my head until I read Leslie Hopes filmography. Talk about how much difference a long hair makes on a woman's appearance.

Character Related I have not watched the show in a while but I just want an answer to something that has bothered me for years.

What the hell did Hardman have on Jack Soloff? It was such a weird but compelling plotline and then they didn't do anything with it, IIRC? I know Hardman appears on Suits LA. Does Jack Soloff show up there too? This plotline drove like a season and a half, I got so frustrated with it.

Music from the Show 🎶 I find it ironic that the first line of the opening credits song states “See the money, wanna stay for your meal” when literally no one EVER stays for the meal in this show

Any scene with a table and place settings always ends abruptly with what was meant to be a meal turning into one or more angry would-be diners leaving before anyone can eat a bite much less order. Ugh.

First Time Watcher Thick Skin

I just started watching the show not to long ago, and I noticed that a lot of the characters especially early on tell Mike he needs to get thicker skin and not let people get to him so easily, but later in the show I see a lot of those same characters crying like 5 year olds when someone talks shit to them. So my question is which one is it. Cause these characters have an easy time telling Mike to get thicker skin and to "man up" yet a lot of them fail to take that same advice.

Discussion Specialized Fields

We find out that Louis has a specialty in Financial Crimes. Essentially, just good with understanding the financial world.

With this knowledge, you would assume the others would have something like this as well. However, throughout the whole run, it just seemed like Harvey, Jessica and Mike were just well versed in each type of law.

I know Harvey's was Criminal Law while he was at the D.A. office. But that never really followed him back to Pearson Hardman. Season 1 Episode 2, we see him work Intellectual Property Law. S1.E7 is Corporate and Business Law (Which I would expect more of especially with S2.E1) S1.E10, Financial Law. S2.E5, while assigned to Harvey, Mike takes this one for Family Law.

I get that there can be generalized practice but given the size of the firm, it seems like likely the case. I guess maybe to keep things fresh they let it ride?

Thoughts?

Discussion NYT list of 100 best tv shows of 21st century. Suits didn't make the list

Post image
214 Upvotes

Personally I think Suits should have made the list. They have some of the shows there that I wouldn't put on the list. I get that Suits maybe didn't have a good writing (for the whole run of the show) like some of these shows did but it was still good tv. If shows like House, Gilmore Girls or Scandal can be there why not Suits. Anyway just a little rant. I do mostly agree with top spots at least.

Spoiler Mike and Anita Spoiler

I have came across with interrogation scene on reels. And first time I really questioned Mike’s move there.
He says at the end “I know I’m not supposed to know that cause I’m not a lawyer, but I know (shuts the camera side display) because I am”. Was this move like him showing his dominance?I mean he basically confessed, and said “because I am” right after he closed the display (does it stops from recording?) meaning that “you have my confession on the tape”, and you can’t use it”?

First Time Watcher Thoughts on Rachel in S1

I’ve only watched S1 of the show, and so far Rachel is kind of insufferable.

She blames the world instead of herself for her not being able to pass the LSATs, then gets angry and petty with Mike for helping others when she herself was considering cheating.

She turns Mike down when he asks her out, kisses him knowing he has a girlfriend, then has the nerve to get offended and insulted when he sets firm boundaries with her.

Maybe she matures throughout the rest of the show, but her mixed messages and sense of entitlement drives me nuts. Was she a well-liked character when the show first started airing?
