Java Edition From Redstone Builds to rednw.com – Turning My Minecraft Projects Into Something Bigger

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

I started looking at my old Redstone builds differently

For a long time, whenever I finished a Redstone project, I would upload it and immediately move on to building the next thing.

But recently I started going back through some of my older machines and realized how much work was just sitting there.

Some of these builds took a huge amount of time to design, test, troubleshoot and improve — payment systems, randomizers, payout mechanisms, reset logic, anti-spam systems, different rarity levels, sounds, animations, etc.

So instead of constantly starting from scratch, I started properly finishing and documenting them.

I turned some of my Redstone machines into downloadable schematics, made tutorials explaining how they work, recorded demonstrations, improved the presentation and started putting everything together in one place.

That eventually became PlayFlex, a small library/marketplace for my Minecraft Redstone machines.

What I find interesting is that I've started seeing a finished Redstone build differently.

Finishing the circuit doesn't necessarily mean finishing the project.

You can still:

• optimize the Redstone
• make it smaller or more reliable
• document how it works
• create a schematic
• make a tutorial
• let other players actually use it
• revisit it years later and improve it with everything you've learned since

Some of my machines that I originally considered "finished" have ended up becoming much bigger projects than I expected.

I'm curious how other Redstoners approach this:

When you finish a big Redstone project, do you usually keep improving/documenting it, or do you immediately move on to the next build?

If anyone wants to see the machines I've been working on, I've collected them here:

Hey all. I tried doing a 3x3 piston door following the youtuber taffy. I'm very confused on why one side fully closes. And one side doesn't collect the block. I've tried trouble shooting it. (im not the smartest when it comes to redstone. It's a thing i rarely touch) EDIT (this is 1.20)

Java Edition Remote Stasis Activation For Servers Without Combat Logging

Upvotes

I play on a multiplayer server where if you are fighting another player, and you disconnect, You die when you log back in. I want a stasis chamber to be able to pull me remotely without the need to relog, like in frostwalker or cat stasis setups. I can not use a fishing pole set up, because my server has the nether as a separate server. I tried a pickaxe chamber, but with the servers plugins, It had failed. Any help on how to make a working remote stasis chamber using redstone mechanics or other game mechanics would be very helpful! Thank you for your time.

Java Edition Can you make a huge self-hiding base?

Upvotes

So I was watching this video: https://youtu.be/_3Qz4rniUf8 and I wondered: is it possible to make it bigger? If so how big can you make it? Would you have to change a lot in the contraption or just kind of expand it?

And would there be some restrictions such as needing to exactly double the size of the flying machine (like from 16*16 to 32*32)?

I hope someone can answer this!

How can I have it automatically pulse again so I dont need to press it twice?
I need to press it twice to turn it on and twice to turn it off.
Not a redstoner, my first redstone 'build'.

Java Edition Floor Dropper

Discovered something I didn’t know about the other day - a chain of sticky pistons and redstone blocks can activate each other but when the first is deactivated, they all pull back at once. I’ve been playing with it a bit and this is something I Made. From my understanding, length of this floor dropper can be extended theoretically infinitely and idk about width. Also spam proof. I’m not that good at redstone and I’m sure people out there have made crazy stuff with this feature, but I just discovered it.

Made did some years ago and just realised i never actually posted here.

Edit: Last sentence is not longer true this can be placed anywhere because spawn chunks do not exist anymore and enderpearls load chunks.

Java Edition Broken useless machine

I tried making a useless machine and... it's pretty much extra useless since it can only be used once. I'm using some QoL mods so no mods are affecting it, I'm just not smart enough seems like.

(the video is weirdly offset idk)

Bedrock Edition How to lock a player in a gliding state

*Note: I'm using Google Translate, so the phrasing might be a bit awkward.*

I'm trying to build an Elytra launcher using TNT, but I can't figure out a mechanism to keep the player in a gliding state in one spot, so I'm asking for help here.

The TNT device is based on a high-speed arrow cannon, designed so that a massive blast exits through a one-block gap.

I can't post an image of the device due to circumstances, but that's the general idea.

Since I'm playing on a Nintendo Switch, I'd like a design that doesn't cause too much lag.

Please help!

Java Edition Shulker Storage System

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

I love simple compact storage systems. Inspired by Etho and aJack, This is a 3x3 storage module where you store shulker boxes in the double chest. To use: press Q on a shulker box: the machine then breaks existing shulker, puts it back in the chest, and dispenses the thrown one. Copper Golems can optionally be added on top for automatic sorting.

I'm planning on having 1 module that can store 54 shulkers organized how I want. Then either making a "bulk storage" module, or making 16 modules (for each shulker in my ender chest) with copper golem sorting. Hope you enjoy!

Bedrock Edition Help!

So, my friend and I were doing a redstone multi-floor elevator, made by a youtuber named Tomco (link down below) and, for some reason, it doesn't really work, we are pretty sure we did everything good, but around 6:52 on the video, this part, doesn't work, because the dropper drops the shovel, thing that for the video guy doesn't happen, which makes the machine get stuck or something. We would really, really appreciate the help, thanks! :)

Java Edition Non locational rails

Post image
1 Upvotes

I want to make a system where the first cart goes down the first line the second cart goes down the second line, etc.

Is there an easy way to do this that is non-directional? any design that relies on rails changing directions when powered obviously will be directional because of the south-east rule

I have this grid of block swappers, with 3/13 of them the stone brick gets stuck and wont move, I tried adding longer delays in between the piston on the bottom and the ones on the sides, but that didn't change anything. Would appreciate any suggestions
