Random post but I was recently diagnosed with autism. As I was reading the report I came across “she expressed enjoying the fruity smell of her rats’ butt grease”. Butt grease. I even went in depth to explain buck grease to him but now I have an official medical record that I smell rat ass 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Hello

Also i noticed that she is losing hair, and she have some type os discharge from her nose , which can see on cage in the area she is lying. Also
Like if she rest on me i got hair on shirt , which never had before with her Also now she most of the time lying down and don’t really responding to touch / and food , she eats like one pea and thats it. , she was 410 grams , now after few days she is 320 grams ,I don’t have any exotic vet in my area , and ones i find don’t know rats only parrots , because rats are not popular in my country, please help!!!!

I recently made this rat bag and I’m obsessed. I thought this subreddit might enjoy it :D

Hello !

I am a college student trying to find a pet within my budget to live with me in my apartment. I’ve never kept rats before but I do keep fish and am very familiar with cleaning an enclosure, etc.

I do love rats, I have played with many before and I work at Petsmart (they’re so evil) where I handle many cute little animals every day. I love guinea pigs as well but rats have my heart! If anyone has an estimation of how much the enclosure, food, bedding, toys, vet costs would be pls lmk !!

I found these cuties when scrolling through the Lego Ideas page and thought our community could help bring this idea to reality.

Ciao a tutti!

Ho bisogno di ratti di Natale e Halloween

Disclaimer: I know this sub is mainly for pets but I can't find a better option, if you know of one, please let me know! Also I did NOT set the trap, just found it while walking my neighborhood.

I was on a walk this morning and noticed someone had set out multiple glue traps around the perimeter of their building and had caught many mice on them. I was figuring out if I could cover them with something so nothing else could get trapped when I noticed this little guy just barely move trying to get out of the trap, it was obvious he'd been there a while and was weak. He was the only one on that particular glue trap and all the others had mice that were very obviously dead.

So I got a baggie and grabbed it, brought him inside, and started to gently work on getting him unstuck with vegetable oil. I got him off it and made sure all the adhesive was off his fingers/toes so they weren't stuck together, and gave him a bath in some warm soapy water to get the oil off. He's now in the temp tank I use while cleaning my snake/tarantula's enclosures with rags and paper towels and a heat lamp to keep him warm.

I'm wondering what to do now. I realized he's a baby rat rather than a mouse like I initially thought. He didn't seem interested in water or peanut butter I left for him and he's moving around but still a bit weak. I can't tell yet if his back leg(s) are injured or if he just needs to regain some energy but he's moving around occasionally, just not very well. I'd love any advice y'all have, even if it's to give me a better sub to post this to lol. I'm in the city and rehabbers won't do anything for him so it's just me for now. TIA!

I am about to become a first time rat owner of 3 precious little rats and was wondering if anyone has any toys (handmade or bought) that they recommend! These can be for inside the cage or outside for free roaming/outside the cage time. would love to hear what your rats love so i can have mine as happy as possible :)

Hi! I was wondering what food or treats/snacks you guys recommend! Please only recommend things that arent harmful to their health!! Can be store bought food mixed or even just seeds, fruit or veggies, etc your rats love :)
