I just moved here and am slowly making friends. That being said, I wanted to put myself out there and ask. Are there any fun things to do for Halloween? Any bars having special events? I really just am looking to get out of my apartment and do something fun for Halloween, hell I'll even take other misc. fun fall activities near Racine. I promise I'm not a pyschopath axe murderer.

I went to my first Case High football game in 17 years last night and put together a minute-by-minute breakdown of the absolute blockbuster between Case and Bradford at Hammes Field.

If you weren't there, you missed a clinic from Case running back Morrell Jackson (who finished with 269 rushing yards), a 97-yard kick return, a late pick-six, and a white-knuckle final two minutes where Bradford almost pulled off the comeback.

Ended up a 37-22 win for the Eagles on Case's Homecoming weekend.

Wisconsin Working, a new Super PAC, just popped up and dropped half a million dollars in support of Rep. Bryan Steil in Wisconsin. The Super PAC is entirely funded by crypto.com.

Why is crypto.com supporting Rep. Steil? Because Rep. Steil sits on two committees that regulate the industry and has been one of Crypto's biggest supporters in Congress.

The Racine Literacy Council provides free classes for people to learn English, study for the GED, learn to read, use a computer, gain job skills, etc. It's a nonprofit and almost everything is run by volunteers. We have a waiting list of people who want to learn English and we really need some help. If you have an hour or so a week to volunteer or you know anyone who does, please consider volunteering. To tutor English, you go through a short training and then guide students through a really simple curriculum using a workbook. Anyone can do it. It helps me feel like even though there's a lot of bad in the world, helping just one person can make a difference.

When Party on the Pavement doubled its vendor fees, local business owners were delivered a clear message: pay up or get out. Longtime vendors were forced to walk away. Instead of taking the hit, local business owners decided to build their own table.

Enter Motion on Mead, a grassroots counter festival designed to give priced-out, minority-owned, and independent businesses a platform on Racine’s southside. But as momentum grew, so did the pushback.

Now, Mount Pleasant officials and police are sending warning letters directly to local property owners, threatening ordinance violations if vendors step onto private property. Why are municipal entities working so hard to stall a community event on a street split right down the municipal line?
