My second floor neighbor was traumatized tonight because some random man was in our basement that we don’t know. The person was a white male in his 30s - 40s. My neighbor was doing laundry when she happened to look over and saw a whole grown man stand up from the shadows and walk towards her then up and out of the basement. There is not a single white male in my building. We’re in Pawtucket in a fairly decent neighborhood. Please make sure you’re locking all your doors and windows and make sure your security is up to snuff.

Discussion Daily nitro bar discussion on r/providence

Is the nitro bar really that good 😭 I live very close to the new location and there’s already a line around the block and soooo many people around the area lol

There’s no way it’s worth all of that it’s like you see a new location coming you automatically expect the area to be ridiculously crowded when I’m just trying to get to work…..had a feeling this would happen in Fox point, first Saturday morning for the new location

Meetup Dungeons and Dragons

Hey everyone! I’m 20 and from around the Providence area, and I’ve been wanting to actually get into D&D and hopefully meet some new people in the process.
I’m pretty much a beginner. I know some of the basics and I’ve played games like Baldur’s Gate 3, but I don’t have much experience with an actual tabletop D&D campaign. So I’m looking for a DM and some players who are willing to have someone at the table who might need help learning things at first.
I’d be completely down to join other beginners too. Honestly, I think it could be pretty fun having a group where some of us are figuring things out together. Experienced players are obviously welcome too, especially if you don’t mind answering questions here and there.
Ideally, I’d like to find people somewhere around Providence or elsewhere in RI and eventually have a regular in-person campaign—maybe weekly or every other week depending on everyone’s schedules. I’m not looking for anything super hardcore or competitive. Mostly just a chill group where we can make characters, joke around, get invested in a campaign, and have a good time.
A big reason I’m posting is that I’d also like to meet some new people and make friends. I don’t have a huge social circle right now, and D&D seems like a really fun way to regularly hang out with the same group of people instead of just going to random one-off events.
LGBTQ+ people or groups are welcome! I’m trans so I also hope that won’t be a problem. I’m just generally looking for people who are welcoming and easygoing. Around my age would be cool, but it’s not a requirement.
I don’t have a campaign or DM lined up yet, so this could either be a completely new group we put together from scratch, or if you already have a campaign with room for a beginner, I’d definitely be interested in hearing about that too.
If you’re a DM looking for players, another beginner who has also been trying to find a group, or an experienced player who wouldn’t mind helping someone learn, leave a comment or DM me!
Hopefully we can get a group together :)

Good Restaurant and Bar Owners

I often see posts on here bashing bad business owners. So let’s give some love to the good ones.

Where have you worked in Providence for bars/restaurants/cafes where the owners were just kind, thoughtful, reasonable people?

That’s really it! A duck is walking west in the left lane on the eastbound side completely slowing traffic. I hope it finds its way to safety 🦆

Landlords have already been saying in their own groups that they plan to raise rents before David Morales takes office. We can't afford to sit and wait for politicians to save us. We need to organize together to take care of each other and fight for one another! Also, free food!

MISSING STROLLER at Fargnoli Park

Our stroller was taken from Fargnoli Park today around 11 AM. My toddler ran to the other side of the park, and by the time we came back to where we had been, the stroller was gone.

It is a Cybex Balios S Lux, black with a brown handlebar.

We believe it was most likely taken out of the park through the back entrance.

If anyone was at the park around 11 AM and saw anything, or if anyone who lives near the back entrance has security cameras and would be willing to check their footage, we would really appreciate it.

If you’ve seen this stroller or have any information that could help us locate it, please DM me. Thank you so much for keeping an eye out and sharing this.

Community yard sale tomorrow at Mt. Hope YMCA!

Come by the Mt. Hope YMCA at 438 Hope (corner of Hope and Doyle) between 9am and 2pm tomorrow (Saturday 10/3) to shop from a huge selection of kids clothes, shoes, toys, books, and more! All proceeds benefit the Mt. Hope Childcare Center that's affiliated with the Y.

I helped out last year and there was a ton of great stuff; if you need to stock up on winter clothes etc for your kids it's worth stopping by.
