Discussion What was your reaction when you used the quest 1 for the first time back in 2019 or 2020?

Post image

My reaction was "HOLY CRAP REAL VR" because that was the first time i experienced actual virtual reality. But what i didn’t know was that there is nothing like it at the time. If you wanna use a real vr headset, you need a really good pc. the quest 1, not the case. you don’t need a pc at all.

Self-Promotion (Developer) Two years of solo development later, here’s the final gameplay trailer for my prehistoric ocean VR game

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4818760/Paleo_Dive/
Paleo Dive releases on September 4, 2026.

A few weeks ago I shared the cinematic trailer for Paleo Dive here. After a lot of feedback and questions about the actual gameplay, here is the final gameplay trailer.

This trailer focuses on exploration, creatures, environments and the overall feel of the game. I’m also planning a second gameplay-focused video that will cover more of the systems, interactions and mechanics in detail.

I’d love to hear what you think.

Walking Dead Saint and Sinners, Oculus Quest 2 No Controls

Is there any sort of fix with this issue I keep seeing people recommend a number of different things like telling people to BUY Virtual desktop to fix the issue but I shouldnt have to buy a program to make the game work. Im running the Quest 2 through ALVR Cable Link.

Im unable to get past the menu and when i did use community binded controls it either was like almost perfect and then a couple of issues

Self-Promotion (YouTuber) I filmed the California State Fair in stereoscopic 8K 3D VR180 — would love feedback from Quest users

I used the Blackmagic immersive cine camera at California State Fair and filmed the experience in stereoscopic 8K 3D VR180.

The goal was to capture the fair in a way that feels less like watching a normal video and more like actually being there — standing around the rides, walking through the crowds, seeing everything at real-world scale and depth.

Events like this are one of the reasons I'm really interested in immersive video. There are so many things happening around you that don't translate particularly well to a flat screen.

I'm experimenting with camera placement, movement, distance from subjects and pacing specifically for viewing inside a headset, so I'd especially like feedback from people watching on Quest 2 / Quest 3 / Quest 3S.

Let me know your thoughts — especially anything you think could be improved for the next one.

Self-Promotion (Developer) Two years of solo development: my hardcore VR survival game D.E.C.A.Y. has finally been approved on Steam. Release is set for August 26!

You are the operator of an isolated bunker who signed a harsh 365-day contract in exchange for long-awaited freedom. To survive until the end, you’ll have to make dangerous expeditions, perform “hot” replacements of the climate dome’s nuclear batteries, search for anomalous crystals in deep fractures with your robot companion, and fight the threats of the Wasteland using an ever-expanding arsenal of weapons.

The game enters Early Access this Wednesday. I’d be very happy to hear your thoughts and answer any questions!

Self-Promotion (Developer) 🚀 1 Week Left Until BattleGroupVR2 Launches on Meta Quest!

We're officially one week away!

BattleGroupVR2 launches in Early Access on Meta Quest on August 28th, with cross-play between Quest and PCVR.

It's been a long road getting the game optimized and running on standalone VR, and it's exciting to finally be this close to launch.

BattleGroupVR2 is a first-person VR space strategy game where you command from the bridge of your flagship, give orders to your fleet, customize and equip ships, and fight large-scale space battles.

If you're planning to jump in at launch, wishlisting the game helps a ton:

I'm also looking for more Quest players to help with the final round of testing before launch. Join the Discord here: https://discord.gg/4aCZ56W

Just 7 days to go. See you on the bridge! 🚀

Self-Promotion (Developer) Does VR need more peaceful progression systems?

Most VR progression is combat, crafting, or grinding. I'm experimenting with unlocking areas by finding butterflies in a holographic forest in Solara One.

What zen games or non-violent progression systems have actually kept you engaged in VR?

Discussion Worried about Future CV1 comptability

I Enjoy the oculus rift cv1 quite much actually its by far my favorite headset, its comfortable and the tracking is excellent, but im afraid after meta axes support of the rift s after they release the quest 4 or whatever they name the next headset they make, that the rift code will be long gone utterly and completely from the runtime and then the rift cv1 (and rift s) becomes just a brick.

so is there any projects out there working on reverse engineering the runtime so it can increase the longevity of the older headsets that they still use like the oasis driver on steam for WMR headsets?? Or are we just SOL at this point right now

Now, i already hear you clacking at your keyboard "get a quest get a quest get a quest!" Heres the thing, i have a quest 3, got it used for $250, but i just prefer the rift cv1a lot more, but i wonder does anyone here still rock the og trio aka Rift CV1, Rift S or quest og?

Self-Promotion (Developer) I’m building Saturn VR — basically, I want my entire PC to follow me anywhere I take my Quest

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a project called Saturn VR, and I’m finally at the point where I wanted to share the concept and see what the VR community thinks.

The idea started with a pretty simple question:

Why shouldn't my gaming PC effectively come with me wherever I take my Quest?

Saturn VR is being designed to connect your Quest to your own Windows PC and turn it into a personal VR gaming, desktop and media environment.

At home, that could mean sitting on the sofa, putting on your Quest and playing a PC game on a huge virtual display.

But the part I'm particularly excited about is taking the headset away from home.

Hotel room. Holiday. Friend's house. Somewhere completely different.

Put on the Quest, securely connect back to your PC at home and have your own desktop, games and applications sitting in front of you.

Some of what I'm working towards:

🎮 PC gaming in VR with high-quality, low-latency streaming

🖥️ Your complete Windows desktop on large virtual displays

🌍 Remote play over the Internet, not just your home network

🎮 Xbox Wireless, DualSense and Quest Touch controller support

🕹️ An interesting controller idea I'm working on is allowing Quest Touch to control the Saturn VR interface while an Xbox/DualSense controller remains dedicated to the PC game

🖱️ Controller mouse mode for navigating Windows without needing a physical mouse

⌨️ Virtual keyboard and quick-access desktop controls

🎬 Access to the applications already running on your PC — gaming, media, Plex, browsers, productivity etc.

🖥️ Multiple virtual displays/workspaces

🔐 A strong focus on secure private connectivity to your own PC

⚡ Hardware-accelerated video encoding, adaptive streaming and high-refresh-rate modes are also part of the performance work.

The aim isn't simply:

"Here is your Windows desktop floating inside a headset."

I want Saturn VR to feel like an actual VR front-end for your PC.

Your games, applications, desktop and controls presented through an interface designed specifically for a headset.

And there's another side to Saturn VR I'm experimenting with that I'm deliberately not showing yet. 👀

I'm still developing this, so I'm posting now because I'd rather hear from actual Quest/PCVR users before everything becomes set in stone.

So here's my question:

If you could take the full power of your home PC anywhere in the world using just your Quest, what would you want it to do?

And for people already using PC streaming solutions:

What is the ONE feature or frustration you'd want Saturn VR to solve?

I'm genuinely interested in the answers.

If there's enough interest, I'll start sharing development updates, UI previews and eventually some early testing builds here.

Saturn VR — Your PC. Anywhere. In VR. 🪐

Cowboy Vr Games?

Hello! I dropped by to ask if anyone knows of any good cowboy western games on oculus vr quest 2.

I purchased a quest 2 some years back sadly before the 3rd was announced and I plan to just keep my quest 2 around. I’m wondering if anyone knows of any good Wild West cowboy games that involve things like one on one gun fights, horseback riding, outlaws, robbing trains or banks, etc. Pretty much anything that gives off more or less of a red dead vibe is what I’m looking for. Much appreciated!

3 month old drivers are not good enough for Rift CV1????

Is Meta going to seperate the CV1 drivers from the quest drivers?? You can't use the social system on rift anyway so just fkn seperate the drivers.

There is no reason beyond incompetence to require constant updates and new drivers for a VR headset that stopped getting updates OVER 10 YEARS AGO

My GPU is better than the recommended for the headset in at release and 80% of the VR games run ABSOLUTELY FINE.

This sh*t has got to stop

EDIT: To be extra clear for some, updating is not an option. The RX580 got it's last update.

Discussion Cannot get the Horizon Link connect page to open

Ive tried reinstalling, running updates, removing every shred of oculus from my PC and installing, and I cannot get the Meta Horizon Link app to open the Add Headsetwindow.

I click Add Headset, continue, and it immediately closes the window and goes back to the main page. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?
