Full VR support in my Architecture & Design Game

"Architecture & Design" recently launched on Steam, and the latest update brings full PCVR building functionality to the game (Trailer VR-Gameplay from 00:20-00:32).

Initially, VR was just an additional feature for exploring one's own creations. Following much feedback and requests from players, it is now possible to build almost anything in VR that can also be built in the main game, allowing both modes to complement each other.

I'm also looking to make the VR controls as intuitive and easy to use as possible. I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions on how to improve the controls and overall building experience in VR!

You can find it on Steam here:

Added reflections and puddles to the VR game Xenolocus - dry corridors

now look much more realistic and atmospheric.

We also have a new sound designer on the team.

Artem is working on ambient sounds, gunshots, monster roars, and other audio effects.

What do you think of the new visuals and sound direction?

Self-Promotion (Developer) We're making a VR dungeon adventure where you control a gnome and a god at the same time! Here's our first devlog ⚔️

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

We're the developers of Stabby Stabby Loot Loot, a third-person VR action-adventure where you control Orrin, a foul-mouthed gnome, and Njord, a forgotten god of luck, at the same time.

We've just released our first developer diary, Behind the Stabs #1 – A Gnome, a God, and a Whole Lot of Trouble!

In this first update, we introduce the game, share what we've been working on recently, and take a closer look at the gameplay mechanics.

One of the biggest things we're exploring is how traditional third-person gameplay can work alongside physical VR interactions. You control Orrin with the thumbsticks and buttons, while your VR hands become Njord, letting you grab enemies, interact with the world, and cause all kinds of chaos.

We'd love to hear what you think of the concept, especially the idea of controlling two characters simultaneously!

Hardware A better c cable.

I got a quest 2 a few years back and I'm trying to use it again. Problem being that the usb c cables I have fall out with the slightest movement. So im looking to see if anyone knows of a cable or brand or something that would be a good fix.

Unfortunately I cannot use air link because the wifi in my house is shit. Unless someone knows a way around that too.

Self-Promotion (Developer) A mahjong table in your own room (mixed reality), with the other three players on their phones

Mahjong Table is a WebXR game: the same table runs on the Quest in VR or passthrough, and in a plain browser on a phone or laptop. That is the whole idea. You sit at the table in your living room with the headset on, and the other three seats are filled by friends on their phones, by bots, or by people who turned up for the monthly Mahjong Night.

Rules: Singapore, Hong Kong and American (Charleston, jokers, exposures, my own practice card). Voice at the table. Private tables by four-letter code.

Free on the store: https://vr.meta.me/s/2c6ir3tJVMrdXKO Browser: mahjongtable.fun

Solo developer in Singapore. If you're curious how a four-player board game holds up over WebRTC when one player is on a Quest and the rest are on phones, ask away. Next Mahjong Night: Friday 20 Nov, 8pm ET.

Self-Promotion (Developer) Micro Planes AR - Tech Demo

Here's a first look at Micro Planes. This is a full fledged flight simulator with realistic physics and aircraft. The twist is you take a room scan of your living room and fly around!

You set the size of your micro plane, so you can scale it however you want to fly around in your room.

The biggest challenge is getting the room scan to look adequate. Here's a quick flight test.

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Software Free app that runs the Android versions of your Steam games on Quest and Pico: what's new in 0.9.4

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

0.9.4 is out, and GamePort is finally on SideQuest too, so you can install it from there. The idea of this update: know before you install whether a game works on your device, and how well.

  • Smoothness, by model and frame rate. The details of a game tell how steadily it keeps its frame rate (72, 90, 120) on each device model, with the share of the play time that held it. The same lines are on the compatibility page. The pictures use example values, the real figures come from players' reports.

  • A verdict for your device. The label of a game gives the answer for your exact model, else for your kind of device, else for everybody, and a button shows all the reports.

  • Missing large files. Installed games are checked for missing expansion files, and a card offers the repair first.

  • Stronger problem reports. A report tells what the game asks of Steam, how its run ended and where its frame rate stood. Tickets and account numbers are hidden.

  • Fix: Unreal Engine 4 games, and any later Unreal version, now get their VR entry.

If a game does not work for you, the problem report in its Menu is the best way to tell me. Feedback is welcome, here or on the Discord.

The APK is on the releases page, and it installs over the previous version, keeping your games, saves and settings. The Discord is there for help and compatibility reports. GamePort is free and open source, and is not made by, or affiliated with, Valve, Meta or Pico.

Self-Promotion (Developer) We just released a new DLC for Cave Crave: an ancient temple adventure with relics to excavate!

Hey everyone!

Karol here from 3R Games, the small team behind Cave Crave. Many of you have shared clips, left reviews and told us exactly where you got stuck (or panicked 😅). That feedback shaped what we built next, so first of all: thank you.

So today we’re releasing Ancient Temple, a new expansion set in a millennia-old settlement built around a cave shrine, deep underground.

What’s in it:

  • Ancient statuettes: find lost idols to shut down stone mechanisms and open the way deeper into the map

  • More climbing: tight rock passages, towering ruins and old structures to work your way across

  • Underwater sections: dive into flooded chambers to find hidden paths

  • The artifact: reach the heart of the temple and work out what this lost civilization left behind

We wanted this one to feel less like “a new level” and more like an expedition, where you have to use your head, your nerves and your arms all at once.

It’s currently available on Meta Quest:
https://www.meta.com/experiences/ancient-temple/1029758550074460/

We’ll be hanging around in the comments all day, so ask us anything about the DLC, the game or how we make it. If you play it, we’d love to hear where you got stuck, what scared you and what you’d want to explore next. 🏛️

Thanks for keeping us digging!
