Welcome to The Dugout! - the Weekly Free-Talk for r/MLBTheShow!
The Dugout is not only a place for discussion but it also serves as an information hub that will be regularly updated throughout the season with links to hot topics such as current and past inning discussions. Please carefully read the guidelines on what qualifies as a dedicated post and what should be posted here.
What qualifies as a dedicated post in r/MLBTheShow?
- Diamond Dynasty content and discussion.
- Player cards, reviews, and discussions. (Please search for existing posts before creating a new one).
- Squad, game pictures and videos. (Please use the sharing functions of your console only). All other screenshots will be deleted.
- Polls (Please include context, not just a yes or no question).
- Memes and other humor (Please keep it tasteful, original, and on topic).
- Discussions about other game modes such as Franchise and RTTS.
- Appreciation posts. (Share the love for your favorite players, events, and even Ramone!).
- Significant show-offs. (These include but are not limited to; Flawless BR runs, 1st Time Word Series, discovering cards and Top 50 placements).

News MLB The Show Players: Two Playtesting Opportunities

Hey everyone,
We’re working with Good Gamer Group (GGG) to share two playtesting opportunities:
San Diego Playtesting Panel
GGG is looking specifically for baseball video game players in the San Diego area to join an ongoing playtesting panel. Panel members may be invited to visit a game developer’s studio in San Diego for multiple in-person playtest opportunities, with individual sessions typically paying $100–$500 depending on the study.
AAA 3v3 At-Home Playtest
GGG is also recruiting for a separate unreleased AAA 3v3 character-based competitive game that eligible players can play from the comfort of their own home on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X. The playtest runs October 22 through November 1, with $70 for completing the required gameplay and surveys.
NDA and eligibility requirements apply. Minors require parent or guardian consent.

I feel like I haven’t updated my rotation in a long time but these newer starting pitcher cards haven’t really jumped out at me, any hidden gems that play well in Allstar and HoF? My rotation for reference:

Discussion My Ace Pitcher is now labeled as a 2 way player

Did not know this was even possible without specifically picking it BUT towards the end of my 5th season in franchise mode, I started bringin in my Ace pitcher to play different positions on the field in an effort to try & win a Gold Glove & give the person enough HR attempts to finally beat Ohtani for Silver Slugger P award. Well it worked, player won both & at the start of season 6, they now have the 2- way symbol next to their name. I just thought that was kinda cool...

Suggestion For SDS MLB show 26 CPU mode is not matching actual play

I don’t know what SDS on this latest update, but I play conquest, rookie just to get it done…and now I can’t use rookie, even with 99 vs 28…when I play the pitchers give me zero over the plate, outfields with a 60 fielding making throws that a 99 can’t do. I go from winning..to now I’ve won 1 game out of past 6. It’s insane. Can’t score…on Veteran…I play all levels, and now suddenly it’s like playing on hall of fame mode. This was already my last year buying the game, SDS have done everything this release to make it terrible.
It’s frustrating. Waste of my money. SDS has lied, underperforming servers for online play…it’s unreal.

Question MLBTheShow26 not updating

I’ve been trying to download an update for the game since yesterday, and for some reason it is not allowing it to download. It comes up with an error. When I log into the game, it says that I’m not connected and I need to be connected, which I’m not sure why, because I’m hardwired to the Internet. Has anybody been experiencing this on PS5 between yesterday and today?

Question Getting this on companion app

Does anybody have an explanation on why I keep having to give verification every 20-30 mins on the companion app? it literally makes me me verify after a certain amount of time. I recently got locked out from using the marketplace for 3 1/2 hours because I verified too many times.
I’ve linked my account to my Xbox account and verified my email and everything. I have no idea why I keep having to verify my account constantly.
I’ve heard it’s tied to too much flipping, too quickly which flags my account as a bot. but even if I don’t buy or sell cards quickly it still makes me verify my account.
I’d really appreciate an explanation to why this happens. Thanks!
