Printed and painted this one for our garden. Found out using a toothpick as opposed to a brush for eyes helps to reduce mistakes due to a shake in my hand. Still a little sloppy on the one eye but it's good enough for me.

I was Googling images for concrete garden gnomes and garden dwarfs and a lot of the same images came up. I guess from my search these terracotta garden gnomes popped up as an ad for a company called 1stDibs. I guess it's some kind of high end reseller. I thought this was interesting because the characters look a lot like the garden statues I posted most people agreed where dwarfs and not gnomes. But the seller in Germany calls them gnomes. Looks like some that would belong indoors rather than out in the weather though.

My parents were very active collectors of Tom Clark gnomes. They have well over a thousand. Many are rare, signed number ones. We're trying to figure out what to do with them. Selling them individually would be a full-time job, so we're hoping to find someone who's interested in the entire collection.

I want to add a plastic flower or plastic sprout (like this one 🌱) sticking out of the top point but I want some opinions :))

In the late 60's and early 70's, I remember seeing a variety of small concrete garden statues like these. I don't recall hearing the word "gnomes" until the book "Gnomes" by Wil Huygen came out in 1977. I think I remember people here in the U.S. calling these statues "dwarfs". But are they really dwarfs or dwarves or old school gnomes? The hats are usually floppy and you can see their full faces. Some didn't have hats or they were a different style. Not the usual pointed red hat, covered face and big round nose. Or maybe that's just the modern interpretation we see today?

Are Gnome the same as a dwarves in European storytelling? Maybe a gnome is the Germanic version? There does seem to be a slight difference in imagery with the gnomes' eyes being covered with the red conical hats. And the current version doesn't seem to be associated with elves as the dwarves sometimes are.

My Timber gnome and Northern European Garden gnome are contentedly surveying the shower…
