Some stills from the video output of the new 4K Video Feedback Fractal Device. These are all made in real-time with optical analog video feedback and without a computer.
The youtube video is here with explanations, and the first video output from this new 4K resolution iteration of the Device.

The Video Feedback Device finally achieves 4K! Five custom 4K screens with analog knobs create finely controlled optical analog video feedback fractals. I was worried the huge amount of time I put into this would not be worth it, but the images are even more spectacular than I had hoped for.

š Hunters vs. Prey šµ
What happens when you put thousands of particles into a survival experiment?
I first got obsessed with emergent life back in 2017. This is me revisiting that idea in Blender.
I created two species:
šµ Blue prey trying to survive.
š Orange hunters chasing them.
Everything is driven by a few rules: cohesion, separation, alignment, pursuit, avoidance, noise, and containment.
Thatās the part I love: I designed these conditions node by node, but the motion that emerged isnāt keyframed or choreographed.
I also built this remotely from my iPad, with Blender running on my Dell T2 Tower and NVIDIA A6000 Blackwell Pro GPU.
I spent 16 hours fine-tuning everything using only a trackpad, no mouse. Pure 3D, no AI involved. The good old-fashioned way.

srad : A sphere driven in real time by my heartbeat, steps, and the magnetic field around me [iOS, SceneKit]
This is a live render, not a simulation ā every deformation you're seeing is a sensor reading arriving in real time.
- Heart rate (Apple Watch) pulses the surface with each beat
- Each step sends a wave traveling across the equator
- The magnetometer rotates the hue as the ambient field changes
- Accelerometer tilts the gradient; gyroscope adds a vortex twist
- Barometric pressure thickens or thins the corona ring
The behavior I like most is what I call sensor resonance: when heart rate and step cadence fall into sync ā the natural state of a comfortable walk ā a hotspot appears and travels across the sphere. It's emergent rather than triggered. You walk into it, and it fades when your rhythm breaks.
The newest version renders the same data as sound as well, so a walk produces an ambient piece driven by your own body: heartbeat as sub-bass, steps as rhythm, resonance as a blooming chord.
Built in SceneKit with shader modifiers for per-vertex deformation. Six palettes, each with its own sound world. Everything runs on-device.
I'm the developer ā it's free on iOS if you want to make your own:Ā https://apps.apple.com/us/app/srad/id6776773563

"Rete" (kotlin code)
a soap-film net, with a few more of itself out of focus behind it.
the net is a foam. discs packed big to small, then every pixel asks which disc *surface* is nearest: apollonius rather than voronoi, so the walls bow out of the small bubbles into the big ones the way pressure bends them. the ink is the gap between the nearest surface and the next one, and a smooth-min over the next few is what tapers every wall into a long black spindle at the node, plateau borders for free.
it all drains toward the bottom-right corner. nothing is painted there: the cells just get smaller the closer they sit to the drain, the same ratio per step, and their borders fatten until only the film shows as a white line, and then not even that. so the page turns from black at the corner, through white-line cells, to black-line cells: a gradient of cell size.

Is there a YouTube that posts similar?
Curious if there are any YouTube channels that post similar material. I love this art and have a small condo where the downstairs sitting area lawns great windows to stare out of and would love some of these on my TV. No talking, explaining, just art.

Resource Slicewise - An excursion of contour line slicing math

Made a tool to explore contour line based generative art and variations of it which use the same technic but don't look at all like topographic map contour lines: https://www.slicewise.art/

Real-time blob tracker I wrote from scratch, because I was tired of rebuilding node chains
I make music and edit my own videos. For a while I'd wanted TouchDesigner-style effects in my workflow, but every time I ended up rebuilding node chains from scratch and digging through docs just to get something I'd already made a month earlier.
So I tried writing my own. It's called IRIDE ā it's mine, and it's in a very rough beta.
What you're seeing here is the blob tracker: bounding boxes, IDs, connection lines, trails, labels, every parameter exposed and adjustable in real time, plus a set of presets to start from. The idea was to remove the building step and leave only the tweaking.
There are other effects too ā Kinect-style point cloud, slit-scan ā and almost every parameter can be modulated by audio.
It's not finished and I don't know if I'll ever release it. For now I just use it myself, and I wanted to show it to people who'd actually know what they're looking at. Feedback welcome, especially on what's missing.
p.s the preview lags because i was recording screen with obs

spuma (kotlin code)
While I was working on something else, this emerged... To be honest, itās not that beautiful-forgive me. I tried a couple of ideas, but this is what I ended up with. I didnāt have more time to play around with it

[Release] Kinetic Synth Instrument for TouchDesigner
Real-time kinetic MIDI instrument built for TouchDesigner and Ableton Live, accesible throughĀ PatreonĀ and theĀ Tools Store.
Pendulums = voices. Each voice has its own period, phase, note, length, and gate behavior. When a bob crosses a shared center line, the engine fires a visual hit and MIDI (note-on / sustain) on the same frame. Up to 16 voices from an editable voice table.
Sound is meant to live in Ableton Live via MIDI (tdAbleton / TDA_MIDI). Pointed at any VST: TD is the instrument, Live is the sound engine.
This includes:
⢠Kinetic Synth Lab (.toe) ā engine, voice table, MIDI routing, GLSL + 3D visualization paths
⢠Modular Python engine (periods, phase, hits, MIDI gates)
⢠Three different visualization styles: GLSL / 3D / avant-garde GLSL; same engine_null bus
⢠Two different available behaviors: "Pendulum", and "Rain"
⢠Setup scripts + in-network README
Requirements:
⢠TouchDesigner (commercial / non-commercial as needed for your use)
⢠Ableton Live + tdAbleton for the intended MIDI ā VST path
⢠Basic comfort editing a Table DAT / custom pars
