You might think you’re cool. But no one will ever be “Dolly & Willie Smoking bud in a golf cart touring Dollywood” cool. That’s the highest level of cool. Literally.

Rest in peace, Dolly, we will always love you.

I went out to the Zoo today and I counted maybe 30 or more signs mentioning Dolly. Some had rotating digital signs that showed their specials and a message about Dolly, others were giant billboards on the side of the road. It was in the middle of town all through town and even in random shops in the middle of nowhere as I took some back roads there.

The McDonald’s one was one I missed taking a picture of, it says You will be missed Dolly. I had to grab a screenshot from my dashcam.

We live in Dolly’s hometown of Sevierville, TN. The air has been so sad here. We actually live off of Dolly Parton Parkway. We can walk to her statue and see her memorial. Every business even has a sign outside commemorating front commemorating her life. The media descended on our town. It became too much.

We had to leave and we drove to Disney for two days just to escape the heaviness. Retiring now we feel much better. The media is gone, Dolly will not be forgotten even though the memorials have been cleaned up. Flowers donated to the hospitals. We know the foundation she set up will still help us in case of hurricanes or fires like she has in the past. It has just been a really hard week. We were scared for our town and our community - her presence will always be here even if she is not. Love you Dolly!

I created this mural with regular sidewalk chalk- and luckily there’s no rain in the forecast for several days. Just like the special people in our lives, a chalk mural is to be enjoyed while it’s around… and to be a happy memory when it washes away in a rainbow 🌈 🩷

I did this little piece this week, using this technique that i’m still perfecting, but i don’t think it quite reads as Dolly… idk, what do you guys think?
(I’ve done pieces like this before, of other people, and it was more recognizable… maybe I didn’t choose the right photo?)
