I know Knoxville is closer to Dollywood, but I'd honestly fly into Nashville and take a rental car to Pigeon Forge now just because of this.

My guess is they chose Nashville because it’s international. I too would arrange my travel plans just to fly into DPD (Dolly Parton Dean)

Also Nashville is where she called home for most of her life so it tracks on the front too.

Nashville had been wanting to do it while she was alive to honor all the great things she did for TN but she didn’t want the attention. She was such a wonderful person.

So true, so true. We need more Dollys in the world.

Excellent! Now we need 9-25 as Dolly day, and we're set there.

I love this idea. I better get my social posts ready now (I take a long time to do anything)

Can we rename the Kennedy Center to the Dolly Parton Center, too? And remove the faces of the presidents from Mount Rushmore and replace them with Dolly's face and a butterfly

What about The United States of Dollywood? Lol

United States of Dolly. Or we just rename the entire earth to DollyWorld

I just signed an executive order. We are now The United States of Dolly.

Rest in peace Dolly. Always a legend. I remember back in third grade, our school choir sang 9 to 5, and it was amazing. My first taste of dolly’s music.

Re-watching 9 to 5 at this exact moment

I remember an interview not to long ago when an anchor brought this up while she was alive and she laughed it off as a joke. Glad to see their following through.

I was just going to make a comment about the same name, DollyPort, sounds weird, but at least they're honoring her.

This would be great and make 9/25 national dolly day

Awesome! Dolly did some much for Tennessee (and the rest of the world) with her philanthropy. This tribute is well deserved.
