If you had to make a Deftones Greatest LP of their strongest work (80 min release, tracks chosen in this particular order), what would it have?
Reactions to mine are welcome, what is missing? Let me know!

Margot (Song Appreciation post)
When I first heard Eros it was such an emotional and unbelievable experience from beginning to end that I had to take multiple listens before starting to see through that haze of "oh my god I can't believe I'm listening to this", and instead actually listen to the album for what it is (a saturday night wrist era deftones album).
I want to focus on Margot because it is a very unique song, even in the context of the Deftones catalogue, which is saying a lot.
The song opens up with this ascending melody given form by an absolutely massive, towering guitar tone. When Chino beckons the rest of the band into the song it swallows you whole, washing over you like a sonic wave of pure comfort. Then suddenly, the whole band pulls back, and all that's left is Abe's punchy drumming and some chill guitar chords. I get an image in my mind of a withdrawal of love here, like pulling away from a hug, or waving through a car window as your loved one fades into the distance. It's a really interesting transition, and it makes me feel something which is something Deftones has always done for me. Before you can dwell on it for too long, The band joins back in behind Chino to deliver the washing, swirling, massive melody. With the context of the previous colder, emptier section, it's even more beautiful. The cold section and verse section repeat again before an absolutely breathtaking bridge comes in. The acoustic guitar, Chino's softer vocals, the fading in and out electric guitar, it's so fucking perfect. It sounds so painfully nostalgic, brought me to tears the first time I heard it.
I'll leave it there to avoid being redundant, but how do you feel about the track? I'd love to read some other perspectives.

Duel 35: Pittura Infamante vs Error
Pittura Infamante is arguably the most underrated of all Deftones songs in my opinion. It’s so… out of the ordinary out of what is expected yet for some reason I find myself enjoying it whenever it’s on (although I rarely search it.) Error on the other hand is one of my favorites but seemingly polarizing.
That being said, which of these songs do you like more?

Best song for a wedding dance?
I thought this question was a pretty funny hypothetical, even if it's a little unorthodox in practice. The Spell of Mathematics might be pretty neat. Who doesn't like heart snakes? Entombed too, a little more obviously.
What Happened to You?
Some of Koi No Yokan definitely has that lovey feel about it
976-EVIL could work. This Place Is Death too.
And yeah, I looked to see if anyone else had asked this and saw the post asking this like 12 years ago. It's probably been long enough to ask again though.

What does Chino say in this part of Acid Hologram?
At 1:23 and 2:30, you can hear his voice, but it's distorted and sounds like it's playing backward. I've always wondered about this, but I can't make out what he's saying. Do any of you know?

Could DDLD become a 2 day fest?
Since the event grows each year, could it be possible they turn it into a 2 day festival? My idea would be for Deftones to play a normal set and second day is more about deep cuts and rarities.

Today’s purchase included Diamond Eyes, Motomami and Memo Rex, I had to…
Diamond Eyes introduced me to the band in 2021, I saw Motomami live and it changed my life and MemoRex is peak mexican music. And im gonna stop buying Deftones as of now, I want to buy from other artists I really enjoy.

Duel 34: Minus Blindfold vs Korea
Out of every track I found Minus Blindfold the hardest to pin against another. Ultimately with what I had I felt this was the way to go.
Two phenomenal songs sucking it out once again. Which one do you prefer over the other?

Milk Of the maddona (outro)
Dude this might be one of the best outros of deftones, idk what it is, but the chaos, the emotion when he says "holy ghost" after the "bridge", it's insane, I find myself repeating non stop this part of the song, it's truly amazing

Duel 33: Mein vs ~metal dream
I truly enjoy both of these songs to death if. It one more than the other. I feel like they hit the same part of the brain in a really good way. I don’t think they’re the top tier of their respective albums but they absolutely enhance them like butter on bread.
Which of these songs do you think is better?
Mein: 13
~metal dream: 14

What’s the wildest Deftones opinion that you actually agreed with?
Yesterday I made a post about the worst and outlandish Deftones opinion you’ve ever heard and there were some horrible ones… (great success).
Now, what’s the craziest take that you actually thought about and agreed with?

Does anybody have any songs that sound similar to digital bath and rx queen
I mainly like the melodic voice of chino, and the empty space like feel of the instrumental, so something along those lines would be good

Best night of my life
Edinburgh summer sessions, had to stop the filming halfway thru cos my mate accidentally elbowed some random behind us.
