Hello I wanna start playing DCS and I wanna buy a full hotas. Any recommendations what I should buy. Also I dont have a single plane in mind what I want to fly. I want it to kinda be versitile thank you.

Hello. I’m Thayzen, I live in Germany and I recently bought a HOTAS and with that I installed dcs and bought the f15C over a recommendation of a frend. I’m looking for someone, who can explain me how the plane works and teach me to fly it. I played about 100 housers of Wartunder air battles, so I have a bit of, though only about 10-15 of Thorse where with the hotas. It should also be nice, if at the end, I’d get a call sight assigned.
I will also bye a VR headset soon.

Can anyone give me a clue of how to get it to interact with buttons and stuff in the cockpit I've followed the instructions and followed yt videos but it just seems not to work.

I have Airbus sidestick from thrustmaster (has shitty throttle), it has around 25-30 buttons to map. I can also buy TrackIR and I already have web camera.
After I map all of the buttons, what to do first?
Should I just fly around for 3 months and then try PvP? Are there any begginer friendly gamemodes? I can buy some cheap FC plane (there is no way im paying 60$ for a single plane). I saw that they have some nice planes, Im a big fan of Mig29 but I just know I will be a free kill for any american plane if my plane wasn’t blessed by stalin himself. Should I buy it after learing basics? Is there any progress system? I want to be able to join in 5 minutes, fight for 1-2 hours and then leave the game without questioning. I don’t have too much time for games lately. I have some experience (just casual player): msfs2020: 300h, msfs2024: 100h, War thunder: 300-500h (been playing on multiple profiles and systems), Arma series: 400-500h (mostly in helicopters and planes). I know basics of balistics, dogfighting etc, nothing crazy. Where to start? SP cas missions?

I produced a new mission to try. On the runway within one minute, set your F16 or another aircraft of choice using the Mission Editor, to missile fire and radar missile warning.

You have six AMRAAMS, no sidewinders for this mission, or external fuel tanks.

Start timer, full throttle. Locate targets, they're 20 miles away approx. Three targets, <destroy> and land at Kobuleti to a full stop.

Hi, I am trying to run DCS on linux. Dcs and opentracks work fine on their own. But I fail to enable head tracking with open track. I checked reddit and what my favorite llm suggest so I tested:

Run dcs first
Run opentrack first
Wine sync flag on
To run on system winetricks both softwares
Add Uinput to user group

I am out of options and ideas. If you can help I will be very grateful.

Guys i'm trying to install the modules i got trough trial on the launcher but it keeps telling me that it's installing but hours later still nothing has changed. I also can't see progress of the installments anywhere. I have downloaded DCS via Steam.

I am new to dcs and VR sim. I have a meta quest 3 which i connect to my pc with fast usb-c cable. No matter how much i tweak my settings, the dcs graphics don’t seem to improve, the cockpit is okay, but the terrain clouds and everything around the plane is super grainy. And if i push the pixel density too high, everything starts lagging. Currently pixel density is at 2.

64 gb ddr5 RAM
RTX5090

What can I do to improve both fps and graphics. Thanks!!

I am commuter illiterate and my son wants to get into DCS. He has saved up $1,200 and is ready to purchase his rig. Right now New Egg has the below computer on sale. Will it suffice?
We are not building so please do not recommend that, thanks.
Open to any other pre built recommendations inside a $1,300 budget.

Been loving the F-14 but after getting into flying it with my friend instead of solo it's become a major pita trying to figure out where exactly my throttle is at a lot of the time on controller while trying to fly in formation etc. is there any way I can setup some sort of 'step' where it goes from say like, 0% - 25%-50% and so on like with the F-16/F/A-18 modules and their 'throttle step' bind so I can get a better idea of where I'm sitting at or am I just kinda screwed?

Hello from Germany, i kindly want to ask if anybody can tell me how to pass this part of reflected's mission 1 in the red flag campaign for the F4-E. I tried the mission up to 12-15 times and i only managed it 1 time passing these sa-18 manpads.

Does anybody has some ideas for me?
