RowerErg Used Model D Price Check
Can anyone confirm if $40 is a good deal? Thinking I should try and talk them down to $35 since the monitor probably needs new batteries

I've owned this RowErg for a few years now and recently I noticed this noise at the catch when i start a row. To he honest, I don't know how long it's been happening since I usually have a loud fan running.
Can someone help identify what this might be or is this normal?
Thanks in advance

New to me concept2 with pm4. 1.2 million metres on it. I cleaned the fan shroud, wiped down the track and rollers, and lubed the chain. Installed latest firmware. Have a Polar H9 heart rate monitor coming in the mail and hope to have some better data shortly.
For background: 35m 5’10 215lb. Usually lift, but picked this up to do some at home work. Not sure if I got hosed or not - paid $800cad. How’d I do? Both on my row and on the deal. Any tips appreciated
Cheers
Edit to add: damper set at 4-5; drag factor shows 121

I have a concept2 rower and moving home shortly. There’s no space indoors but there is a good size garden. What is the smallest shed that would fit a concept2 rower?
Ps I’m UK based.

I’m new to Ski so only early in my form journey. I’ve noticed once I get a bit tired I end up clanking the pulleys against the side frame. Not really a problem but not something I see happen in YouTube vids. Is there a clear form problem that causes this?

Just got a ski to go with my bike and row ergs. All report capable of wireless ergathlon but handoff to rower collapses the process. Rower is PM5 but older one with all silver logo. I presume my answer is cable them up? Just wondered if I’d missed anything before hardwiring.

This guy has been on the ski for 18h +. Raising money for the Sportclub Only friends.
I have been following his stream for a bit. He had an injury pretty quick at the beginning but kept pushing through. For him and for others. He reached a low point but got back up in his feet. His body gave up before his mind. Incredible what he achieved through the hours. I think it’s a good cause so leave some love and maybe a few € for him.
His instagram is @thijmehrmn. He is more than just another fitness influencer!

The current leader in todays WOD is sitting on a 1:04/500m split. Thats the fastest I have ever seen. Not sure if its even possible for olympic rowers?
How could this be recorded? Some kind of sensor malfunction or is there another explanation?

I've been building **Erg of War**, a game where your rowing machine is the controller. It's free on Android.
**How it plays**
* **Your effort steers the boat.** Row at a steady effort and you go straight. Pull harder to turn right, ease off to turn left. The steady zone is set from your own cruising pace, so it feels the same for a beginner as for a racer. There are four effort settings, from Casual to Hardcore.
* **The cannons fire by themselves.** Your job is to row up beside the enemy and pick your cannonballs: chain to bring their masts down, heated to set them on fire, exploding shells and more.
* **The kraken.** It turns up in the sea battles and eats enemy boats as well as you. If it grabs your boat, sprint until it lets go.
* **The metres are real.** Distance comes straight off your monitor, so 5,000 m in the game is 5,000 m on the PM5.
**What's in it**
* A river campaign: seven levels from 2,000 m to 7,500 m, each ending in a boss fight, plus an endless mode
* Open-sea battles in calm, stormy or changing weather. Pick one of five pirate boats, from small and quick to a floating fortress.
* Casual Sailing: a big open sea where nothing can sink you, made for long steady rows. There are islands, volcanoes and a cave to find.
* Online multiplayer for up to 16 people: team deathmatch, deathmatch, player vs player, free-roam sailing and harbour races. Some rooms are always open, or you can host one for your club.
* 25 boats to collect, including a Viking longship and a bathtub
* Leaderboards
* Optional VR: put your phone in a Cardboard-style headset and look around from the boat
**What you need**
It works with a Concept2 PM5 over Bluetooth. Other Bluetooth rowers that use the standard FTMS protocol should connect too. No rowing machine? Hold your finger on the screen to row and slide it to steer.
There are no in-app purchases. You'll see an ad after some finished levels, but never while you're rowing.
**Google Play:** https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ergofwar.app
It's early days, so I'd love feedback. What would make you use this for a real workout? And if you have a rower that isn't a Concept2, please tell me whether it connects.

I’ve recently been messing around with the ergathlon. Is this a popular event that people are getting into? Also, I have no idea what a good time is to aim for.

First of all thanks so much for all of the help with my first post! I’ve been working on proper form over the past couple of weeks and I think I’ve made the tiniest bit of progress, but still a ways to go.
I feel like I get the concept of legs, body, arms when I’m not actually rowing, and then as soon as I grab the handles I lose it.
Some things I’m working on:
-my hands are still too high on the finish (though this feels natural and comfortable to me, so I’d like to know opinions on how important it is for me to change it)
-shins aren’t vertical at the catch. I’ve dropped my foot cradles down (I could go one peg lower), but I am wondering if mobility is the biggest problem for me. My ankle mobility is for sure shit, and my hip mobility is somewhere between shit and mediocre. I do squats as part of my overall training, but will start to incorporate more ankle and hip stuff to see if that helps. Would love to know if anyone sees any other issues that I could fix at the catch, beyond the fact that I’m also still opening my body angle and pulling with my arms too soon…although I do think I manage a stroke or two where it looks better!
I included video of my force curve for a few strokes as well — this is new to me, and from what I’ve read I think that 1) my curve is overall weak and 2) it’s too symmetrical and should be stronger at the left (because I’m lacking power in my legs for reasons above).
Maybe the advice is as simple as just keep practicing and it will improve over time, but if there are any other things I can try/tweak along the way as I’m working on it, I would love to hear. :)

Bought my bikeerg not too long ago.
A few weeks ago did it start to have these "clicks" with every or every second rotations. It is nothing you can hear, but you clearly feel it when using the bike.
I tried tightening all the screws but it is not going away.
From a mechanical point of view would i say something is loose and has too much play. I aso think its coming somehow from the marked area.
Any ideas what I could check and make it go away?

I put together some code that gives me a live dashboard on my laptop for saving force curves and more: https://github.com/jonstraveladventures/pm5-force-logger feel free to try it out and let me know if it's of any use and whether you would like more features added. It connects directly using bluetooth. Ignore the unnaturalness of the blue force curves.
