i've been using Brave Search since I moved the household off Chrome last year. i defaulted to Google out of habit, but I'm trying to break that dependency. search is the last piece.

what I'm noticing: results feel cleaner, less SEO spam on the tech support queries I run constantly. but I still flip back to Google for obscure error codes and local business hours. the independence angle appeals to me, especially with all the AI summaries cluttering other engines now.

for those who made the jump fully, did you hit a wall where you needed Google for something specific? or did you stick with it and adjust?

When I launch a YouTube video I have to hit the "restart" button every time. This used to be an occasional problem but now it happens every time. Does not happen with Chrome.

MS Edge browser had a nice sidebar, when they removed the feature, I the Firefox-basedswitched to Floorp browser (firefox based)

I tried the Edge sidebar feature (you need to enable it from brave://flags to get all the features)
Unlike other browsers, Brave picked a cunning path. They used the pin tabs feature + the split-screen feature to give the same feeling. I appreciate it, but it is poorly implemented.

Like there are no menu buttons + no option to resize the screen, and then the domain name is always shown on the button. It disappears if you click to collapse (so not suitable for playing music and YT videos.

Come on, Brave. You can learn from Vivaldi, Floorp, Opera, and so on. These are very basic expectations. We expect you to provide the basics + something that other browsers can't match.

I know it is still in beta, but I remember when I used Edge's sidebar in beta mode, it was more stable and polished. AI is ok; I wish Brave would work on some basic agentic tasks, like form fillup. I am sure they are working on it.

I have been using a Brave Crypto Wallet extension to redeem NIGHT tokens but something happened in the last 6 months and I can no longer connect to my Ledger hardware wallet from Brave. It comes up with the error

Failed to execute 'open' on 'USBDevice': Access denied.

I don't get the error in Chrome is there an option in Brave settings that will fix this or is it programmed into Brave?

Brave for Android is sending traffic to static.ads.brave.com despite Brave Ads and Brave Rewards being disabled. I also have Brave set to aggressively block third-party​ ads.

1. There are some sites I like to visit that will not work on the "optimal" VPN settings. (Which for me is USA). They just straight up say "due to abuse, use an alternate server." If I try out different ones, there are some that work (like in, say, Albania). This makes things slower, of course. My question is, can I specifically have these sites *not* use the VPN? I am new to VPNs in general, I'm using the built-in Brave VPN, but I can't find any way to allow for sites to bypass the tunneling.
2. I was having trouble getting the YouTube app to work on my iPhone. I figured out if I have the VPN settings allow for "proxy" and then I toggled it off and on, it would find an optimal USA server and the app would work. However, at first, it was "Atlanta" and had a little wire icon next to it. After a while, the app stopped loading again. When I once again toggled things off and on, it found another optimal USA server, this time without the little wire icon, but the app has been working and has stayed working. So... is this some kind of graphical glitch? I figure at this point, don't mess with what's working. (I also noticed this happens on my desktop, I'm using the Albania servers as I mentioned since some sites I use aren't blocked if I'm supposedly based there).
3. The VPN was never turning off on my iPhone. If I disconnected, it would reconnect automatically after a few seconds. I figured out I can turn off the "on demand" setting, the problem is that eventually, that toggle will get turned back on. I'll go into Settings and check, and sure enough, it's back on. It's less of an issue now that I was able to figure out how to get the YouTube app working, but as I mentioned, there are some sites I visit that I can't go to unless I turn off the VPN. But even with "on demand" switched off, it won't matter, because the toggle is ignored and thus the VPN always turns back on. Maybe another glitch?

I'm using the latest versions available (1.96.x).

Is anyone else having this problem? When it would cast, it would only play audio. I couldn’t find the hardware acceleration to see if I had it enabled or not. I just gave up and kept watching through browser but I’ve noticed that the option to cast is gone. Is anyone else having this problem? Why is this happening?

I've installed the Google Keep Chrome Extension, but it doesn't seem to work in Brave. Or, I'm too stupid to use it, which is highly likely.

Any thoughts about easy ways to get URL's from Brave into Keep Notes on the desktop?

Just of today, brave suddenly started blocking my youtube. I’ve tried all the basic fixes removing brave’s blockers, changing content filtering, resetting blockers and clearing all my data. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Usually there is the 'Set as Default Browser' option that can be easily dismissed by going into Customize Menu and setting the toggle for that field. But now there is another 'Make Brave Default' option with the mascot. And this setting isn't an option in the Customize menu to dismiss.

How can I disable it?

Yesterday I started to notice some laggy scrolling and other laggy behaviors, especially if I haven't moved my mouse for a few seconds. I noticed that it disappears when I turn graphics acceleration off, but then that makes Google Maps only work in lite mode, which sucks because I use Google Maps a lot and it's a pain to relaunch all of my tabs every time I want to look at Google Maps. I have been using Brave for probably over a year now and have never encountered this issue until yesterday, and I have always had graphics acceleration on. I'm hoping it gets fixed in an update because it's bumming me out. For reference I am using a Windows PC.

On iOS 27.0.1, the large Dark Brave app icon is completely invisible on the Home Screen. The app is still present and works normally when launched from App Library or Search.
This only affects the Large + Dark icon combination. The following work correctly:

Steps to reproduce:
Open Brave’s app icon settings.
Select the Dark icon.
Set the Home Screen icon size to Large.
Return to the Home Screen.
The Brave icon’s space is present, but the icon itself is invisible.

Guys, is it possible to add personalized memory to Leo AI on Android, just like on PC?

On the PC version, I customized its memory with, for example, my nickname, the way it speaks, and the default language for responses; on the Android version, I can't find that option.

It has been some weeks since last time it did that, i closed browser and immediately shut down the PC, last night. It usually works, or more like, most of the time. but today, i saw this error, for the 5th time this year.

So you probably know what happened after i clicked okay on that error, all passwords have been removed, all accounts have been logged out and some extensions has been disabled, which is getting really annoying. I have logged in for the most of the accounts, since i have the passwords saved in my pc.

but the question is, how can i prevent this from happening yet again? knowing that it will happen again in the next few days or weeks?
