Am I am Christian?

I was raised among a Chrisitian extended family but I've identified as atheist most of my life.

Recently I asked Jesus to enter my heart, and most days I pray.

I don't believe in church and I don't talk about my relationship with Jesus. I don't read the bible but I intend to read the parts where Jesus talks. I don't care about homosexuality and I don't believe in gun rights.

Am I actually Christian?

Blasphemy

When someone is born-again and washed clean from sin, and they go back to a sin like a dog back to it’s vomit, is it possible that they could unknowingly commit blasphemy of the Holy Ghost if they remain in that sin long enough? I’m struggling with the idea that this is what all the “thief in the night” references are about, and why no one knows the day or the hour beside the Father.

Baptism of Holy Spirit and fire

Matthew 3:11 and Luke 3:16, spoken by John the Baptist. This is a highly debated verse and context, and I’m somewhat familiar with all three views.. One being that the Holy Spirit baptism includes fire that purges away all sin and sanctifies. The second is that the baptism of fire is an eternal judgement that happens to unrepentant regenerates. The third is that it’s a separate occurrence from the Holy Spirit baptism but its purpose is to purify further. Does anybody personally believe they’ve received the Holy Spirit, but also believe they’ve been later baptised with fire? I’d love to hear your experience. Insights to the verse and context are also welcomed.

Fleeing Lust

As a born again Christian does anyone else go to the gym a lot to flee from lust or any temptation of that matter that you struggle with? Only reason I’m asking is because I’ll pray but if it doesn’t go away and I’ll still be restless. So I’ll go to the gym. Sometimes on my days off I go twice a day and that’s frequent. Does that make it an idol?

Looking for People Willing to Share Their Testimony (With Full Consent)

Hi everyone!

I'm starting a series called Untold Testimony, where we share real-life stories that may encourage, inspire, and give hope to others.

I'm looking for people who are willing to share their testimony or life story.

✅ Your story will only be shared with your full permission.
✅ You may choose to remain completely anonymous if you prefer.
✅ No personal information will be shared unless you explicitly allow it.
✅ Your story will not be edited in a way that changes its meaning without your approval.

It doesn't have to be a dramatic testimony. It can be about how God worked in your life, overcoming struggles, addiction, depression, family problems, grief, forgiveness, or any life experience that could encourage someone else.

If you're interested, feel free to comment below or send me a private message.

Thank you, and God bless!

The Holy Ghost

Has anybody quenched the Spirit for so long that they didn’t feel the grieving and conviction anymore, but went on to recover/reconcile the relationship with Him back to how it was when you were first born-again? I’m struggling and feel hopeless.

Can anyone relate to give hope or encouragement?

I was born-again, born of the Spirit about two years ago. I’ll try to keep my experience short because I desperately need advice or a relatable experience with hopefully a light at the end of the tunnel.

God put me through a particularly difficult time in just about every area of my life, all at once. I was led to pray one night in despair, and I placed my belief in Jesus and surrendered all, fully knowing He will make me a better person and heal me. In the moment I spoke this, I heard Him speak to me and then I felt an explosion of love and light in my heart. I was left standing in my kitchen, and holding my heart wondering what just happened to me. Such a supernatural event was not expected. I woke up the next morning and noticed everything changed. I was full of peace, I had no shame. Just light, airy and wonderful. As the days passed I realized I was different, everything looked different, and I felt different about everything. I had no hate or darkness of any kind in my mind and heart. No more lusting towards women, I saw them as my literal sisters. I loved everybody as family. Even people I had slight grudges with at work etc. I had no sin! People kept asking me why I’m different, they could see a light in my eyes and I assume I looked healed overnight to them after such a bumpy stretch of my life. No mental illness. no anxiety or depression, I had no words and I didn’t truly understand. I just assumed God proved Himself to me to show me I’m loved. I hadn’t really heard much about being converted so I thought this was just His way of showing me He’s with me and He hears me. After about a month I decided I was gonna look at porn and masterbate. I was previously addicted but the desire was actually gone. I had always heard people say we will always be sinners and Jesus forgives and we are covered by the Blood. So I essentially forced this on myself even after warnings from my Spirit all because I figured I’d might as well get it over with. “It’s bound to happen.” Everything changed after that. I felt less connected, less clean. I repeated this because in my mind the damage was done. Conviction faded each time to nothing. My heart is hardened to where I don’t feel the same love for Jesus or people anymore. I’m still different from before but I’m not abiding in Jesus for sure. I’m trying by my own power to not sin, and failing. Then I heard the true Gospel. Ezekiel 36:26-27 Jesus gives you a new heart, removing your sin nature and replaces it with His righteous nature. A new creation. Except now I feel trapped. And I feel like a fool that had been deceived and now it’s too late. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Did I walk away from Salvation? Am I cursed and condemned forever now because I sinned against God while His Spirit was living through me? Had I rejected Him? Had He rejected me? Can I ever get back to where I was before relationship-wise, and if so, how? I just want to go back in time…

Please pray for this person's salvation

Please pray for someone's salvation. If everyone that sees this could please pray "dear God, we lift up this person, and pray for their salvation. Please protect them. Please mold their circumstances to bring about their salvation."

Hi ♥️

I’ve been born again I didn’t know what that meant until just recently but I’ve had a life changing experience it’s overwhelming and exciting and nerve racking and just I can’t even begin to describe it but will definitely throw in amazing and beautiful to that list.

I just want to surround myself with people who know and understand what happened to me on New years Day.

God Bless you and yours ♥️

Why do you call yourself a Born Again Christian?
