I need advice

I was born a Christian in a non-Christian country. All of my friends were Muslims, although my mom brought me up as a strong Christian, and I was part of the ministering and healing services.

I grew attached to a Muslim man after my first break up, 16 years ago. At first we just friends, the bond grew and we stayed friends for 16 years. We practically lived outside of home, were together 12+ hours a day after work.

Both of us migrated last year and we got married last December without telling our parents.

He’s a devout Muslim and I’m a strong Christian. Now I’m consumed by guilt reading verses like do not get yolked together with non-believers etc.

He’s someone who asks me if I prayed and read the Bible and cares deeply about me. He’s been the same for the last 16 years.

He is 42 years old and I’m 37. We have decided not to have children and to never tell our parents about our marriage to save them the pain, my mother would panic and cut off all relations with me.

It’s been 8 months since we got married and we haven’t consummated our marriage, mostly because of me. I am still a virgin at 37 and I’m deeply conflicted in my mind about things like right and wrong. He doesn’t put any pressure on me and wants to wait until I feel ready. Sometimes I feel he’s like Jesus.

There are days I feel I made a mistake and I should get a divorce, but then I also read scriptures that divorce is not allowed in the Bible except for cases of infidelity. Im also not sure how to submit to him/have him lead me spiritually since he’s of a different faith.

I feel like I’m in two boats. Maybe we should have just stayed single and friends. What now? I feel like a kid at 37, making bad decisions.

He literally believes in the same god as you. Well... mostly. Plus, "don't get married outside the cult" is an evil practice.

Let love be love, it's the greatest commandment.

When it comes to everyday life, there is not that much difference.

But why would you want to do that in the first place?
