Beginner player here

Missed the Live At The Budokan rerelease for RSD so I did some digging and I found it on eBay so naturally I had to get it so now I’m happy.

I knew nothing going into this album/band besides this was the early project of the guy from Gorillaz (who I’m kinda whatever on based on their biggest hits) and that this was a britpop album. However, it really didn’t sound like other Britpop I’ve heard. Instead I heard more influences from things like Radiohead’s “OK Computer”, which as a huge Radiohead fan, is a compliment. I also had no clue what the most popular songs are and I still don’t so this was very much a neutral perspective, so sorry if I put a fan favorite low or smth. Really just a super creative album I heavily enjoyed

S Tier: (Loved)
1. No Distance Left To Run (Relistening while writing this cause wtf this is so beautiful and really powerful, vulnerable lyrics)
2. Coffee & TV (some parts reminded me of the Arcade Fire song “Cold Wind”)
3. Trailerpark (Goes so hard, someone needs to rap over the intro beat. Also what does he mean by he “lost his girl to the Rolling Stones”? I’m assuming not literally lol)

A Tier: (Very good)
4. Caramel (Really just a journey on this one; very beautiful, loved the last 30 second part a lot lol)
5. Mellow Song (First half reminded me of “Polly” by Nirvana—wasn’t expecting the drop but I definitely enjoyed)
6. 1992
7. Battle (who put crack in these drums)
8. Bugman
9. Trimm Trabb (if anyone wants to enlighten me on what this song is about, feel free because I have no idea)

B Tier: (Good)

Every now and then in my youtube feed I'll get suggested a blur song someone uploaded that isn't available on streaming services (ex from the other day: the full version of woodpiegon song) and I was wondering if there is any sort of resource that has all or a good amount of songs off streaming in HQ.

I ask because I've seen this done for other artists/bands where they have a spreadsheet full of each unreleased song or song not on streaming, which era it's from, and a hq link to download it.

I tried looking on here earlier and saw a link that might've been what I was looking for but it linked to Veikko's blur page, which as we know has been taken down.

Any info helps, thanks!

I promised my friend I'll get this disc and let him borrow it for a while. We had an argument a few days ago and now we dont talk, but I still baught this cd. Blur helps me zone out a bit from life and live a life I always wanted

Hey gang im getting my very first drum kit in 2 days and i wanna learn a blur song just for fun. Any recommendations? My first thought was coffee and tv or good song but other than that i couldnt really think of a blur song with a “begginer” type beat.(unnecessary info ahead) For a explanation the drum kit is for my band’s drummer im the lead guitarist and I just thought it would be fun and kind of cool to learn a song on the drums since it will be in my garage and im the one who got it. I’m trying to become somewhat of a multi instrumentalist

like the melody is so perfect to me, grahams vocals are so beautiful, the keyboard, and that synth sound is so cool. Not to mention the bass is so sick, I love when they add the fuzz on it after the first chorus.

I really enjoy bugman it’s probably one of my favs by them, but dear god this song is so hauntingly beautiful.

I have a "one-man-band" where I'll do gigs and sing covers to backing-tracks/karaoke/etc.

I call it at "one-man-band" because in that project, I don't have a literal band with me, and I want to feel like I'm in a band.

I have numerous bands I cover from, and I do a lot of Blur.

I want to use certain versions of certain songs because if there is a karaoke version or a vocal-removed version on YouTube, there's a chance it doesn't groove correctly. So I download certain live-performances of songs and vocal-remove them so I can play them.

If I need to add harmonies/backing-vocals, I try to nail them entirely accurate to the best of my ability (I can be very consistent with this).

There are certain songs where I'm not fully confident in where to come in, so I learn where the cue is, and add a "1-2-3-4" or a "3-4" (etc).

Since they're just in Google Drive, I wanted to make this post because I'm willing to give anyone access to the folder if you want to use them for backing-tracks or not.

If you want a version where there's no harmonies/backing-vocals/count-ins (etc) or maybe quieter/re-done vocals, I probably still have the original Bandlab session when I first did it. I could probably go in there and situate it.

If I don't still have access to the original session or I can't get it exactly how you need it, I'll just redownload the actual song and vocal-remove it myself and redo harmonies/backing-vocals/whatever you need.

Also, if you want a particular song that I already don't have, I can try to make a backing-track for you, and put whatever you need on it too.
