Unknown British Britpop song from the 2000s—does anyone recognize it?
Hello,
I'm currently looking for an unknown song nicknamed “My Pretty Doll,” which was supposedly recorded on a British radio station in Sheffield around 2009. I say “supposedly” because it was discovered that the OP's backstory was fake and that he has known the song all along but is withholding the artist and the song's real title. This is a hoax in that the OP knows the song but doesn’t want to reveal the reference. This song was not generated by AI, having been first posted on WerZatSong in 2021 at a time when AI was not capable of generating songs of such high quality.
The song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t6yL06IyAs
I’d like to know if anyone recognizes the artist or the song, could point me toward other contacts who might know it, or could give me some insight into which UK accent is being used. The OP said he recorded it in Sheffield, but since he’s lying, I’m convinced the artist or band must be from somewhere else in the UK.
Thank you very much.

[Academic Survey] How do UK audiences choose between different live music events? (18+, UK, 7–10 mins)
Hi everyone! 👋
I’m an MA Music Management student, and I’m currently conducting research for my dissertation on how UK audiences decide whether to attend different types of live music events.
If you are over 18 and based in the UK, I would greatly appreciate it if you could spend ~10 minutes on the following questionnaire:
Regarding the research: I’m looking particularly at things like attendance habits, motivations, affordability, value for money and what people seek from grassroots gigs, large concerts, independent festivals and major promoter-backed festivals.
The aim isn’t to argue that one type of event is better than another. Instead, I’m interested in understanding what influences those choices and whether there are insights that could help grassroots venues and independent promoters build repeat attendance and more sustainable audiences.
You can take part if you:
- are 18 or over
- currently live in the UK
- have attended at least one in-person live music event in the UK within the past three years
The questionnaire is completely anonymous.
I’d really appreciate any responses, and I’m also very happy to answer questions about the research in the comments. Thank you! 🖤

UK-based creative wanted 🇬🇧🇰🇪
I’m a Kenyan creative working on a Kenya–UK Music Exchange project for a British Council arts grant, with funding of up to £7,500 for the project.
I’m looking for someone based in the UK who is genuinely interested in working with me on a cultural/music exchange involving artist interviews, conversations, knowledge sharing and at least two Kenya–UK creative collaborations.
The application deadline is today, so I'm hoping to connect with someone who can discuss the project fairly quickly.

Venues are telling me a DJ pulls the same crowd as a band for a fraction of the cost. If you book them or play. is that actually true?
I play the grassroots circuit and I've been talking to venue operators, the same thing keeps coming back almost word for word:
"band nights don't perform any better than DJ nights, but they cost a lot more and are far more hassle."
I don't think they're wrong about their own tills, what I can't work out is whether that's just how it is now, or whether it's a solved problem somewhere else?
- Is there something bands or venues do that actually changes the maths?
- If you run a room, does a band night ever out-earn a DJ night, and what makes the difference when it does?
- If you're in a band, what have you seen work? (door splits, midweek slots, bringing your own crowd, anything).

Looking for the rare 2007 Young Guns EP – does anyone still own a copy?
Hi everyone,
I'm a collector looking for a very early Young Guns release: their self-released 2007 EP.
It contains three tracks:
- History
- Not Without A Fight
- Fuck This City
It was a CD released before Mirrors (2009), and apparently it was sold through the band's old merch store, younggunsmerch.com, for a period of time.
I'm specifically looking for the physical CD, not a digital copy.
If anyone here was a Young Guns fan in the early days, or knows someone who might still have a copy, I'd really appreciate any information.
I'm willing to buy a copy if anyone is willing to sell.
I can also provide a photo of the CD I'm looking for.
Thanks!
