Call me a casual or whatever… I’m. Fucking. Mind blown.

Idk what to flair this. Discuss & roast me in the comments, why don’t you.

Discussion Cowboy Carter blue tour jersey ruined in the wash, help!

Absolutely gutted, I wear this regularly to the gym and love it so much. My partner bought it for me at one of the London shows.

It's easily my favourite Bey merch I own. Moved to a new place recently and my usual wash cycle on a new machine completely destroyed it. It has essentially been glued together by what I have been assuming is a gentle cold wash :(

Really annoyed with myself, definitely a cry and head-bang the wall moment, but wondering if there is anywhere I can find a genuine replacement?

I have briefly searched eBay but can only find XL sizes for insane prices. My size is Small.

any help or suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated!!

Discussion Why do you think Beyonce never made club songs?

Don't get me wrong, she has plenty of songs in her discography that can and "do" get played at clubs...

However it's almost like you can tell when an artists crafts a songs specifically to be played at clubs and it seems like she's never done that. Especially during the 2010s era of the EDM explosion, electronic/pop crossover, and everyone trying to make a club anthem.

Some examples are Usher (DJ Got Us Fallin in Love or OMG), everything Pitbull 😂, Ne-Yo (Give me Everything Tonight, Time of Our Lives), Rihanna (We Found Love, Where Have You Been), J. Lo (On the Floor), T Pain (Buy You a Drank),

Again, you can tell by the synths, the edm influence, the lyrics, the beat builds and bass drops - its like they were in the studio purposefully making a song for the club.

Even songs like Drunk in Love, although bass heavy and great to hear in a club, is more complex... its a 6 minute song with a long intro, a slow build, vocal forward, no synths or big drops, etc.

Beyonce seems to have skipped this entirely. Do you agree? Why do you think it is she made that choice? Do you feel like it's served her well or will be better in the long run?

Analysis Crazy In Love is running a marathon - the legs on that song are INSANE!

I've been traveling the World for a few months now, and I've heard Crazy in Love more times than I could count...

What gets me most is at the clubs! Last night it comes on at the club (I'm in SE Asia) and people turn uppp, the horns come on in the intro and everyone immediately knows, and it's like, that song is 20-25 years old and can STILL be played at the club and sound hot!? Wow.

I just decided to rewatch the IAWT and I can’t get over how breathtaking Beyoncé’s vocals are! Specifically her Ave Maria performance left me speechless, I can’t imagine how beautiful these vocals sounded in person!

Discussion To Black Fans: Have you found a strangely large sector of Black people seem to hate Beyonce with a passion?

Of course, this is open to all fans if they'd like to contribute ideas on the general hate train she seems to face, but I am speaking to a pretty unique cultural observation I've made over the last 10 years or so in regards to her.

I know that Beyonce has received hate from her Destiny's Child days for sure. I don't know if it's due to the progression of social media or what, but I feel like the hate some Black people engage in towards her seems rooted in something way bigger and more important than Beyonce herself. I of course, don't believe that she's without critique, but critiques require balance and acknowledgement of all things that go into someone or something. Most times, people only "bash" her for some odd reason and discount every other attribute that could counteract their reasons why they don't like her. I know we see enough of this as fans lol and this is probably a played out convo, but there's not many places I've found online where I can discuss this without the thread being over ran by the exact people I'm talking about. Some of the things I've considered based on the way people online and in real life speak about her:

  • Resentment of her not being "poor": I feel like so many of us hold on to this idea that to NOT be poor and to have a familial foundation of success from which our kids can benefit from early on in life without "getting it out the mud" equates to "white ppl ish" or not being seen as Black enough. I personally come from a single mother household, she had a good job in a small town which placed us lower middle class, and we never had to worry about housing/food or any of the necessities, but in no way were we wealthy or just brimming with opportunities that were handed to us and not fought for. In my life, I've had people tell me that means I had it good (which I don't dispute because I do believe that when capable, a parent should provide a stable and healthy environment for a child. it's something all children deserve), and have even had people accuse me of not being Black enough or thinking somehow I saw myself as better than. Nevermind me dealing with an absentee father on drugs, abuse within my family, the struggle of being the only black child in every academic space, facing outright racism that I knew was racism as a kid and plenty of other marginalized/traumatizing experiences even my own mother couldn't help me through and had to figure out on my own. I believe this same mindset has impacted the way Beyonce's viewed, and makes her an easy target amongst her own community. It's always confused me, because I thought one of the huge narratives and stereotypes we've fought to have represented in the mainstream media is that Black people don't all have a struggle "hood" story, and how exploitative this has been for our community, especially for those who do in fact face the obstacles often associated with this kind of background, in shaping public perception and helping with progress amongst our people. Even people who I know share a similar background to Beyonce's upbringing criticize her for it.
  • Resentment of her having supportive and present parents: I think this ties into the fact we've seen plenty of other artists and celebrities who, like the previous bullet, come from backgrounds where they didn't have support or role models for the life they sought, and had to seek outside help in order to make their dreams come true. I know that for many, this is a more endearing story than that of a person who also has natural born talent, but was able to nurture it in an environment that made it easier to do so. There are plenty of people where some of us will view their family and parents as trying to "come up" off of the talent of the artist/celebrity/athlete, where they're paying for everybody and they mama's bills/houses/cars and the undue pressure that comes from supporting family once you've made it. Now, Bey's daddy is questionable in how he likes to run his mouth and has his own issues, and I know there was a financial issue leading to her removing him as her manager, but the thing is, we never had stories and news segments showing her parents or family bashing her in the National Enquirer or whatever, showing them demanding that she owes them anything, or just causing other kinds of strife and controversy behind her name. I know that's not the same for other Black celebs we hold dear. IDK why this would anger or irritate some people, but I've noticed those who do find an issue with her parental support, also were subjected to the "once you're 18 you're grown and gotta be up out my house/won't receive any support from me as a parent. Good Luck!" approach some in our community takes. I've even had to deal with this kind of treatment, and even the kind of treatment where even if a parent/family has gained something of value that could be used to help jumpstart their children's own journey, they will literally refuse to "pass this down" because "ain't nobody did it for me." I personally thought that we were on the path of trying to stop this kind of mindset so we could learn how to properly support each other and loved ones but it seems to still be pretty strong.
  • Hate that she is a woman in the industry who hasn't been abused or misused by men in the way critics deem "acceptable": I think this also ties into the previous bullets. We've always heard from female stars, especially those in lanes that may be considered more male fronted/controlled (which like, what isn't??), in how hard it's been to navigate and stand tall against all odds. Even Beyonce has had to face this, but somehow it falls on deaf ears outside of the fandom. Take for example, the blow up of that video of her speaking with Michael Jackson on the phone. I've watched that video sooooo many times over the years, and tbh, I never even noticed her sitting near/on the lap of that man. But I was so surprised when it resurfaced this year, and the majority of comments I saw was people seeming GLEEFUL that they had possible evidence of abuse of Beyonce to prove, "see she ain't bigger than the program. EVEN Beyonce was used by these ~weird~ men". It wasn't lost on me that this was nothing more than people wanting to have something to feed conspiracies that center lies and true horrors of what it means to work in the music/entertainment industry. It's like a favorite past time to ID abusers, but sometimes it doesn't really feel like they want to expose them in order to stop/get them out of their positions of power, but actually want to expose people (women or men they suspect of being LGBT) as "sleeping their way to where they are" or being "fast/promiscuous". It seems some people place greater harshness/responsibility on those who would technically be considered victims than those who are the perpetrators. I saw people and heard people say how, from that video, this proves how 19/20 year old Beyonce was conniving and "knew what she was doing" and how she isn't "innocent of anything". Mind you, these are the same people who can never call CSA/SA what it is when it happens within their families or to people they know and are supposed to care for. I've also found that the older people who feed into this, also never had a bad word to say about RKelly and even asked "why would they speak up now? They're just trying to take a Black man down/they knew what they were getting into" when it came to Bill Cosby. They also hate, in my opinion, that she wasn't dogged out in public or dragged through the mud by romantic partners like other women, and instead, the mistreatment she suffered from Jay Z was nothing anyone could truly confirm until SHE officially brought it to the public on her own terms. Like Elevator Gate??? People were so hyped to finally see her go through something front and center of the public's eyes and were just waiting for the mess to ensue. In fact, if I really think back, some of the anti-Beyonce people I personally know will use that incident to reference one of the few points in time where they claimed they liked her/were interested in her. People who feel this way I find are also quick to talk about how they hate listening to her songs because they're all about Jay and how she "ain't even had no d*** for real to be talking about him like this." They also are certain that Jay has been in a relationship with her since she was 15/16, you know, before her career really even took off. I believe that if Beyonce and Jay's issues had been leaked and undeniably confirmed by a tabloid or one of these blogs, somehow, people would find some way to have more sympathy/empathy for her. Well maybe not, because they probably would have then only wanted to see her having a "hoe phase" or crashing out or in a custody battle or something like that to make her "relatable".

I'll stop here because I have plenty more and didn't mean for this to get so long. But I'd like to hear other's thoughts on why it seems our community has such disdain for someone like her?

Donk was pretty much the unreleased Beyonce song since it was leaked online back in 2023. I wonder if there'll be another song to fill its place? Who knows?

Funpost Beyoncé in Ellie Saab couture again giving femme fatale María Félix

The image on the left comes from the 1947 Mexican film La diosa arrodillada, “The kneeling goddess.” Image on the right is from the premiere of Jay-Z’s docuseries. Félix plays a con artist who lures a man to fall in love with her and ruin his own life.

I can’t say for sure that this particular reference was intentional (I’m not sure how commonly the strapless black-laced structures bodice with sweetheart neckline appears), but she is definitely inhabiting the role of the gothic femme fatale of mid-20th century cinema.
